HOPKINTON - Marcia Gintzler died yesterday at Concord Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Irving and Ruth (Cohen) Cole. She graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Gintzler worked as an art teacher and was comptroller of Bovie Screen Process Printing for 30 years. She was a member of Temple Beth Jacob and Hadassah and served as a board member of the Capitol Center for the Arts, both in Concord. Survivors include her husband, David Gintzler; two sons, Douglas Gintzler of Boston and Jonathan Gintzler of Los Angeles; a brother, Ron Cole of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Judith Judelsohn of Buffalo, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Temple Beth Jacob in Concord. GILFORD - Andre E. Clement, 70, of Lakeshore Drive, died Thursday at the Lakes Region General Hospital. He was born in Manchester, the son of Alfred and Amanda (Rivard) Clement. He was raised in Goffstown. Clement graduated from St. Joseph High School for Boys and enlisted in the Navy upon graduation. He worked for Manchester Hosiery Mills in Goffstown for four years. He worked as a sales representative at Prudential Insurance Company where he later served as manager of the Bedford District office in his 31 years with the company. After retiring, he worked as assistant supervisor at Ellacoya State Park until he became ill. He was a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks No. 876; and a former member of the Pinardville Lions Club and the Pinardville Athletic Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and playing cards. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lucille (Chapdelaine) Clement of Gilford; a son, Daniel Clement of Hancock, Maine; four daughters, Judy Varrill of Loudon, Susan Clement of Allenstown, Sylvia Lacasse of Gilmanton Iron Works and Joanne Chicoine of Goffstown; three brothers, Maurice Clement of Tilton, Romeo Clement of Goffstown and Gerard Clement of Salt Lake City; four sisters, Doris Dupuis, Pauline Thibaudeau and Therese Daniels, all of Goffstown, and Madeline Gauthier of Covington, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Edgar Clement, and a sister, Stella Allaire, died previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 1 to 4 p.m. at Simoneau and Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 290 Union Ave., Laconia. The Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor, will be celebrant. Urn burial will be held at a later date at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. SOUTHINGTON, Conn. - Kevin Eldridge, 43, of Copper Ridge Road, died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Conn. He was born in Manchester, son of Robert and Polly (Parker) Eldridge. He graduated from Concord High School and from the University of Bridgeport, where he earned degrees in biomedical engineering and electrical engineering. Eldridge taught at the Computer Programming Institute in Hartford, Conn., and Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. He also worked as an engineer and as CEO of MIDSUN Group Corp. in Southington, Conn. He held three U.S. patents and had several pending patents for original designs. Survivors include two sons, Maxwell Eldridge and Brian Eldridge, both of Southington, Conn.; his fiancée, Ericka Ehlers of Southington, Conn.; two brothers, Daniel Lassonde of Franklin and Timothy Lessonde of Manchester; two sisters, Ellen Eldridge-Blake of Londonderry and Jane Siefken of Manchester; an aunt and uncle, Robert and Evelyn Lassonde of Concord; and several nieces and nephews. His parents and a sister, Sarah Lassonde, died previously. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, 72 S. Main St., Concord. John "Jack" Hunter Swett, 72, of Sewalls Falls Road, died Wednesday at Concord Hospital. He was born in Orange, Mass., the son of David and Dorothy Swett. He was raised in Winchester and was a 1949 graduate of Winchester High School. He attended the University of New Hampshire for two years. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Swett worked as a crane operator for E.D. Swett Inc. for 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Penacook and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Concord, where he was currently serving as a trustee. He was a 33-year member of the West Congregational Church in Concord, where he was a former trustee and a Webelos Scout leader. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Cleta (Collins) Swett of Concord; one son, David Swett of Concord; one daughter, Melody Swett Spear of Eugene, Ore.; one granddaughter; two step-sisters, Lisa Halttunen of Plainfield, N.J., and Karen Halttunen of California; and several cousins. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the West Congregational Church, 299 N. State St., Concord. Pastor Charles Heslam will officiate. Dorothy T. Foster, 78, of Washington Street in Concord, died Saturday at home. She was born in Boston, the daughter of Robert and Ellen (Brotherston) Tonkin. She was a lifelong resident of Concord and graduated from Concord High School in 1943. Foster worked as a bookkeeper for Orr and Reno Professional Association for 25 years and for Barto and Puffer Law Offices in Concord for several years. She was a dog trainer and a member of the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club. She was active showing poodles and won many awards. Survivors include a sister, Carolyn Reed of Pittsfield; a stepson, Everett Foster of Concord; four step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband of 50 years, Herbert Foster, died in 1994; and a brother, Robert Tonkin, died in 2000. Calling hours will not be held. HILLSBORO - Kendrick L. "Rick" Belanger, 39, died yesterday at Concord Hospital. He was born in Plainview, Long Island, N.Y., the son of George and Alison (Campbell) Belanger. He lived in Plainview, Long Island, before moving to Hillsboro. He graduated from Hillsboro-Deering High School in 1982. Belanger served in the Army. He worked as parts manager for Belanger Auto Parts in Hillsboro. He was a past member and volunteer of the Hillsboro Fire Department. Survivors include his parents, of Hillsboro; three brothers, Randall Belanger, Kevin Belanger and Russell Belanger, all of Hillsboro; grandparents, Leland and Alta Campbell of Marlow; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. YADKINVILLE, N.C. - Stephen Aloysius O'Neill, 78, of East Lee Avenue, died Sept. 5 at Wake Forest United Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was born in Boston, the son of Stephen Sr. and Lillian (Crowley) O'Neill. He served with the Navy during World War II and was a member of the U.S. Navy Band. He had previously lived in Level Cross, N.C., and in Sanbornton for 25 years. O'Neill was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He had worked in maintenance for the state of New Hampshire. Survivors include two sons, Stephen O'Neill of Bow and James O'Neill of Sanbornton; a daughter, Mary O'Neill of Mocksville, N.C.; two sisters, Sister Grace O'Neill of Wakefield, Mass., and Irene Anglin of Raleigh, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. His wife, Mary (Carney) O'Neill, his parents and a brother, Ralph O'Neill, died previously. Calling hours were held at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, N.C. BARNSTEAD - Betty L. Burbank, 78, of Province Road, died Tuesday at the Concord Regional VNA's Hospice House in Concord. She was born the daughter of Levi Kimball and Esther (Ekvall) Ladd. She lived in Loudon from 1930 until moving to Pittsfield in 1944. She moved to Barnstead in 1989. She worked as a homemaker. Burbank was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Pittsfield, where she was a member of the Dorcas Guild and the choir and taught Sunday school. She served as Girl Scout leader and was a 4-H leader for 25 years. Survivors include a son, Frank Burbank of Sidney, Maine; four daughters, Mary LeDuc of Pittsfield, Joan Case of Weare, Lydia Mahlstedt of Loudon and Betty Burbank of Barnstead; a brother, Levi Ladd of Loudon; two sisters, Mary Johnson of Crestline, Calif., and Pauline Dodge of Pittsfield; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. GILFORD - Cecelia A. Fitzgerald, 96, of Old Lake Shore Road, died Saturday at Genesis Eldercare Network Laconia Center in Laconia. She was born in Bangor, Maine, the adopted daughter of Melvin and Catherine (Prescott) Gerry. She was raised in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, and lived in Malden, Mass., and Medford, Mass. for most of her life. She moved to Gilford in 1994. She graduated from Clark County High School in Las Vegas, Nev. Fitzgerald worked as a nurse's aid at many hospitals and nursing homes in Massachusetts. She was a mother to more than 40 foster children and raised three to adulthood. Survivors include a son, William Fitzgerald of Jupiter, Fla.; five daughters, Gertrude Fitzgerald of Medford, Mass., Cecelia Drever of Gilford, Ruth DeFeo of Newburg, Maine, Janice Koch of Pelham and Wilma Pappalardo of West Yarmouth, Mass.; 22 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Her husband, William Fitzgerald, died in 1977; and a daughter, Anne Freeman, died in 1994. HILLSBORO - Janice M. McGregor, 87, died Monday at her daughter's home. She was born in Henniker, the daughter of Oliver and Florence (Brown) Daniels. She lived in Henniker before moving to Hillsboro 10 years ago. She graduated from Henniker High School. McGregor worked for G.T.E. Sylvania in Hillsboro for 15 years before retiring. She was a member of the Henniker Congregational Church. Survivors include a son, John McGregor III of Contoocook; a daughter, Beverly Morse of Hillsboro; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, John McGregor, died in 1993; and a brother, Ronald Daniels Sr., a sister, Elinor Gould, and a grandson, Gary Morse, died previously.
