WILMOT - Evangeline G. Rayno, 89, of Village Road, died Monday at New London Hospital.
She was born in Limestone, Maine, the daughter of Frederick and Leah (Corrow) Berube. She graduated from Limestone, Maine, High School.
She had lived in the Wilmot area for 70 years, and had lived at Fox Chase in South Sutton for the past two months.
She worked at New London Hospital and Colby-Sawyer College for approximately 30 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a communicant and founder of Immaculate Conception Church in Potter Place, where she was also a member of the choir and the Rosary Altar Society and a CCD teacher.
She enjoyed needlework, sewing, gardening, braiding rugs, reading and baby-sitting.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Rayno; and brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan O'Brien of Nashua; four sons, Gerald Rayno, Keith Rayno and David Rayno, all of Wilmot, and Peter Rayno of Bow; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vivan Berube of Auburn, Maine; four sisters, Georgianna Mullally of Waterbury, Conn.; Mabel Moser of Franktown, Colo., Laura Morey of Concord and Cecelia Sargeant of Newport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Chadwick Funeral Home, 174 Main St., New London.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Potter Place. Spring burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wilmot.

Arlene Landry, FRANKLIN

FRANKLIN - Arlene Landry, 78, of Woodridge Road, died Wednesday at Franklin Regional Hospital.
She was born in Tilton, the daughter of John and Ellen (Entwistle) Tyrer. She was a graduate of Tilton School. She lived in the area all her life.
She was a communicant of St. Paul's Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Landry.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Healy of Scarborough, Maine; Judith Landry of Miami, Fla., and Paula Pastuszak of Laconia; two sons, John Landry of Naples, Fla., and Stephen Landry of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Graham of Pawley's Island, S.C.; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church. Spring burial will be in Franklin Cemetery.

Karen C. Brown, LOUDON

LOUDON - Karen C. Brown, 55, of Pine Ridge Road, died Dec. 13, 1998, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
She was born in Pittsfield, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Hall) Beard.
She was a home health aide for the Concord Regional Visiting Nurses Association, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 37 years, William Brown Sr. of Loudon; two sons, William Brown Jr. and Scott Brown both of Concord; two daughters, Gail Gibeau and April Eastman both of Penacook; seven grandchildren; a brother, Algie Beard of Boscawen; two sisters, Sandra Martin of Pembroke and Norma Gasper of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held already.

Charles P. Johnson III, HENNIKER

HENNIKER - Charles "Chip" P. Johnson III, 43, of Henniker, died Wednesday at Concord Hospital.
He was born in Concord, the son of Charles and Rita (Dane) Johnson Jr., and moved to Henniker more than 15 years ago.
He was a sales representative for Jordan Equipment Company, Pembroke, and a security guard at the Hopkinton fairs.
He was a 1974 graduate of Hopkinton High School.
He was a past president of the Hopkinton Lions Club and a member of the Henniker Trail Travelers.
He was an avid NASCAR fan.
He also coached softball and baseball in Henniker for many years.
He was predeceased by his father.
In addition to his mother of Concord, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kimberly (McGuire) Johnson of Henniker; a son, Rusty Johnson of Henniker; a daughter, Colleen Johnson of Henniker; a sister, Jill Power of Loudon; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Holt Funeral Home, 3 Hall Ave., Henniker.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Henniker Congregational Church.
The Rev. Russ Rowland, pastor, will officiate the funeral service. Spring burial will be in Henniker New Cemetery.

Edith Atkins , WINDSOR

WINDSOR - Edith (Baines) Atkins, 54, of Washington Road, died yesterday at the Hospice House in Concord.
She was born in Patterson, N.J., the daughter of Kenneth George and Mary (White) Baines.
She was a graduate of Ridgewood High School in New Jersey, Class of 1963. She attended college in Northhampton, Mass. She lived in New Jersey and Burlington, Vt., and worked as a teacher's aide in Henniker public schools and in the Con-Val School District in Greenfield as an educational assistant.
She married her husband in 1968.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Robert Atkins of Windsor; a son, Shawn Atkins of Washington; a daughter, Courtney Atkins of Windsor; a grandchild; two sisters, Caryl Matsis of Merrimack; Katherine Stoddard of Littleton; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Woodbury & Son Funeral Home, 32 School St., tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church, Washington, Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Cranston officiating.
Burial will be in the Center Cemetery in Washington in the spring.

Earl R. Castor

Earl R. Castor, 76, of the Merrimack County Home in Boscawen, died at the Concord Hospice House following a long illness.
He was born in Cambridge, Mass., the son of Philip and Maud (Letteney) Castor. He is a veteran of WWII. He worked for 20 years at the Woburn (Mass.) Country Club. He has lived in this area for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Hayes) Castor of Concord; a son, Gordon Castor of Lake Park., Ga.; three daughters, Kathleen Haughton of Greensboro, N.C.; Janice Thompson of Allenstown; and Carol Harless of Concord; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip Castor of Somerville, Mass., and George Castor of Rockland, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held today in the Perkins Funeral Home, 60 Main St., Pittsfield, from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Pittsfield tomorrow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. Robert J. Maigret, WATERTOWN, N.Y.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. - Robert J. Maigret, 90, a relative of area residents, died Jan. 23 at Genesis HealthCare in Watertown, N.Y.
He was born in Attleboro, Mass., the son of Henry and Barthley Doyle Maigret, and attended Attleboro schools.
He was a veteran of World War II and joined the U.S. Army in December 1941. He served as a technician fifth grade with the 45th Division and saw duty in the North Africa and Anzio campaigns, and also in the invasion of Sicily and South France.
His company liberated the Dachau concentration camp. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign ribbon with a bronze service arrowhead.
After the war, he remained friends with residents of Epinal, where his name is listed on a statue with other members of the company that liberated the town.
He was employed by the Attleboro Sun newspaper as a compositor. In 1948, he moved to Watertown, N.Y., where he was employed by the Watertown Daily Times. He retired in 1973 after a career as a typesetter, compositor and proofreader.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Watertown, N.Y., and was a former member of the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Watertown, N.Y.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 61, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1400 and the North Side Improvement League. He also was a life member of the Watertown Elks Lodge No. 496.
He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Watertown Golf Club.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Power Maigret, in 1968. His second wife, Ercel Cassidy McKee Maigret, died in 1979. He married Mary A. Bates Callahan in 1980.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Maigret of Lockport, N.Y.; a daughter, Katherine Crabb of Bow; two stepsons, Michael Callahan of Chelmsford, Mass., and Timothy Callahan of South Carolina; three stepdaughters, Colleen Callahan of Pasadena, Texas, Patricia Callahan of Marino Valley, Calif., and Bridget Weed of Watertown, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Conrad Maigret of Attleboro, Mass.; a sister, Doris Morris of Laconia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by 10 brothers and sister.
Calling hours were held Jan. 25 at the Cummings Funeral Home in Watertown, N.Y.
A prayer service was held Jan. 26 at the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated at the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Watertown, N.Y.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Robert J. Maigret, 90, who was a patient at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital from February to August 1995, died Jan. 23 at Genesis HealthCare in Watertown, N.Y.

Joseph J. Corkery II
MIDDLETON - Joseph J. Corkery II, 45, relative of area residents, died Sunday at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a long illness.
He was born in Boston, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Doherty) Corkery. He had lived in Middleton for seven months, and had previously lived in Farmington for 10 years. He was an attorney and a member of the American Bar Association.
He was a member of St. Peter's Church in Farmington and was affiliated with St. Charles Children's Home in Rochester, Holy Rosary Church in Rochester and St. Mary's Church in Rochester.
In addition to his mother of Farmington, he is survived by his wife, Cecilia "Ce" Corkery of Middleton; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Parrott of Concord; two grandsons; a sister, Margaret Kirk of Greenwich, R.I.; and three nephews.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Charles Street, Rochester.
The Rev. Armand Turgeon will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Roxbury, Mass., at a later date.
