Anne Hungerford
WEBSTER CITY, Iowa -- Anne Hungerford, 89, of Webster City, Iowa, formerly of Wood River, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Wood River Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before service time at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River.
Susie Nutter
COLUMBUS, Texas -- Susie M. Nutter, 90, of Columbus, Texas, formerly of Gibbon, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997, at the Columbus Care Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Godberson Mortuary in Gibbon. The Rev. Robert Flynn will officiate. Burial will be in the Gibbon Riverside Cemetery.
No visitation is planned.
'Zeke' Schr'der
WAUWATOSA, Wis. -- Raymond "Zeke" Herman Schr'der, 61, of Wauwatosa, Wis., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, in Wauwatosa.
Services will be Monday in Appleton, Wis. Wichmann Funeral Home of Appleton is in charge of arrangements.
Maxine Bramble
Maxine R. Bramble, 86, of the Grand Island Veterans Home died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at the veterans home.
Services are pending at Kleine Funeral Home.
Alfred Olsen
Alfred T. Olsen, 81, of Grand Island died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Olsen was born on Aug. 12, 1916, in Connecticut to Angel and Mary (Thomoson) Olsen. He grew up and was educated in Bridgeport. After his education, he transported military vehicles in New England.
He married
A. Celia Gallant on July 4, 1942, in Bridgeport.
Mr. Olsen worked for more than 40 years as a steel worker for Carpenter Technology. He retired in 1982 and moved to Grand Island in October 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Olsen of Grand Island and Joseph Olsen of St. Charles, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Mary 'Kitty' Berthold of Methuen, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one stepson, Laurence Desroche; one brother, Olaf Olsen; and one sister, Alice Olsen.
Ryan Pochop
Ryan T. Pochop, 11, of Grand Island died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, near his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kleine Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Ryan T. Pochop Memorial Fund.
"J.B.' Gallion
ALBION - Judson Barclay 'J.B.' Gallion, 93, of Albion died Monday, June 29, 1998, at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Albion. The Rev. Eric Biehl will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the Chester cemetery with graveside services by Masonic Lodge 298.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Mr. Gallion was born on Nov. 17, 1904, at Grinnell, Kan., to Harry and Anne (Warren) Gallion. He was educated at Kansas country schools in the Chester, Neb., area and graduated from Chester High School in 1924. He attended Nebraska Wesleyan College.
He married
Gladys Woodward on June 2, 1931, in a triple wedding ceremony at her parentsi home in Chester. They lived in Chester, where he owned and operated Gallionis Grocery and Meats for 36 years.
The couple moved in 1966 to Albion, where they were active in the First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Gallion died on May 1, 1996. Mr. Gallion continued to live at home until August 1997, when he entered the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center.
He had been a member of the Methodist Church since 1920 and was active in various church offices. He taught Sunday school, served as a 4-H leader and served on various local, village and school boards over the years. He was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge 298 in Chester as well as in Albion Lodge 78 AF and AM, recently receiving his 50-year pin. He was also a past patron of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilee (Mrs. Delbert) Niewohner of Albion; two sons, Larry Gallion of Clinton, S.C., and David Gallion of Albion; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Persis Gallion of Scituate, Mass.
Other than his wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson; two brothers, Richard and Arthur; and one sister, Elizabeth.
Ruth H'rath
ST. PAUL - Ruth D. H'rath, 81, of St. Paul died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Brian Kottas will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge cemetery in Fremont.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. H'rath was born on Nov. 15, 1916, at Saunders County to Charles and Lulu (Thompson) Dixon. She grew up on a farm south of Fremont in Saunders County. She attended the former St. Patrickis Grade School and graduated from Fremont High School. She attended Midland College in Fremont for two years.
She married
Vern H'rath on Aug. 15, 1966, at St. Paul. She was a secretary for Dodge County Social Services in Fremont for many years, retiring in 1973. She lived in Fremont until 1984, when she moved to St. Paul.
Survivors include her husband; and two sisters, Dixie (Mrs. Otto) Refflen of Seattle and Beryl (Mrs. Mac) McMillan of Fallbrook, Calif.
She was preceded in death by an adopted son, John.
Phillip Morris
MASON CITY - Phillip Morris, 87, of Mason City died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at his home.
Services are pending with Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Vesta Saner
DUNNING - Vesta N. 'V.N.' Saner, 86, of Dunning died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Church of Christ in Dunning. The Revs. David Hansen and David Marcham will officiate. Burial will be in the Purdum Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the church.
Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Saner was born on Nov. 13, 1911, at Ellis to Oliver and Louise (Wiedeman) Saner. At the age of 2, he moved with his family to Blaine County. He attended Mizpah country school. After his schooling, he farmed and ranched with his parents on the home place.
He married
Dorothy Rodocker on July 2, 1934, at Harrison. They lived within three miles of the Saner home place, north of Dunning, throughout their marriage.
He enjoyed music and began playing drums for the Club Dance Band at the age of 17. Later in life, he enjoyed playing the organ.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Dwight Saner of Dunning; one daughter, Marlene (Mrs. Junior) Milleson of Dunning; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Saner of Broken Bow; and two sisters, Ruth Koch of Johnstown and Edith Thornburgh of Vienna, Va.
He was preceded in death by one grandson and three brothers.
