Jimmy Fudge
Jimmy D. Fudge, 47, of Grand Island, formerly of Oregon, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at the VA Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Kleine Funeral Home Chapel.
Survivors include his mother, Ethel of Oregon and his fiancé, Debbie Hogg of Grand Island.
Bernadine Mudloff
Bernadine M. Mudloff, 83, of Grand Island died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Beverly Health Care-Lakeview.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Frank Hoelck will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the church.
All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Mudloff was born Nov. 18, 1917, at Farwell to Joseph and Marianna (Jasczynski) Lukasiewicz. She grew up near Farwell and attended St. Anthony's Parochial School in Farwell.
She married
Peter P. Mudloff on Sept. 19, 1939, at Farwell. The family moved to Grand Island in 1958 where she was employed by Hesteds, Allen's Self-Service Drug Store and Redman's Store.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed baking and sewing.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph and Shirlee Mudloff of Grand Island, Paul Mudloff of Longmont, Colo., and Tim Mudloff of Andover, Kan.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandi and Bob Laskowski of Rapid City, S.D., Rojeanne "Jinx" Hoes of Grand Island, Patti Walck of Lincoln and Judy and Gary Meyer of Deshler; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Mudloff of Lakewood, Calif.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, George and Lucian Lukasiewicz and two sisters, Domicella Lukasiewicz and Helen Strelecki.
Iva Barthel
BURWELL -- Iva Barthel, 93, of Burwell died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church in Burwell. The Revs. Howard Rice, Don Pelto and Jim Wilkins will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Chambers Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Assembly of God Church in Ord or Burwell.
Edward Kava
SILVER CREEK -- Edward Kava, 76, of Silver Creek, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Church in Silver Creek. The Rev. Dave Korth will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lawrence cemetery in Silver Creek.
Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. Friday with a vigil at 7 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. until service Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Lawrence Church for masses or the family's choice.
Mr. Kava was born Nov. 11, 1924, at Genoa to John and Tillie (Liss) Kava.
He married
Patricia Zywiec on June 17, 1952, at St. Anthony's Church in Columbus.
He lived in and around the Genoa and Silver Creek areas where he farmed for several years. He also worked at Behlen Manufacturing for 14 years until his retirement.
He was a talented musician and played the violin and button accordion for the Kava Orchestra for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, music and animals. He was a member of St. Lawrence Church in Silver Creek.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Connie Kava of Norfolk and Robert and Tracy Kava of Silver Creek; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon Kava of Omaha and Nancy and Jim Tworok of Genoa; eight grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Stella Egnoski of Omaha; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles Kava of Fullerton and Lonnie and Irene Kava of Fullerton.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Jarecki and Barbara Triba, an infant sister and a brother, Karl Kava.
Zella Klinkacek
CAIRO -- Zella Klinkacek, 74, of Cairo died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Shelton. The Rev. Steven Schlund will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Klinkacek was born Dec. 9, 1926, to Ray and Fannies Smith. She was a graduate of Pleasanton High School.
She married
Lester Klinkacek on June 16, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shelton. The couple lived on a farm north of Shelton. They retired and moved to Cairo on Oct. 9, 1999.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Marilyn Hermann of Humble, Texas, and Patty Hill of Lyons, Colo., three grandchildren; and a sister, Lela Suntken of Kearney.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, DeLoss and Russel Smith.
Glen Mann
BURWELL -- Glen P. Mann, 84, of Burwell died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Valley County Hospital in Ord.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Burwell. The Rev. Don Studley will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the Burwell Ambulance Supply in Burwell or a Burwell church.
Mr. Mann was born Sept. 4, 1917, to Allan and Emma Goehring Mann. His father died when he was young. He and siblings worked to keep the ranch going. He went through the 10th grade at Kent School. When he went to Burwell for school, he was able to go home two times during the school year for Christmas and then when school was out. He graduated from Burwell High School in 1935.
He married
Stella Harpham on April 5, 1941. They started out at the home place, farmed and ranched on different places in the Burwell area, and returned home in 1962. After his wife died in 1995, he continued to live there until his death.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His sons respected his strong mechanical ability and relied on him whenever they needed help in making equipment work. He was quiet, pleasant and willing to do what he could.
He enjoyed his cattle and farming, sorting at the Burwell Sale Barn from 1952 until retirement in 1983 and taking tickets at the Burwell rodeo for years. The couple enjoyed playing cards with friends as well as their association with the Burwell Methodist Church and Kent Korner Klub.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Kathy Mann and Gaylord and Sandra Mann, all of Burwell; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Eunice Mann of O'Neill; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Clarice Stelling of Grand Island and Dorothy and Les Rolfsmeier of Seward.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother, Ralph.
Ethel Gwaltney
SEDALIA, Mo. -- Ethel M. Gwaltney, 60, of Sedalia, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, at Bothwell Regional Hospital Center after a long battle with cancer.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Heckart-Gillespie Funeral Home in Sedalia, Mo.
Memorials are suggested to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Mrs. Gwaltney was born March 31, 1941, at Greeley County to Wesley and Ann (Gydesen) Johnson. The family moved to Pine Bluffs in 1956. She graduated from Pine Bluffs High School and attended Lincoln General School of Nursing in Nebraska.
She married
Dale Gwaltney on April 27, 1963, in Cheyenne. During the 1970s, the couple moved to North Dakota and then Montana before their present home in rural Sedalia. She worked for SATAF at air bases in Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana and at Whiteman several years as the base representative for Champus Insurance.
The couple owned and operated two group homes for mentally challenged adults near Sedalia from 1989 to 1998. They then opened Plaza 16 Texaco Station and C-Store in Sedalia which she managed until her death.
She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, the outdoors, her yard and working with flowers. She cared deeply for her pets and the welfare of strays, seeking to find homes for them.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Kent of Sedalia and Kevin of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; her mother, Ann Kasselder of Pine Bluffs; a sister, Elaine Raschella of Lebanon, Ore.; and two brothers, John Kasselder of Farson, Wyo., and Jerry Kasselder of Sedalia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Johnson in 1982 and her stepfather, Elwood Kasselder in 1977.
