Vincent S. Wickham Jr.
Wednesday, August 2, 2000
Vincent "Vinnie" S. Wickham Jr., 62, died July 24 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home.
He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., the son of Vincent and Dorothy (Callen) Wickham.
He lived in Concord since 1959.
He enjoyed basketball, football, baseball and writing poetry.
He followed the Babe Ruth League.
Survivors include a sister, Sally Mollomo of Milwaukee; cousins Clyde and Nancy Benedict of Claremont; several nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend, Molly Dewitt of Concord.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Concord.
The Waters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Doris E. O'Shaughnessy, LACONIA
Thursday, August 3, 2000
LACONIA - Doris E. O'Shaughnessy, 72, of Messer Street, died yesterday at Concord Hospital.
She was born in Freehold, N.J., the daughter of Walter and Marion (Addison) Yetman. She had been a resident of Laconia since 1976.
She was a graduate of New Brunswick (N.J.) High School and the Newark (N.J.) School of Fine Industrial Arts. She also attended Plymouth State College.
She was an artist.
She was a member of the Congregational Church of Laconia and a member of the National Museum of Women Artists in Washington, D.C.
Survivors include a son, John O'Shaughnessy of Northfield; three daughters, Doris Taylor of Largo, Fla., Jan Thomas of Lakeland, Fla., and Hope O'Shaughnessy of Amherst, Mass.; eight grandchildren; a sister, Alice Buckelew of Edison, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Union Cemetery in Laconia. The Rev. E. Barent Grevatt, pastor of the Congregational Church of Laconia, will officiate.
The Dewhirst Funeral Home of Laconia is in charge of arrangements.

Ann W. Beth, LEXINGTON, Mass.
Thursday, August 3, 2000
LEXINGTON, Mass. - Ann W. Beth, 91, died Tuesday at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for the Aged in Boston.
She was born in Austria, the daughter of Bessie and Samuel Wollock. She was raised in Malden, Mass., and moved to Lexington, Mass., in 1969.
She was a life member of the sisterhood at the Temple Isaiah in Lexington, Mass., and volunteered at the Choate Hospital.
She enjoyed opera, cake decorating, reading and oil painting.
Survivors include a son, John Beth of Hyde Park, Mass.; a daughter, Pamela Grob of Henniker; a granddaughter; and a grandson.
Graveside services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Roxbury Mutual Society in Woburn, Mass.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for the Aged, 1200 Centre St., Roslindale, Mass.

Mary J. Parks, WEARE
Thursday, August 3, 2000
WEARE - Mary J. Parks, 57, died yesterday at the Hospice House in Concord after a long illness.
She was born in North Wilmington, Mass., the daughter of Raymond and Anne (Paltrini) Banks. She spent most of her life in Weare.
She was employed by the New Hampshire State Hospital as a mental health worker for 23 years.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward H. Parks, in 1987.
Surviors include two sons, Richard Parks and Frank Parks, both of Weare; two daughters, Jean Stafford of Hillsboro and Karen Varney of Weare; three brothers, James Banks of Epsom and Louis Banks and Raymond Banks, both of Weare; nine grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be tonight from 7 to 9 at the French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 S. Mast St., Goffstown.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the East Cemetary in Weare.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice House, 200 Pleasant St., Concord 03301.

Dorothy A. Kelleher, PAXTON, Mass.
Friday, August 4, 2000
PAXTON, Mass. - Dorothy A. Kelleher, 72, died July 24 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Willard and Louise (Morgan) French.
She graduated from Westbrook College in Maine.
She was an artist, interior designer and gardener.
She was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Cameron, in 1997.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Robert Kelleher Sr., of Paxton, Mass.; three daughters, Robin Stamm of Epsom, Gail Burke and Lisa Farnham, both of Spencer, Mass.; three sons, Robert Kelleher Jr. of Fair Oaks, Calif., Sean Kelleher of San Lorenzo, Calif., and Brian Kelleher of Los Angeles; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Greeley of Swampscott, Mass.; a brother, Arthur French, of Sterling, Mass.; eight grandchildren; several sons and daughters in law; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services were held July 27 at the Congregational Church of Paxton, Mass.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Program of Worcester, Mass., the American Cancer Society or an art museum.

C. Langdon Kenney, PITTSFIELD
Friday, August 4, 2000
PITTSFIELD - C. Langdon Kenney, 84, died Wednesday at the Concord Hospital.
He was born in Loudon Ridge, the son of Forrest and Emma (Towle) Kenney.
As a young man, he drove a truck for John Osborne and worked at Pelissier's Garage in Pittsfield. He owned and operated Kenney's Garage for 25 years before retiring to Gilmanton Iron Works in 1978. He later worked as a part-time mechanic.
He was a past grand of the Odd Fellows, IOOF. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Pittsfield.
He enjoyed gardening and working in the woods. He was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Bettie Foss; and a brother, J. Rockwell Kenney.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Louise (French) Kenney; a son, John Kenney of Gilford; three daughters, Kathleen Connors of Rochester, Linda Kenney of Manchester and Patricia Hayes of Barnstead; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; a cousin; and many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, Main Street, Pittsfield. The Rev. Charles Paige-Morgan will officiate.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gilmanton Rescue Squad.
The Perkins Funeral Home of Pittsfield is in charge of arrangements.

Catherine Sullivan, BOSCAWEN
Friday, August 4, 2000
BOSCAWEN - Catherine Sullivan, 79, died July 29 at Concord Hospital.
She was born in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of James and Rose (Arvanitis) Panagopolous. She lived in Concord for many years before moving to Boscawen several years ago.
She worked as a schoolteacher for many years.
She is survived by a brother, Leo Panos.
Calling hours will be held today from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord.

Michael E. Bandecchi, MANCHESTER
Friday, August 4, 2000
MANCHESTER - Michael E. Bandecchi, 28, died Tuesday after a fall from a high rise in Boston, Mass.
He was born in Summit, N.J., the son of Edward and Linda (Hitchcock) Bandecchi. He was raised in Deerfield.
He attended Pembroke Academy while working in welding with the Concord Vocational Educationprogram.
He worked for Rescue Welding in Somersworth.
He was a member of the Local 7 Ironworkers Union in Boston.
He was predeceased by his father in 1978.
Survivors include his mother, of Deerfield; two brothers, Keith Bandecchi of Sturbridge, Mass., and Matthew Bandecchi of Laconia; and his companion, Michelle Henderson of Nashua. He is also survived by his extended family in Connecticut and many friends.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton, Conn.
A church service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church, Route 151, Middle Haddam, Conn.
A memorial service will be held Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Community Church in Deerfield.
Burial will be held at the Lake View Cemetery in East Hampton, Conn.

Dorothy C. Barker
Friday, August 4, 2000
Dorothy C. Barker, 76, of Pleasant Street, died yesterday at the Pleasant View Center.
She was born in Middletown Springs, Vt., the daughter of Clement and Gertrude (Ballard) Mitchell. She was a Concord resident for more than 50 years.
He was employed in the Concord area.
She was a companion to many elderly people and did a great deal of volunteer work.
She was predeceased by her husband, Forrest Barker.
Survivors include a son, Michael Barker of Manchester; four sisters, Maida Rogers of Warner, Della Chadwick of Concord, Kathleen Anderson of Bradford, and Meta Greenough of Hopkinton; four grandsons; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held tomorrow morning at 11 at the Millwoods Cemetary, South Sutton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant View Center, 239 Pleasant St., Concord 03301.
Chadwick Funeral Service of New London is in charge of arrangements.

Richard 'Dick' Smart, 89, community leader

NORTHFIELD
NORTHFIELD - Richard "Dick" P. Smart, 89, a longtime community leader,died yesterday at Franklin Regional Hospital following a period of failing health.
He was born in Tilton, son of Fred and Caroline (Webster) Smart. He was a lifelong resident of the Tilton-Northfield communities.
He graduated from Tilton School in 1933 and later Brown University.
He served with the Maritime Service during World War II.
He worked briefly in Manchester in the building and loan business. He returned to Tilton and found the Smart Agency, a fire and casualty insurance firm. He was appointed superintendent of the former Golden Rule Farm in 1948, serving for more than five years. He later became a member of its board of trustees. In 1958, he served as a chairman of a unifying committee that merged the Golden Rule Farm in Northfield with the Daniel Webster Home for Children in Franklin to establish the now existing Spaulding Youth Center in Northfield, where he served as a trustee.
He also served for over 28 years as a moderator for the town of Northfield and was a charter member and past president of the Northfield Historical Society. He was also a charter member and first treasurer of the Tilton-Northfield Recreation Council and member of the governing board for the Youth Assistance Program.
He was actively involved with and a member of the N.H. Mental Health Association. He co-founded the Twin Rivers Counseling Center Association in Franklin in 1970. He served as a board member and president of the Twin Rivers Advisory Committee.
He was honored by the town of Northfield in 1985 and 1988 for his public service. He was also named "Citizen of the Year" by the Old Home Day committee in Northfield in 1988. He was active with the former Winnisquam Regional Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Franklin Unitarian Universalist Congregation.
He was an avid golfer and was the first member of the Den Brae Golf Course in Sanbornton, playing there for over 45 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nan (Wells) Smart, in 1995.
Survivors include three nieces, Sheila Smart Sicilia of Dewitt, N.Y., Carolyn Skaggs and Betsy Mead; a nephew, Donald Hall of Wilmot; a great-niece, Philippa Smith; and two great-nephews, Arthur Sicilia and Andrew Hall.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Fred Smart Chapel, Tilton School, School Street Tilton.
A reception will follow at the Tilton-Northfield Pines Community Center in Northfield.
Memorial donations may be made to the Richard Smart Memorial Fund, the Spaulding Youth Center or the Tilton-Northfield Recreation Center, c/o Franklin Savings Bank, P.O. Box 339, Franklin 03235.
The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton is in charge of arrangements.
