Donna R. Caveny, 69, of Glendora, Calif., formerly of Grand Island, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in Glendora.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Marjorie Ballagh
BURWELL -- Marjorie Ellen Ballagh, 77, of Burwell died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the Clear Brook PAL (Partners in Adult Learning) Program or Nebraska Christian School in Central City.
Elaine Boudreau
HASTINGS -- Elaine Helen Boudreau, 93, of Perkins Pavilion in Hastings died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Butler-Volland Chapel in Hastings with the Rev. Joseph P. Finn officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne's cemetery in Campbell. The Rev. James Schrader will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until a rosary at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Perkins Pavilion and Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.
Mrs. Boudreau was born on Aug. 20, 1905, in Upland to Alphonse and Orise (Gagnon) Brouillette.
She married
Eugene Boudreau on Feb. 22, 1922, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Campbell. She moved from Campbell to Hastings in 1943. Mr. Boudreau died on June 9, 1975.
Mrs. Boudreau was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and its Altar Society.
Survivors include a sister, Florence Richmeier of Riverside, Calif.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcella; a son, LeRoy; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Clayton Carlson
STROMSBURG -- Clayton J. Carlson, 84, of Stromsburg died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Midwest Covenant Home chapel. The Rev. Dick Bauer will officiate. Burial will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg.
Mr. Carlson was born on Aug. 3, 1914, at rural Stromsburg to Charles William and Emma Christina (Fusby) Carlson. He lived in rural Stromsburg, where he was a mink rancher and a farmer. He was also a seed corn salesman for Ottillie for a number of years.
Survivors include two nieces, Cristin (Mrs. David) Simms of Fredericksburg, Va., and Cathrin (Mrs. Jerry) Bond of Avoca; and one nephew, Clifford Charles Carlson of Chesapeake, Va.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Violet Carlson; and two brothers, Clarence Carlson and Clifford Charles Carlson.
Anna Friesen
AURORA -- Anna Friesen, 95, of Aurora died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at Memorial Community Care at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Aurora United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joe Scahill will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mrs. Friesen was born on March 26, 1903, at Colony, Okla., to John and Tena (Huebert) Tessman. She was educated in Henderson.
She married
David P. Friesen on June 17, 1926, at Henderson. They farmed near Hampton for 11 years and moved to Aurora in 1955. She worked as a nurse's aide at Hamilton Manor in Aurora for 10 years. Mr. Friesen died on Dec. 17, 1990. Mrs. Friesen entered Memorial Community Care in Aurora on Jan. 16, 1995.
She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Max of Hampton and Jerry of Aurora; two daughters, Lois Northrop of Clay Center and Norma Hutsell of Aurora; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Burns of Aurora.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter; three brothers, Johnny, Henry and Dan Tessman; and one sister, Bernice Klute.
Letha Horst
ST. PAUL -- Letha A. Horst, 84, of St. Paul died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at the Howard County Community Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Laura Bartels will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery at St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to hospital, the church or the family's choice.
Mrs. Horst was born on Jan. 20, 1915, in Greeley County to Wheeler and Molly (Piller) Caudill. She was educated at Brayton.
She married
Lyle "Ole" Wolfert on March 9, 1929, at Taylor. They first lived in Greeley and then lived throughout the central states, where he worked in road construction.
They moved in 1945 to St. Paul, where she was a homemaker. Mr. Wolfert died on July 6, 1962. She continued to live in St. Paul.
She married
Whitey Horst on Nov. 7, 1968, in St. Paul. They lived in St. Paul. Mr. Horst died on March 29, 1988. She continued to live in St. Paul and worked at Abel's Nursing Home and for Art and Dorothy Lynch making salad dressing.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, cards and her dog, Fritz.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both at St. Paul, and was a past noble grand and member of Success Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Susie Wolfert (Mrs. Nick) Pedersen of St. Paul and Doris (Mrs. LaVern) Jurzenski of Cotesfield; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Louie Caudill of Elba; and a sister, Lois (Mrs. Lester) Scott of Seattle.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Gene; three brothers, Loundy, Theodore "Bub" and Max Caudill; and one sister, Lila Caudill.
Edna Rehrs
AURORA -- Edna A. Rehrs, 91, of Aurora, formerly of Hampton, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at Memorial Community Care at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hampton United Lutheran Church. The Rev. Shari Duminy will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Church cemetery north of Hampton.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mrs. Rehrs was born on Oct. 5, 1907, at Hampton to William and Wilhemeni (Peetzke) Stettner. She grew up and was educated northeast of Hampton.
She married
Herbert Rehrs on Feb. 19, 1927, at Hampton. They farmed in the Hampton area until they retired and moved into Hampton in 1976. Mr. Rehrs died on April 13, 1983. Mrs. Rehrs entered Memorial Community Care in Aurora on Feb. 9, 1993.
She was a member of the Hampton United Lutheran Church and belonged to the WELCA. She also belonged to Hampton American Legion Auxiliary Post 141. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Gary of Verdon; two daughters, Jean (Mrs. Herb) Peters of Hampton and Colleen Nouzovsky of Waddell, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dean Stettner of Sidney, Frank Stettner of Central City and Edgar Stettner of Springfield, Mo.; and one sister, Virginia Gilmore of Lee's Summit, Mo.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dwayne "Bud" Rehrs and Dallas in infancy.
