Ronald Jackson
DANNEBROG -- Ronald T. Jackson, 71, of Dannebrog died of cancer Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at his home.
Private family burial will be at noon Monday at Oakridge cemetery in Dannebrog. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church Family Center in Dannebrog. The Rev. Rob Pearson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church's building fund or the Dannebrog-Boelus EMTs.
Jacobsen Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jackson was born on April 19, 1927, at Cairo to Glen and Ada (Thayer) Jackson. He moved with his family to Rockville, where he started school. The family moved to the Dannebrog area, where he attended Bethel District 59 School. He graduated from Dannebrog High School in 1944.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served with the Army of occupation in Germany and Austria. Upon his discharge in 1947, he worked for Howard County as a patrol operator.
He married
Mary Anderson on June 1, 1949, in Colorado Springs, Colo. With the exception of two years in Dannebrog and three years in Cairo, they lived on a farm in the Cleveland Precinct. He was self-employed as an earth-moving contractor from 1963 until his retirement in 1993.
He enjoyed horses and raising cattle. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dannebrog and Mickelsen-Larkowski American Legion Post 241 of Dannebrog.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Rachel (Mrs. Galen) Fast of Leadville, Colo., Debbie (Mrs. David) Breeden of Hays, Kan., and Ronda (Mrs. Brian) Jackson of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Virgil of Parachute, Colo., and Wayne of Bellevue.
He was preceded in death by an infant grandson and an infant brother.
Lillie Jacobsen
SILVER CREEK -- Lillie Christina Jacobsen, 94, of Silver Creek died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek. The Rev. Larry Biederman will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home in Silver Creek and from 1 p.m. to service time Monday at the church.
Mrs. Jacobsen was born on March 6, 1904, in Minden to Herman and Anna (Reimers) Strohbehn. She came to Silver Creek at the age of 4 and lived her entire life on the same farmstead until shortly before her death.
She married
Eller Jacobsen on Jan. 21, 1925, in Council Bluffs.
Mrs. Jacobsen enjoyed gardening and had a special interest in day lilies and irises. She held a collection of several hundred varieties. She also enjoyed raising chickens, reading, sewing, embroidery and quilting.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek, Rebekah Lodge and World War I Auxiliary Group.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Loyd) Adkinson of Central City, Joann (Mrs. Lavern) Hauptmann of Neligh and Betty (Mrs. Robert) Stuhr of Shelby, Iowa; one son, Donald Jacobsen of Silver Creek; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Loyd Atkinson and Walt Strohbehn; and an infant sister.
'Shorty' Parr
ROSELAND -- Norbert "Shorty" Parr, 81, of Roseland died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseland. The Rev. Thomas Au will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption cemetery in Roseland.
A rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Butler-Volland Funeral Home in Hastings. Visitation will continue from 6 p.m. until the rosary Sunday at the church and one hour before services Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the Assumption/Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus or the donor's choice.
Mr. Parr was born on May 12, 1917, in Roseland to Joseph and Mary (Siren) Parr.
He married
Catherine Loskill on June 22, 1943. They celebrated 55 years of marriage in 1998. He was a retired livestock producer and farmer. He was a lifetime Roseland resident.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Assumption/Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus. He was an honorary Roseland volunteer firefighter. He was a past member of the Nebraska Cattlemen's Association, Adams County Cattlemen's Association, Assumption/Sacred Heart choir and Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Merle Parr of Roseland and Stanley Parr of Omaha; four daughters, Monica (Mrs. Wayne) Mousel of Roseland, Marcia (Mrs. G. Peter) Konen of Hastings, Sheila (Mrs. Wayne) Linder of Lincoln and Norine (Mrs. Randy) Valasek of Cairo; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leonard Parr.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Jess Wilcox
BURWELL -- Jess F. Wilcox Jr., 58, of Burwell died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Burwell. The Rev. Mike Blatchley will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Wilcox was born on June 27, 1940, in California. He moved around for a while with his mother, Evelyn (Paddock) Kowalski, before settling in Ord in 1949.
He married
Deborah Lytle on Jan. 2, 1998, in Burwell. Mr. Wilcox was a truck driver.
He enjoyed shooting pool and bowling.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Ricky Wilcox of Kearney, Randy Wilcox of Chicago, Ronnie Wilcox of Fremont and Jeremy Wilcox of Omaha; three grandchildren; and four sisters, Cheryl Moran of Hastings, Diane Fischer of Kearney, Penney (Mrs. Norm) Lenstrom of Greeley, Colo., and Kimberly (Mrs. Bob) Smith of Broken Bow.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Michael.
Dolores Walter
GENEVA -- Dolores I. Walter, 83, of Geneva died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Geneva.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Father Ulenberg Hall in Geneva. The Rev. Ivan Vap will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service Sunday at Farmer and Son Funeral Home in Geneva.
Memorials are suggested to the Dolores Walter Scholarship.
Mrs. Walter was born on Jan. 18, 1915, at Hancock, Mich., to Charles and Iva (LaBeche) Bissonette.
She married
Linus F. Walter. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Kensington and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Richard of Shickley and Charles of Lexington, Ky.; three daughters, Catherine (Mrs. Gaylen) TenHulzen of Sioux City, Iowa, Celeste (Mrs. Mike) Ley of Grand Island and Therese (Mrs. Gary) Michels of Omaha; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Edith Krzycki
GENOA -- Edith Krzycki, 89, of Genoa died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at the Genoa Community Hospital.
Arrangements are pending with Anson Funeral Home in Genoa.
