Florence J. Dargie, 85, of Old Suncook Road in Concord, died Saturday at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born in Boston, the daughter of Andrew and Florence (Clark) Wright. She attended schools in Concord. She worked as a mailroom clerk for Rumford Press for more than 38 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1631, the Carmelite Guild and the Senior Bowling League. Survivors include two sons, Alphonse DiCicco of Hooksett and Joseph DiCicco Sr. of Boscawen; two sisters, Margaret Griffith of Penacook and Shirley Rizzo of Concord; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Alphonse DiCicco Sr., died in 1945; her second husband, Amedie Dargie, died in 1987; and a brother, Andrew Wright Jr., also died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Graveside memorial services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord. Patricia J. McCarthy, 77, of Bow Center Road in Bow and formally of Meadow Street in Concord, died Tuesday at the Hospice House in Concord after a long illness She was born in Marblehead, Mass., the daughter of Harold and Margaret (Cunningham) Daly. She graduated from Marblehead (Mass.) High School in 1945. McCarthy was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church. She was a member of Concord Country Club and was an avid golfer and former ladies club champion. She volunteered at Concord Hospital and the New Hampshire State Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Robert McCarthy III of Laconia and Kevin McCarthy of Bow; a daughter, Judith Kennedy of Clarks Summit, Pa.; a brother, Harold Daly of Marblehead, Mass.; and four grandsons. Her husband, Robert McCarthy II, died in 2000; and a sister, Reba McGeown, died previously. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Concord. Burial will be held at a later date at Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead, Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice House, P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302-1797; or to one's local cancer society. CLAREMONT - Lucy A. Burke, 89, of West Terrace Street, died Monday at home after a period of failing health. She was born in Claremont, the daughter of Dominic and Angelamaria (Buchicchio) Zotto. She was a lifelong resident of Claremont. Burke attended schools in Claremont. She worked as a rewinder for Dartmouth Woolen Mills before retiring. She was a former member of the Elks Emblem Club. Survivors include a son, Thomas Burke of Concord; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Raymond Burke, died in 1994; and a sister, Mary Zotto, and two brothers, Anthony Zotto and Michael Zotto, died previously. Calling hours will not be held. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Shawn Therrien, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. LEE - James B. "Cross Man" Dodge, 96, died Tuesday at Heartland Place at Epsom Manor Nursing Home and Retirement Center. He was born in Boston, the son of Clarence and Emily (Jourdan) Dodge. He lived in Westwood, Mass., before moving to Lee, where he was formerly of Route 152, in 1973. He worked as a building contractor and began running his own construction business in 1938. He served as trustee of the Hyde Park Baptist Church and was a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Westwood, Mass. He was a member of the board at the Boston Bethel City Mission Society. Dodge was a member of the Grange for more than 50 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Northwood, where he served as moderator and chairman of the Diaconate and was made a "life deacon." Dodge was active in the Southeastern Area Association of ABC Churches, where he served as president. He also served as president of American Baptist Churches of New Hampshire, where he also served on the board of directors and the finance committee, and served as president of the American Baptist Men of New Hampshire. He preached as a lay minister in many churches in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and was active in the development and maintenance of Camp Sentinel. He made many wood crosses that were distributed worldwide and at many Baptist conferences. Survivors include three sisters, Mildred Sawyer of Norton, Kan., Etta Crane of Woodstock, Conn., and Mary Sears of Needham, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. His first wife of 40 years, Virginia, died in 1980; his second wife of 14 years, Floris, died in 2000; and a sister, Emily Barrie, died in 1982. Memorial services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Northwood. The Rev. Robert Williams, the Rev. Arthur Foye and the Rev. Patricia Ketzler, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Northwood, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Northwood, First N.H. PITTSFIELD - Rosemary Hawkins, 82, of Leavitt Road, died April 25 at home. She was born in Essex Junction, Vt., the daughter of Charles and Helen (Parker) Hawkins. She graduated from Springfield Hospital's registered nurse program in 1946. She lived in Laconia before moving to Pittsfield 10 years ago. She worked as a registered nurse for the state of New Hampshire before retiring. She enjoyed agriculture, forestry and embroidery. Survivors include a brother, Charles Hawkins of San Antonio, Texas; her companion of 48 years, Walter Avery of Lakeport; and a niece. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. BELMONT - Jeannette V. Clairmont, 95, formerly of Johnson Street, died Monday at the Mountain Ridge Healthcare Center in Franklin. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., the daughter of Noah and Amanda (Duval) Vachon. She moved to Belmont in 1923 and lived on Johnson Street for nearly 80 years. She worked at the Belmont Hosiery Mill before retiring and later as a seamstress at the Dress Shop in Franklin. Clairmont was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and working in her flower garden. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Parker of Franklin; two grandchildren, Suzette Stanton of Franklin and Jeffrey Parker of Concord; and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Eugene Clairmont, died in 1973; and a brother, Albert Vachon, died previously. Calling hours will be held today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Simoneau and Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish, Church Street, Belmont. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Tilton.

MANCHESTER - Roberta Rose Parent, 56, died yesterday at Elliot Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Manchester, the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Girard) Parent. She lived in Manchester most of her life. She graduated from Manchester Memorial High School in 1965 and from Houle's Beauty Academy. Parent worked for Armtec Industries in Manchester for more than 15 years before retiring. She enjoyed cheering for the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics and spending time at Hampton Beach. Survivors include her stepmother, Helen Parent of Manchester; a nephew, Robert Martin of Allenstown; two nieces, Vicki Martin of Concord and Kelly Martin-Baker of East Rochester; three grandnieces and two cousins. Her parents and a sister, Jacquelyn Martin, died previously. Services will be held privately at a later date. HILLSBORO - Eugene E. "Beanie" Broadley, 64, died Thursday in Deering. He was born in Hillsboro, the son of Edwin and Flossie (Chamberlin) Broadley. He was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro. Broadley worked in the snowmobile department of Livingston's Auto Repair Co. for many years. He was a member of the SAL of American Legion Post No. 59 in Hillsboro and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge Post No. 1091 in Hillsboro. He was a retired member of the Hillsboro Fire Department. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Darlene (Holland) Broadley of Hillsboro; a son, Michael Broadley of West Deering; a daughter, Anita Rae Beard of Hillsboro; a sister, Anne Stickney of Hillsboro; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
