Eliza A. Emerson, 111, of McKinley Street, died yesterday. She was born in Pembroke, the daughter of Albert and Ettie (Leaver) Ames. She was a 1907 graduate of Pembroke Academy.
She worked as a self-employed seamstress for many years, retiring in 1985 at the age of 97.
Her husband of 20 years, George Emerson, died in 1942. A nephew, Phillip Brown, died in 1997.
She is survived by two nieces, Elizabeth Ruggles of Lewisville, Texas, and Beverly DaNault of Canterbury; and a nephew, Erwin Ames of Concord.
A calling hour will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to tomorrow's funeral service.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home Chapel, 3 Church St., Concord.
Burial will be held immediately after the service in Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.
Alfred L. Merchant, NASHUA

NASHUA - Alfred L. Merchant, 90, a Nashua chiropractor and a relative of area residents, died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.
He was born in Everett, Mass., the son of William and Sophia Merchant. He graduated from Everett High School and was a 1934 graduate of The Palmer School of Chiropractic in Iowa.
He had a chiropractic practice in Nashua for more than 60 years.
He served as president of the New Hampshire Chiropractic Association, was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Rotary Club and a member of the Holy Name Society.
He was a communicant of St. Christopher Church.
He was predeceased by his wife, Grace (Proudy) Merchant, who died in 1982, and by a daughter, Dorothy Merchant.
Survivors includes his sons Joseph Merchant of Hampton, David Merchant of Bristol, Thomas Merchant of Lansdale, Pa., William Merchant of Hudson, Robert Merchant of Poinciana, Fla., and James Merchant of Syracuse, N.Y.; a daughter, Jane Kleiner of Concord; a brother, William Merchant of Boca Raton, Fla., 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Calling hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the St. Laurent Funeral Home, 116 Elm St., Nashua.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson.

Marcel G. Parenteau, FRANKLIN

FRANKLIN - Marcel G. Parenteau, 76, of Damy Drive and formerly of 91 Elkins St., died yesterday at Hospice House in Concord.
He was born in Precieux Sang, Quebec, Canada, the son of Hervey and Mary Jane (Perreault) Parenteau.
He moved to Franklin in the 1940s and worked for several years at Harvey Construction in Manchester. He helped build St. Paul's School in Concord. Later he worked as a lumberjack. He retired in 1982.
He was a communicant of St. Paul's Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following local sports.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Theresa (Beaumier) Parenteau of Franklin; three sons, Pierre Parenteau of Franklin, Andre Parenteau of Andover, and John Paul Parenteau of Northfield; three daughters, Jeannette Weeman of Pembroke, Marie Mead of Sanbornton, and Christine Kimball of Contoocook; 12 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Maurice Parenteau of Precieux Sang, and Remi Parenteau of St. Catherine, Ontario, Canada; and nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be tomorrow night from 6 to 9 at the Thibault-Neun Funeral Home in Franklin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Rita Helen Renfors, BOSCAWEN

BOSCAWEN - Rita Helen Renfors, 83, died Thursday at home.
She was born in Concord, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Dutile) Trepanier. She lived in the Penacook-Boscawen area all of her life.
She co-owned and co-managed the Renfors Poultry Farm on Borough Road in Penacook for many years.
She later worked at the State House cafeteria for about four years before her retirement.
She was predeceased by her husband Reima Renfors in 1972.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Renfors of Valparaiso, Ind. and David Renfors of Salisbury; two sisters, Cecilia Raymond and Lillian Barton, both of Manchester; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Penacook. After the services, friends and relatives are invited back to her home at 43 Daniel Webster Highway.

Jason W. Johndro, PORTSMOUTH

PORTSMOUTH - Jason W. Johndro, 68, of Woodbury Avenue, died Saturday at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
He was born in Lebanon, the son of Charles Johndro and Mary (Aldrich) Johndro Davis.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He was a machinist and worked in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Illinois.
Survivors include a son, Bryon Johndro of Rutland, Mass.; a granddaughter; two brothers, Harry Johndro of Portsmouth and Gary Davis of Spofford; two sisters, Faith Downes of Andover and Hope LeBrun of Hammond, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 174 Main St., New London.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Andover Congregational Church in East Andover. The Rev. John Wagner, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Proctor Cemetery, Andover.

FRANKLIN - Lena Rose Driganti, 96, formerly of Oak Street, died yesterday at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen.
She was born in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of John and Mary (Torri) Gardini. She lived on Oak Street for more than 50 years before moving to Mountain Crest in Franklin.
She was the widow of Charles Driganti, who died in 1968. The couple and their family owned and operated Franklin Ice Cream Bar and Franklin Fruit.
She was a communicant of St. Paul Church.
Survivors include a son, Donald Driganti, formerly of Franklin and now a resident of Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen; and nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A Mass of Christian burial will be follow at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Church. Burial will be held in St. Lambert Cemetery, Laconia.

Lorraine M. Page, EPSOM

EPSOM - Lorraine M. Page, 64, died Saturday at the Epsom Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born in Pittsfield, the daughter of George and Mary (Auger) Chagnon. She lived in Pittsfield for most of her life.
For 12 years, she cooked, cleaned and cared for the elderly residents at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen. She also worked for two years at Beede Electric Co.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Robert Page Sr., of Pittsfield; two sons, Robert Page Jr. of Pittsfield and James Page of Gilmanton; three brothers, Raymond Chagnon of Loudon, Norman Chagnon of Boscawen and Oscar Chagnon of Seabrook; and eight grandchildren.
A visiting hour will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Perkins Funeral Home, 60 Main St., Pittsfield. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in Moore Cemetery in Loudon.
Marjorie A. Stewart

Marjorie A. Stewart, 78, of Riverview Lane and a winter resident of Englewood, Fla., died Saturday at Concord Hospital.
She was born in Colebrook, the daughter of Karl and Charlotte (Holbrook) Edwards. She graduated from Colebrook Academy in 1938 and from Concord Business School in 1939.
She was a bookkeeper for the New Hampshire Farm Bureau for 30 years before retiring in 1983.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Martha Circle.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Herbert Stewart; a son, Brian Stewart of Massachusetts; a daughter, Margaret Neal of Freeport, Maine; two grandchildren; and six nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Richard Stewart, in 1952 and a brother, Holbrook Edwards.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Concord. The Rev. Joel Guillemette, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held Thursday at Colebrook Village Cemetery.

Rev. John T. Sullivan, SAN DIEGO

SAN DIEGO - The Rev. John T. Sullivan, 82, formerly of Concord, died Sept. 19 at the Cloisters Care Facility in San Diego after a long illness.
He was born in Concord, son of Timothy and Nora (Collins) Sullivan. He attended St. Peter's School and was a 1934 graduate of St. John's High School. He attended Saint Anselm's College in 1938.
He attended the Theological Seminary in Baltimore and completed his studies at Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md., in 1938.
He was ordained in St. Joseph's Cathedral in Manchester in 1942 and served in parishes throughout New Hampshire until 1956. He served for 26 years in the Arizona Diocese, where he was responsible for overseeing construction of three churches and several schools. He retired in 1982 and moved to San Diego.
Survivors include a brother, Herbert Sullivan of Tilton; two sisters, Clara Sullivan and Mary Griffin, both of Concord; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by three brothers, James Sullivan, Paul Sullivan and Edward Sullivan; and a sister, Margaret Shurtleff.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 24 at the Nazareth House in San Diego. Burial was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Kingman, Ariz.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 135 N. State St., Concord.
