DUNBARTON - Barbara Elizabeth Hill, 81, of Alexander Road, died yesterday at Concord Hospital. She was born in Brockton, Mass., the daughter of Arthur and Agnes (Jackson) Anderson. She graduated from Brockton (Mass.) High School in 1939. She performed, sang and danced for soldiers with the USO during World War II at Camp Edwards in Massachusetts. Hill worked for the Barber Mill in Brockton, Mass., was a homemaker for many years and worked in the quality control department for Sprague Electric for 25 years. She performed in the Sprague Electrical variety shows. She was a parishioner at Warren Avenue Baptist Church in Brockton, Mass., and at East Bible Baptist Church. She had been a parishioner at Country Side Community Church in Contoocook for the past 15 years. She loved the ocean and bird-watching. Survivors include three daughters, Jeanne Lafond of Loudon, Frances Hill of Dunbarton and Linda Porter of Readfield, Maine; a sister, Irene Reed of West Wareham, Mass.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son, David Hill, died in 1987, and another son, Stephen Hill, died in 1989. Calling hours will be held today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Country Side Community Church. Memorial services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Country Side Community Church. The Rev. Lance Claggett, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. GOFFSTOWN - Ruby Naomi Ryan, 90, died Wednesday at Catholic Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Mt. Zion, Ill., the daughter of Douglas and Naomi (Bradley) Nowlin. She worked as a hairdresser in Illinois before retiring. Ryan volunteered at the Mattoon (Ill.) Senior Center and enjoyed dancing. Survivors include four sons, Ricky Ryan of Bow, Richard Ryan of Middletown, Conn., Ronald Ryan of Londonderry and Roger Ryan of Los Angeles; a daughter, Rosalie Kovacs of Lake Sherwood, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her husband of 64 years, Richard Ryan Sr., a son, R. Douglas Ryan, a grandson and a great-granddaughter died previously. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at J.N. Boufford and Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester. Funeral services will be held during calling hours at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Mattoon, Ill. BRADFORD - Harriet M. Brown, 89, died yesterday at Franklin Hospital. She was born in Peacham, Vt., the daughter of Wallace and Nellie Mae (Rogers) Brown. She lived in Peacham, Vt., before moving to Bradford. Brown worked for Merrimack County Telephone Co. for many years and as a nurse's aide at New Hampshire State Hospital for 10 years before retiring. She was a member of the Trinity Bible Church in Sutton, the Sunapee Lake Grange No. 112, Sullivan County Pamona Grange, the New Hampshire State Grange, National Grange, Past NobelGrand Welcome Rebekah Lodge in Warner, and the Senior Center and CAP of Warner. Survivors include three daughters, Mary St. Cyr of Epsom, Lorraine Lacross of West Concord and Sandra Cyr of Tilton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Frank Brown, died in 1994. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Bible Church. Deacon Arthur Gooderal will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Franklin VNA, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin 03235. Winston Lewis "Win" Blake, 85, of Concord, died Monday at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born in Nashua, the son of Rodman and Marion (Hunt) Blake. He lived in East Pepperell, Mass., Nashua and Hudson before moving to Concord. He attended schools in Massachusetts, Nashua and Hudson and graduated from Nashua schools. He served in the Navy during World War II. Blake worked for J.F. McElwain Shoe Factory and later worked in radio broadcasting for stations in Vermont and New Hampshire, rising from announcer to manager. He worked for Evans Radio for nine years and for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department for 11 years before retiring in 1981. He also served as state director of the U.S. Army Military Affiliate Radio Systems for 14 years. He enjoyed radio broadcasting and was a licensed ham radio operator and an advanced class operator. He used the call letters WIFTZ, which were retired after his retirement. He was a member of the Masons since 1951. He served as master of the Eureka Lodge No. 71 F&AM in Concord in 1973. He also served as secretary for 25 years, during which he received an award citation and later received title of secretary emeritus. He also served as district officer in 1975 and was given honorary membership to the Harmony Lodge No. 38 in Hillsboro, the Corinthian Lodge No. 82 in Pittsfield and the Doric Lodge No. 78 in Tilton. He served on many Grand Lodge Committees, including the Committee for the Restoration of the William Pitt Tavern, the Ritual Committee and the Committee for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Among Children. He served as organist in four lodges and occasionally played for others. He was a member of the York and Scottish Rites and received a Fifty Year Veterans' medal in 2001. He was also an honorary life member of the New Hampshire Police Square Club. He was a member of the United Baptist Church in Concord. Survivors include two sons, Karl Blake of Concord and David Blake of Ohio; a daughter, Martha Beck of Concord; two brothers, Richard Blake of Salem and Leonard Blake of Connecticut; two sisters, Beverly Burleigh of Hudson and Mildred Carta of Nashua; eight grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. His wife of 52 years, Rosamond (Urquhart) Blake, died in 1992. Calling hours will not be held. Affordable Funeral Cremation Services Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.

MILFORD - James G. D'Amato, 63, of Shady Lane, died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua after a battle with cancer. He was born in Nashua, the son of Salvatore and Annie (Infanti) D'Amato. He was a lifelong resident of Milford. He graduated from Milford High School in 1958 and from Burdett College in Boston. He served in the New Hampshire National Guard. D'Amato worked for NFS Savings Bank in Nashua from 1963 until retiring in 1995. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Milford. He served as president of the Nashua Chamber of Commerce, as chairman of the United Way Campaign, as president of New Hampshire Cooperative Savings and Loan League, as trustee and treasurer of the Wadleigh Memorial Library, as president of the Boys and Girls Club of Nashua, as president of the Souhegan Nursing Association, as president of the Nashua Senior Center, as president of the Rotary Club of Nashua, West and as national director of the Institute of Financial Education. He was currently active with the Souhegan Valley Boys and Girls Club, the Milford Do-It Main Street Program and Wadleigh Memorial Library Development Fund and was the trustee of trust funds in Milford. Survivors include his wife, Christine (Sigetti) D'Amato of Milford; a son, Anthony D'Amato of Concord; a daughter, Elena Ling of Middletown, Conn.; a brother, Richard D'Amato of Milford; and many nieces and nephews. WASHINGTON - Richard Charles Mortimer, 56, died Wednesday at Concord Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Lynn, Mass., the son of Ralph and Lucille (Dorian) Mortimer. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He lived in Lynn, Mass., before moving to Washington five years ago. Mortimer worked as a carpenter and contractor for WoodStock Remodeling in Lynn, Mass., for 15 years. He also served as director of environmental services at Deveroux Nursing Home in Marblehead, Mass. He ran a contracting business, RC Mortimer-New England Contracting in Lynn, Mass., and Washington. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Hillsboro. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Mariam (Colle) Mortimer of Washington; a daughter, Kerrie Mortimer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Irene Dutra of Antrim and Lauren Bingham of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a granddaughter. Everett L. Angwin, 80, of Fisherville Road in Concord, died Wednesday at the hospice house in Concord. She was born in Concord, the son of Harry and Annie (Thompson) Angwin. He graduated from Concord High School. He worked for Page Belting for more than 47 years. Angwin loved all animals. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Sheila (Lacross) Angwin of Concord; a sister, Beverly Hammar of Clovis, N.M.; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, John Angwin, and a sister, Marion Mahoney, died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the chapel at Blossom Hill Cemetery. WARWICK, R.I. - Stevan M. Forman, 56, of Nichol Avenue and formerly of Danbury, died July 30 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was born in Providence, R.I., the son of Albert Smith and Catherine (Bouchard) Forman-Smith. He lived Danbury before moving to Warwick, R.I., in 1990. He graduated from Chapman University in Orange, Calif., and from the Providence Police Academy. Forman served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. He worked on the Providence (R.I.) police force for many years and as director of loss prevention for the Marriott and Westin Hotels in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He later worked as a superintendent for several construction companies throughout the United States. He also worked as a martial arts instructor in Connecticut. He was a communicant of Saints Rose and Clements parish in Warwick, R.I. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Iannelli) Forman; a son, Spencer Forman of Warwick, R.I.; three daughters, Kimberly Valladares of Plano, Texas, Nicole D'Areangelo of Wilmington, N.C., and Annette D'Areangelo of Dunwoody, Ga.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. at the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Greenwood, Warwick, R.I. BOSCAWEN - Marjorie L. DesRoches, 95, died Tuesday at Merrimack County Nursing Home. She was born in Everett, Mass., the daughter of David and Viola (MacPherson) MacComiskey. She attended schools in Lynn, Mass. She was formerly of North Quincy, Mass.. She then moved to Bristol in 1945, moved to Washington, D.C., in 1960 and later moved to Concord. DesRoches and her husband owned and operated the Bristol Bus and Taxi Service for 16 years, worked as co-administrators of the Methodist Home of Washington, D.C., for several years, and worked as administrators of the New Hampshire Odd Fellows Home in Concord. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Concord and the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Concord Hospital Associates and Concord R.S.V.P. for several years. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Allard Strom of Flagler Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Her husband, J. Frank DesRoches, and two sons, Robert DesRoches and Dean DesRoches, died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Graveside services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Homeland Cemetery in Bristol.
