Gordon E. Lucier Sr., 64, of Fisherville Road in Concord, died Saturday at home after a brief illness.
He was born in Concord, the son of Wilfred and Alice (Chagnon) Lucier.
He attended Concord High School.
He worked as a house painter for most of his life.
He had served as a member of the New Hampshire National Guard and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting.
He was predeceased by a son, Gordon Lucier Jr., in January.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary (Martin) Lucier of Concord; a son, Mark Lucier of Concord; two daughters, Tammy Thibeault and Terri Brown, both of Concord; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Dore and Beatrice Price, both of Concord, and Beverly Huckins of Penacook; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Concord.

PITTSFIELD - E. Barbara Watkins, 78, died yesterday at Concord Hospital following a long illness.
She was born in Portsmouth, the daughter of Henry and Maude (Forrence) Erickson. She had been a Pittsfield resident for the past 44 years.
She worked at the Globe Manufacturing Company in Pittsfield for more than 30 years.
She was a member of the New Voice Club and spent time speaking at Concord Hospital and the University of New Hampshire. She was also a volunteer for the Clothes Closet in Pittsfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Watkins; and two children, Marc Watkins and Cheryl Watkins.
Survivors include a son, Robert Watkins of Barnstead; a daughter, Judy Williamson of Nashua; four granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; a sister, Martha Cournoyer of Portsmouth; and many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Perkins Funeral Home, 60 Main St., Pittsfield. The Rev. Charles Paige-Morgan, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate.

FRANKLIN - Nelson E. Howard, 97, died yesterday in DeBary, Fla.
He was born in Sanbornton, the son of Edward and Georgianna (Morrison) Howard. He had been a resident of Franklin for most of his life.
He was employed at the Sulloway Mills for 18 years. He later owned and operated Shepard Wholesale Grocery for 10 years. He was a former president of the KMH Corp., the PEM Corp. and Sulloway Industries. He built and later sold the Franklin Motel.
He served in the New Hampshire Senate for three terms, from 1962 to 1968, serving as finance chairman for two years. He also served on the board of directors of the Penacook Bank and the board of corporators of Franklin Savings Bank. He served on the board of directors of Franklin Regional Hospital for three years and was a former president of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a trustee at the Glencliff Home in Benton. He served on the board of directors of Gulf Super Markets in Tampa, Fla.
He was a member and former exalted ruler of the Franklin Lodge of Elks No. 1280, a member of the Rev. A.J. Timon Knights of Columbus Council No. 2170 and the Franklin Rotary. He was also a member of the former Fish and Game Club in Franklin.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Mary (Gauthier) Howard, in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Richard Howard of DeLand, Fla.; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held privately.
Burial will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

SALEM, Mass. - Roy E. Lonnberg, 81, a former Concord resident, died Sunday at the Salem (Mass.) Hospital.
He was born in Everett, Mass., the son of Knut and Rebecca (Magnusson) Lonnberg. He had lived in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for the past five years.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He worked as a sales manager in Browning Laboratories in Winchester, Mass., until moving to Concord in 1953. He then worked at the Richard D. Drew Co. and retired from Sylvania of Hillsboro in 1981.
He was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Concord, the William Parkman Lodge AF & AM of Winchester, the Concord Country Club and the Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Country Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Bartlett) Lonnberg.
Survivors include a son, Donald Lonnberg of Medford, Mass.; a daughter, Janice Broderick of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, Mass.

HOOKSETT - Irene A. Goodrich, 49, died Sunday at home after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Wells, Maine, the daughter of Ernest and Eleanor (Hodgkinson) Rhodes. She had lived in Hooksett for the past 26 years.
She was a school bus driver for the Bow School district for eight years. She also drove buses for the Hooksett School District for 10 years.
She was a member of the Hooksett Grange, the Pembroke Grange, the Suncook Valley Grange, the New Hampshire State Grange and the National Grange. She was a recipient of the Public Service Award from the Suncook Valley Pomona Grange.
She was a member of the Hooksett Congregational Church.
She was an avid traveler who enjoyed reading, quilting, crafts and photography.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Ronald Goodrich of Hooksett; a son, Ronoh Goodrich of Sanford, Maine; two daughters, Tanya Toledo of Hooksett and Crystal Standley of Manchester; three grandsons; a brother, Emerson Rhodes of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters, Cynthia Lakin and Lucy Wyman, both of Sanford, Maine, and Hazel Reeves of Derry; a half-brother; two half-sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial reception will be held Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Hooksett Congregational Church, 5 Veteran Drive, Hooksett.

HILLSBORO - Herbert G. Yeaton, 75, of West Main Street, died yesterday at home.
He was born in Hillsboro, the son of Herbert and Francina (Bagley) Yeaton. He was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro.
He attended local schools and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1942.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the 279th Engineer Combat Battalion. He also served with the National Guard in Hillsboro for eight years.
He worked as an automobile technician for many years and did automobile appraisals for 10 years. He also worked for Pherus Press for 13 years.
He was the fire chief of the Hillsboro Fire Department, along with serving as a fire warden and commissioner. He co-founded the Hillsboro Rescue Squad and was a hunter safety instructor for many years. He also served on the Hillsboro Planning Board.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Hillsboro.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was predeceased by a sister, Etta Griffin.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Stellato of Hillsboro and Valerie Grush of Gainesville, Fla.; three sons, Bruce Yeaton of Templeton, Mass., and Terry Yeaton and Kevin Yeaton, both of Hillsboro; two brothers, Wilbur Yeaton of Antrim and Berton Yeaton of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Elsie Sanborn of Hillsboro and Rowena Brown of Massachusetts; two grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home, 32 School St., Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Christopher Stage of the United Methodist Church of Hillsboro will be officiating.

Harry C. Cutting Sr., 83, of Runnells Road, died Monday at the Hospice House in Concord.
He was born in Concord, the son of William and Ethel (Webster) Cutting Sr.
He worked for 35 years as a purchasing agent and department manager at the Merrimack Farmers Exchange in Concord, until his retirement in 1980.
He served with the United States Army during World War II.
He attended the United Church of Penacook, was a former 4-H leader, and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Cecile (Fournier) Cutting of Concord; one son, Harry Cutting Jr. of Manchester; four daughters, Ethel Furlong of Penacook, Carol Barton of West Bolton, Vt., Eva Cutting of Pittsfield, Mass., and Susan Gay of Plymouth, Mass.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Cutting of Penacook; three sisters, Pauline White of Virginia, Berle Shepard of Concord and Judith Jameson of Canaan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

TILTON - Edward J. Pelczar, 78, of Winter Street, died Monday at the Veterans Home in Tilton after a long illness.
He was born in Chicopee, Mass., the son of Jacob and Caroline (Niemicz) Pelczar.
He was a mechanic for Webster Valve in Franklin.
He served with the United States Army during World War II.
He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Franklin.
He was predeceased by his wife, Naomi (Merklein) Pelczar.
Survivors include two daughters, Caroline Galica of Allenstown and Vanetha Foote of Agawam, Mass.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Lavallee of Chicopee, Mass.
A memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown, with a burial after at Holy Cross Cemetery in West Franklin.
