Ella Mae Peterson
Ella Mae Peterson, 72, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Leo's Catholic Church. The Rev. Jack Rade-macher will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church with a 7 p.m. rosary.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Mrs. Peterson was born June 25, 1929, in Emmet to Francis and Mae (Stortz) Clark. She attended school in O'Neill and graduated from O'Neill High School in 1946.
She married
George W. "Pete" Peterson on Sept. 25, 1947, in O'Neill. The couple lived most of their married
life in Grand Island. Her husband died in 2000.
She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church. She enjoyed cross stitching and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, John and Cathy Peterson of Memphis, Tenn., Thomas and Rosey Peterson of Hastings, Robert and Chris Peterson of Grand Island, William and Mary Peterson of Kansas City, Kan., and Scott Peterson of Grand Island; four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Otte of Wentzville, Mo., and Sharon and Steven Yenny, Catherine and Leo Tylkowski and Mary and Steve Mettenbrink, all of Grand Island; 28 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald Clark of O'Neill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Richard Clark, and a sister, Dorothy Donohoe.
Doris Welch
Doris Welch, 86, of Beverly Healthcare Park Place of Grand Island died Thursday, Jan. 3.
Kleine Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.
'Niki' Mesner
CENTRAL CITY -- Nichole Anne "Niki" Mesner, 20, of Central City died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at the University Hospital in Omaha after a long battle with cancer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Solt Funeral Home chapel in Central City. Ellen Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Central City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Miss Mesner was born Nov. 23, 1981, in Grand Island to Michael E. and Donna M. (Williams) Mesner. She lived in Central City, Boston and Grand Island. She was educated in Grand Island and graduated from Central City High School. She developed cancer in May 1997. She received a stem-cell transplant Dec. 20. She was currently a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics.
She was baptized at and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. She attended the Friends Meeting House in Central City and belonged to Fraternal Order of Eagles in Central City. She enjoyed painting, counted cross stitch, music, karaoke, computers and movies.
Survivors include her mother, Donna Petersen of Central City; her father and stepmother, Mike and Glenda Mesner of Grand Island; two sisters and brother-in-law, Shanien and Mark Schmierer and Zandra Mesner, all of Central City; four stepbrothers and stepsisters-in-law, Kurt and Nadine Starkey of Ainsworth, and Randy and Cindy Starkey, Allan and Vicki Starkey and Loren Starkey, all of Fremont; grandparents, Selma Mesner and Don and Joyce Williams, all of Central City; and step grandparents Harold and Dorothy Jacobi of Wichita, Kan.
She was preceded in death by a grandparent, Warren Mesner, and step grandparent, Randall King.
Eileen Redler
80, School teacher
ALBION -- Eileen R. Redler, 80, of Albion died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion. The Rev. Frank Baumert will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion with a 7 p.m. rosary.
Mrs. Redler was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Nance County to Dale and Agnes (Rolfe) McAfee. She received her elementary education at country schools and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1938. She attended Kearney State College and earned her teaching degree there. Following graduation, she taught at several rural schools in Nance County.
She married
Leo Redler on Jan. 28, 1956, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fullerton. The couple lived and farmed southwest of Albion for 33 years. In 1968, she returned to teaching and taught at St. Anthony's Catholic School in Cedar Rapids, Plum Center east of Cedar Rapids and St. Michael's Catholic School in Albion.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and altar society, where she served as president. She was a 4-H leader, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a member of Christian Women's Club. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle point, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of Albion; four daughters and sons-in-law, Paula Redler of Phoenix, Ariz., Denise and Craig Crawford of Grand Island, Barbara and Dominic Goscinski of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joyce and Henry Leu of Grand Island; a son, Robert "Bob" Redler of Albion; 15 grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Elmer Belitz of Fullerton and Pauline and Maylon LeMasters of Escondido, Calif.; and a brother, Glen McAfee of Fullerton.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin.
'Jack' Kermoade
LINCOLN -- John "Jack" D. Kermoade, 74, of Lincoln, formerly of Fullerton, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Southview Christian Church in Lincoln. The Rev. Larry Cripe will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery in Omaha.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kermoade was born April 20, 1927, in Rulo to Clarence and Gertrude M. (Vinsonhaler) Kermoade. He grew up and attended Fall City High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946, including the end of World War II. After his discharge, he worked at Sutherland Lumber Company in Omaha, Wichita, Sioux Falls and Oklahoma City for 14 years.
He married
Betty L. Gudgell on Sept. 23, 1961, in Ralston. The couple lived in Ralston, where he owned and operated a service station for 19 years. Then they moved to Fullerton and owned and operated the Gambles Store for 12 years. He retired in 1989. He then moved to Missouri and later to Lincoln until his death.
He was a member of American Legion and Masonic Lodge of Fullerton. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and football.
Survivors include a son, Donald W. Kermoade of Lincoln, a daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and Doug Roth of Milford, a grandchild, a brother and sister-in-law, William and Barbara Kermoade of Blair, and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ida and Hal Norman of St. George, Utah, and Joyce and Robert Sailors of Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence H. and James Kermoade, and two sisters, Doris Engle and Geraldine Honeywell.
Dolores Maxson
BEATRICE -- Dolores M. Maxson, 76, of Beatrice, formerly of North Loup, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Seventh Day Baptist Church in North Loup. Mike Chase will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery in North Loup.
Visitation will be prior to services Sunday at the church. Memorial service will be held at a later date in Beatrice.
Memorials are suggested to the church or American Legion Auxiliary in North Loup.
Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Maxson was born June 19, 1925, in Iola, Wis., to Harry and Effie (Jacobson) Swenson. She grew up in Iola and Waupaca, Wis., and attended school in Waupaca where she graduated from high school.
She married
Lyle E. Vore on Dec. 15, 1945, in Waukegon, Ill. The couple lived in many places. In 1966, she moved to North Loup after her husband's death.
She married
Herman Maxson on June 1, 1973, in Beatrice. She worked for NE Community Action in Loup City and was chairman of the board. She also was the mayor of North Loup and was on the North Loup Village Board. She lived in North Loup until August 1999, when she moved to Beatrice.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 285 for more than 45 years.
Survivors include a son, Keith L. Vore of Burwell; three daughters, Lynette D. Lundstedt of Beatrice, Lee Cording of Hebron and Sue Ellen Yanez of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Delmont Tysdal of Waupaca, Wis., and Royal E. Swenson of King, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Inez Naasen of Iola, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands and a brother, Donald Swenson.
Donna O'Brien
Donna M. O'Brien, 73, of 3825 Woodridge Blvd., formerly of Shelton, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelton. The Rev. Paul Colling will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery near Wood River.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mrs. O'Brien was born July 11, 1928, at Boelus to Roland and Marie (Sorenson) Hackbart. She grew up in Boelus and attended school there.
She married
Donald O'Brien on April 12, 1944, in Smith Center, Kan. They moved to the Shelton area and farmed until they retired in 1979. They then moved to Grand Island.
Mrs. O'Brien was a member of the Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, and reading.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Dennis and Judy O'Brien of Shelton, Don Jr. and Dee O'Brien of Grand Island, Danny and Kelly O'Brien of Grand Island, and Douglas O'Brien of Lexington; six daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Frank Sherman of Overton, Kathy and Myron Manning of Shelton, Edith and Lonnie Mattison of Amherst, Rachelle and Reggie Zulkoski of Seattle, Joan and Daniel O'Brien of Plattsmouth, and Donna and Karl Bruner of Shelton; three sisters, Carol Fee of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Sue Ann Jewett of Kearney, and JoAnn Wagner of Lincoln; five brothers LeRoy Hackbart of Ben, Ore., Darrel Hackbart of Miami, Wayne Hackbart of St. Louis, Norman Hackbart of Greeley, Colo., and Dale Hackbart of Des Moines, Iowa; 28 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two infants; and two brothers.
