'Molly' Hummer
90, Clothing store owner
IOWA FALLS -- Madeline "Molly" Hummer, 90, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls. The Rev. James Dubert will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mark's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with a scriptural service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Hummer was born Nov. 17, 1910, at Alden, Iowa, to Walter and Mamie (Kollmansperger) Cox. She graduated from the Fort Dodge High School.
She married
George J. Hummer on Dec. 31, 1938, in Iowa Falls. She owned Hummers Tot and Teen Clothing Store, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls and was active in her church circle and choir. She enjoyed music, bridge and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, John "Tim" Hummer of Alden and George Hummer of Denver; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Patrick Phelan of Grand Island; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Kathleen Cox Dahlgren; and two brothers, John and Clifford Cox.
Della Kinney
CRESTVIEW, Fla. -- Della M. Kinney, 92, of Crestview, Fla., formerly of Grand Island, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at her son's home in Crestview.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Covenant Hospice of Crestview.
Mrs. Kinney was born Oct. 12, 1908, near Burwell to Henry and Merna (Thayer) Payton.
She married
Sylvester P. Kinney on May 25, 1927, in Ord. The couple moved to Grand Island in 1942.
She was a member of Third City Christian Church and the Eagles.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Onie Kinney of Crestview, Fla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Poss of St. Paul; and a brother, George Payton of Greeley.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986 and a grandchild.
Gerhart Pritschau
THE DALLES, Ore. -- Gerhart Pritschau, 85, of The Dalles, Ore., died Tuesday, Sept.. 11, 2001, in Evanston, Wyo.

Phyllis Ahlschwede
Phyllis Darlene Ahlschwede, 85, of Grand Island, a former longtime York resident, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in Grand Island.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Metz Chapel in York. The Rev. Karen Kennerly will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery at York.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in York or the Salvation Army.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ahlschwede was born Nov. 18, 1914, near Dorchester to Fred and Edna (Scott) Kleinholz. She was a 1931 graduate of Dorchester High School.
She married
Clarence Ahlschwede on Feb. 14, 1938, at Dorchester.
She was a cook at Willard School in York for 25 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of York, United Methodist Women, Nite Owls Extension Club and the Chat-N-Chew Club.
Survivors include a son, Earl of Grand Island; a daughter, Marlene (Mrs. Paul) Schreiter of Holdrege; five grandchildren; and a sister, Fern Horan of Exeter.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a brother, Frederick.
Donald Allison
Donald V. Allison, 71, of Grand island, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at St. Francis memorial Skilled Care Center.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Martin Schmidt will officiate. A family prayer service will be at 2:45 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Westlawn memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Allison was born July 7, 1929, in Shelton to Harold Francis and Adah (Jones) Allison. He grew up and was educated in Shelton, graduating from Shelton High School in 1947.
After graduation, he worked at Merdingers South Side grocery in Shelton. In 1957, the Allison family purchased Merdingers South Side Grocery Store. In 1960, Mr. Allison moved to Omaha, where he was employed by Bakers Supermarkets for 29 years. In 1988, he moved to Grand Island, where he was employed by Skagway.
He married
Rozella "Jackie" Gosda on May 28, 1988.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Layman's League and the Saddle Club. His hobbies included golfing, gardening, woodworking and feeding the birds.
Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Tim Dean of Omaha; two stepdaughters, Sandy Hill of Palm Desert Calif. and Sharon Ernst of Omaha; eight step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one sister, Connie Campbell of Rogers, Ark.; and mother-in-law, Anna Gosda of Wood River.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Rae Jean Schoenstein and Gloria Hayden Dean.
Hazel Gudmundsen
Hazel L. Gudmundsen, 84, of Grand Island, formerly of Ord, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Tiffany Square Nursing Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 11 a.m. at the first Presbyterian Church in Ord. The Rev. Michael Chase will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the donor's choice.

Frederick King
PHILLIPS -- Frederick "Fred" A. King, 74, of Phillips, died Oct. 2, 2000, at V.A. Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home. The Rev. Allen Runyon will officiate. Burial will be in the Phillips Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Frederick Lauerman
STROMSBURG -- Frederick Joseph Lauerman, 79, of Stromsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Stromsburg Baptist Church. The Rev. Duane Tweeten will officiate. Burial will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg.
Memorials are suggested to the Stromsburg Baptist Church or the Midwest Covenant Home.
Mr. Lauerman was born May 21, 1921, in Stromsburg to Edward and Josephine Lauerman. He attended Stromsburg Public Schools. He served in the 349th Signal Intelligence Service in the First Armored Division in WWII from 1942 to 1945.
He married
Laura A. Steever on June 29, 1947.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service where he served in Stromsburg for 30 years.
He was a member of the American Legion, Stromsburg Chamber of Commerce, Polk County Selective Service, Elks, Swedish Festival committee, Masonic Lodge No. 126, Rob Morris Chapter No. 192 Order of the Easter Star, a volunteer fireman, and long-time member of the Stromsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jim of Lincoln and Tom of Leawood, Kan.; one daughter Jennifer (Mrs. Dan) Gustafson of Omaha; seven grandchildren; a sister Clare (Mrs. Don) Wingfield of Stromsburg; and a brother, Frank of Tuscon, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his wife; four sisters, Viola, Evelyn, Delores and Patricia; and two brothers, John and Ed.
