George A. Wunderlee, GOFFSTOWN

Tuesday, November 2, 1999

GOFFSTOWN - George A. Wunderlee, 91, of Goffstown, died Monday at Franklin Regional Hospital in Franklin.

He was born in Berthoud, Colo., the son of John and Harriet Wunderlee.

He lived in the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, and previously lived in Goffstown.

He retired from J.F. McElwain of Manchester where he worked as a mechanic for many years.

He served the Army during World War II as a member of the 908th Field Artillery Battalion in Europe.

He is survived by many friends.

Calling hours will be tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. at French & Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., Goffstown. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester.

French & Rising Funeral Home of Goffstown is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie J. Wagner, GREEN VALLEY, Ariz.

GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. - Marjorie J. Wagner, 82, of Green Valley, Ariz., and a former area resident, died Sunday after a long illness.

She was born in West Claremont, the daughter of George and Ethel Wagner.

She graduated from Stevens High School.

She was a 30 year employee with New England Telephone/NYNEX, retiring in 1978 as the most senior female manager.

She retired to Green Valley with her longtime companion, Priscilla Clark. She was also a member of the Lazy M Bridge Club, the Green Valley Elks, and the Green Valley Community Church. She also attended the Elkins Chapel in New Hampshire.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Norman; and her sister, Evelyn Brass.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Hull of Claremont; several nephews; many grandnephews and grand nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Green Valley Community Church, Green Valley, Ariz., with the Rev. F. David Weber officiating. Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Union Cemetery in West Claremont at the family plot.

Memorial donations may be made to the Green Valley Community Church, Green Valley, Ariz.

The Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan St., Claremont is in charge of arrangements.

Julia Becker, GAITHERSBURG, Md.

Tuesday, November 2, 1999

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Julia Becker, 86, of Gaithersburg, Md., and a relative of area residents, died Oct. 14.

She was born in Brockton, Mass., the daughter of Amedeo and Mary (Perry) Mackenzie.

She worked at the Palais Royale during the 1930s and 40s, and also worked in the family shoe repair business at Woodworth & Lothrop's Washington, D.C. store. She was also active in the Lioness Club, and spent several years editing their newsletter, in addition to working at the Apple Festival.

She was also an accomplished artist who created a collection of decorative eggs as well as ceramics and oil and tole paintings.

She was predeceased by her husband, Emil Becker; a son, Emile Joseph Becker; two brothers, Frank and John Mackenzie; and a sister, Stella Moon.

She is survived by a daughter, Rose Marie Lanier of Concord; two sons, John Becker of Breese, Ill., and Joseph Becker of Damascus, Md.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister; a brother; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Oct. 18th at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Damascus, Md. Interment took place on Oct. 19 at the Damascus Cemetery in Big Cover Tannery, Pa.

Donations may be made to the Hancock Lioness Club, care of June Mills, Secretary, P.O. Box 475, Hancock, Md. 21750, or to your favorite charity.

The Olin Molesworth Funeral Home of Damascus, Md., was in charge of arrangements.

Helen E. Sherburne, HENNIKER

Tuesday, November 2, 1999

HENNIKER - Helen E. Shurburne, 68, of Henniker, died Sunday at her home.

She was born in Epsom, the daughter of Arthur and Hazel (Baily) Sherburne.

She attended the Henniker Congregational Church.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Maurice Sherburne; and three sisters, Marjorie Clattenburg, Grace Baldino and Viola Sherburne.

She is survived by a brother, Everett Sherburne of Chichester; a sister, Evelyn Zanes of Strafford; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Henniker Congregational Church. The Rev. Russ Rowland will officiate.

Burial will be in Leavitt Cemetery in Chichester.

Jean D. Bellaud, MANCHESTER

Monday, November 1, 1999

MANCHESTER - Jean D. Bellaud, 103, of Holly Avenue in Manchester died Saturday at Courville in Manchester after a brief illness.

He was born in Louzignac, France, the son of Noe and Adelina (Bolleau) Bellaud and came to the United States as a young man.

He served in the French Army during World War I and was recently awarded the French Medal of Honor for his service during the war.

Bellaud worked as a machinist at the Portsmouth Navy Shipyard and later at Granite State Machine Co. until his retirement at age 65.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Bellaud received the Sportsman of the Year Award on his 100th birthday by the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation. Throughout his life, Bellaud was a member of numerous area sporting clubs.

He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church in Manchester.

He is survived by one son, Louis Bellaud of Bow; one daughter, Francis Aziz of Schenectady, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Urilda (Belanger) Bellaud, who died in 1976; a daughter, Itha Bellaud; and a son, Jean-Paul Bellaud.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Lambert Funeral Home at 1799 Elm St. in Manchester. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester 03103.

Louise R. Sawyer, FRANKLIN

Tuesday, November 2, 1999

FRANKLIN - Louise R. Sawyer, 71, of Franklin, died yesterday at a Manchester hospital.

She was born in Wilton, Maine, the daughter of Claris and Rose (Belanger) Ranger.

She was a resident of Franklin for the past six years. Before that, she had lived in Manchester for 42 years.

At the time of her employment, she worked for Summit Packaging in Manchester for 16 years. She was also a member of Gold Star Mothers, American League Auxiliary in Franklin, Purple Hearts, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Franklin.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Sawyer; a son, Robert Sawyer; a brother, Robert Ranger; and a sister, Lorraine Viers.

She is survived by a son, David Sawyer of Angler, N.C.; two daughters, Anita Nolan of Manchester, and Irene Lewis of Belmont; six granddaughters; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Madeline Branham of North Jay, Maine, Marian Durrell of Farmington, Maine, and Ruby Allen of Farmington, Maine; and many nieces and nephews, two aunts; and one uncle.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Rickard, with the Helping Hands Outreach Center, will officiate the service. Burial will take place at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester.

Donations in his memory may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home Benefit Fund, P.O. Box 229, Tilton 03276.

Mary Daniels Lemaire, LACONIA

Monday, November 1, 1999

LACONIA - Mary R. (Lemay) Daniels Lemaire, 85 , of Darby Road, died Friday at Lakes Region General Hospital.

She was born the daughter of Jean-Baptiste and Lea (Boutin) Lemay. She was a longtime resident of the Woodsville area before spending her time between Barnstead and Naples, Fla. She had been a resident of Laconia since 1996.

Lemaire was self-employed as a seamstress for many years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia.

She is survived by a son, Robert Daniels of Laconia, and four granddaughters.

She was predeceased by her second husband, Henry Lemaire, who died in 1996; by her first husband, Ralph Daniels, who died in 1958; and by a daughter, Doreen Daniels of Littleton, who died in 1989.

There are no calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in Laconia with the Rev. Gary Kosmowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bath.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St. Laconia 03246.

The Dewhirst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Paul F. Hoeker, LACONIA

Tuesday, November 2, 1999

LACONIA - Paul F. Hoeker, 88, of Laconia, died yesterday.

He was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1936.

He was a member of the Masons for over 50 years.

He was the founder of P.H. Precision Products in Pembroke. He began P.H. Precision in 1950, in Queens, N.Y., and moved to New Hampshire in 1992, shortly after the company moved. It now employs over 75 people in Pembroke.

One of his proudest moments came in 1986, when he celebrated his 50th year in America.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gertrude; two sons, Paul and Richard Hoeker, five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Dewhirst Funeral Home, 1061 Union Ave., Laconia. Services will be held immediately after at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Rob Robb of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2238 Parade Road, Laconia 03246.

The Dewhirst Funeral Home of Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.
