NORTHWOOD - David A. Cody, 69, of Old Barnstead Road, died Jan. 8 at Concord Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in New Bedford, Mass. He was a self-employed advertising executive.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carla Cody.
He is survived by a son, Nils Cody of Sweden; a daughter, Per Cody of Sweden; and a sister, Charlotte Aversano of New Bedford, Mass.
There will be no services.
The Cremation Society of New Hampshire in Manchester is in charge of arrangements.
Joan E. Nelson

Joan E. Nelson, 67, of Concord Gardens, died Friday at Concord Hospital.
She was born in Charlestown, Mass., the daughter of William and Daisy Mae (Ferguson) Irving.
She grew up in Dover, where she attended local schools, and was a graduate of Dover High School.
She had worked as a bookkeeper for many years.
She was predeceased by her brother, Jack "Buzz" Irving.
She is survived by three sons, Joe Nelson of Merrimack, Mass., Rick Nelson of Georgia and Rod Nelson of Methuen, Mass.; two daughters, Bonnie Wilkins of Nottingham and Judy Harriman of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James and William Irving, both of New Hampshire; a sister, "Kitty" Pollard of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Spring graveside services will be held in the Old North Cemetery, Nottingham.
The E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury, Mass., is in charge of arrangements.
Ronald E. Martin, PITTSFIELD

PITTSFIELD - Ronald E. "Sam" Martin, 62, of Thompson Road, died suddenly yesterday.
He was born in Wolfeboro, the son of Maurice and Doris (Keniston) Chagnon.
He was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a lifelong resident of the Barnstead-Pittsfield area.
He worked at the Concord YMCA for the past several years as the maintenance manager. He worked prior to that in the maintenance department at Pittsfield High School and at Banks Chevrolet as the body shop manager.
He had been a 4-H leader and was active with the 4-H organization for more than 20 years.
He enjoyed snowmobiling and, years ago, he raced cars at different tracks throughout the state.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Barton) Martin of Pittsfield; two sons, Jeffrey Martin of Concord and Dana Martin of Pittsfield; three daughters, Rhonda Thibeault of Concord, Tracy Martin of Hill and Doris Martin of Deerfield; a brother, Gordon Martin of Pittsfield; three grandchildren; and many niece and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the South Barnstead Christian Fellowship, Route 126, Barnstead.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in his memory to the 4-H Working Steers/Merrimack County Ox-bows, c/o Bob Pearson, 118 Little Hill Road, Webster 03303.

Leona I. Stewart, WILMOT

WILMOT - Leona I. Stewart, 74, of North Wilmot Road, died yesterday at New London Hospital.
The daughter of Howard and Lula (Jenness) Atwood, she was a native, and lifelong, resident of Wilmot.
She graduated from Franklin High School, and had been a telephone operator at Kearsarge Telephone Company, New London, for 32 years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wilmot.
She was a former member of the Grange, and a member of the Nimble Thimble Club and the Wilmot Historical Society.
She enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Stewart Jr. of Wilmot; a son, Victor Stewart of Sutton; two daughters, Linda Morehouse of Deering and Lonna Green of North Wilmot; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Chellis of Plymouth; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Spring graveside services will be held in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Wilmot.

Minnie Jewett, PENACOOK

PENACOOK - Minnie "Mitzi" Jewett, 69, of Broadcove Drive, died Tuesday at home.
She was born in Sutton, the daughter of Robert and Estelle (Morrow) Partridge. She lived in the Penacook-Concord area for most of her life.
She did telephone referral service for 12 years with the Concord Community Services Help Line. While working at Help Line, she organized Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and baskets. She had previously worked for several electronic services in Concord.
She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, where she served as a eucharistic minister. She was commissioned a Stephen minister, and became a Stephen minister leader.
She was a Concord Hospital volunteer, a member of the Riverhill Grange 346 and she belonged to the State and National Granges. She was a notary public and a justice of the peace.
She was predeceased by a sister, Sarahjane Mullins.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Vernon Jewett of Penacook; three sons, V. Robert Jewett of Concord, Gregory Jewett of Portsmouth, Va., and Steven Jewett of Fort Belvoir, Va.; a daughter, Linda Poupore of Howard, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Fish of Williston, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Boutwell & Hussey-Wiren Funeral Home, 190 N. Main St., Concord.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrowat 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church. Spring burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Webster.
John Joseph Cummings, WEARE

WEARE - John Joseph Cummings, 77, of Colby Road, died yesterdayat his home.
He was born in New York City and lived on Long Island, N.Y., for many years before moving to Weare in 1972.
He joined the Nassau County Police Department as a patrolman in 1946. He rose through the ranks and retired in 1972 as the assistant chief of detectives. In 1976, he became the investigator for New Hampshire Real Estate. In 1986, he retired as an investigator with the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Coast Guard.
He was a member of the Retired Superior Officer Organization of the Nassau County Police Department. He also was a member of the Philbrick Clement American Legion Post No. 65 of Weare and the Retired Nassau Blue Organization.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cummings of Weare; two sons, John Cummings and Kevin Cummings, both of Weare; three daughters, Anita Hoenig, Theresa Chase and Noreen Lull, all of Weare; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Anita Cummings, in 1994.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at French & Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., Goffstown.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church in Goffstown. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.

CHESTER - Ryan J. Berry, 15 months, died Wednesday at Parkland Medical Center in Derry after a sudden illness.
He was born in Manchester, the son of Steven and Elizabeth (Godron) Berry of Chester.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Loretta Berry of Rochester; his maternal grandparents, James and Donna Godron of Hillsboro; his maternal great-grandmother, Jane VonReutenberg of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call todayfrom 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch St., Derry.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry.

LACONIA - Irene M. Phillips, 75, of Davis Place, died Wednesday at Lakes Region General Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Laconia, the daughter of George and Reina (Gouin) Phillips and was a lifelong resident of the city.
She had been employed at the Laconia Show Co. for more than 40 years and retired 10 years ago.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a cantor, a lector and a member of the choir. She also belonged to the church's prayer group.
She was a member of the Lakes Region General Hospital Auxiliary.
Family members include two sisters, Rita Wilkinson of Brooksville, Fla., and Theresa Brough of Laconia; an uncle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held todayfrom 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the A.W. Simoneau & Son Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian burial will be offered tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia.
Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery chapel on Garfield Street, Laconia. Burial will follow in the spring.
