LACONIA - Mary E. Lamontagne, 55, of Overland Street died at her home yesterday. She was born in Middleborough, Mass., the daughter of Melvin and Grace (Coryer) Jefferson. She was a resident of Laconia since 1968, moving from Middleborough. She worked at Allen-Rogers, LTD for nine years. She also worked at Laconia Shoe Co. She was a member of the Laconia Rod & Gun Club. Survivors include her husband, Henry "Mike" Lamontagne of Laconia; her father, Melvin Jefferson of Palm Bay, Fla.; her mother, Grace McMahon of Belview, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Lamontagne of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Bridget Elliott of Laconia; six stepsons, Steve Lamontagne and Donnie Lamontagne, both of Gilford, Ronnie Lamontagne of Glendall, Wilfred Lamontagne, John Lamontagne and Henry Lamontagne Jr., all of Laconia; many step-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Jefferson of Florida, Donald Jefferson of Springfield, Ohio, and George Jefferson of Middleborough, Mass.; and 11 nephews and nieces. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. Use the Carriage House entrance. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A spring burial will be in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 N. Helen F. Learned, RUMNEY

RUMNEY - Helen F. Learned, 86, of School Street died yesterday at the Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth after a long illness She was born in Concord, the daughter of Henry and Bessie (Brewer) Fredette. She attended grammar school in Concord, Manchester Central High School and the New Hamphire Institute of Art in Manchester. A longtime resident of Concord, she moved to Rumney 10 years ago. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in Concord. She was a homemaker. She was a master artist for the New Hampshire Council of the Arts, and she specialized in creating early American decorative art pieces. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Richard Learned of Rumney; a daughter, Beverly Nemitz of Gilmanton; two sons, Richard Learned of Stuart, Fla., and David Learned of Ashland; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held tomorrow from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Learned will officiate. A spring burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Leonard D. Rowell, BRISTOL

BRISTOL - Leonard D. Rowell, 91, of State Street, died Friday at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I. He was born in Manchester, the son of Arthur and Alice (Spaulding) Rowell. He graduated from Manchester Central High School and the University of New Hampshire. He received his master's degree from Boston University. He was active in Masonic organizations while living in New Hampshire. He belonged to Ruth Chapter No. 16 The Order of the Eastern Star in Manchester and served as Worth Patron in 1950. He was a member of Nazarene White Shrine and served as Watchman of Shepherds in 1948. He was a member of Washington Lodge No. 161 F & AM. He was High Priest of Mt. Hoerb Chapter No. 11 and later served as Grand High Priest of the Royal Arch Masons in 1979-80. He was past Thrice Illustrious Master of Adoniram Council No. 3 for all of Manchester. He was recipient of th7e General Grand Chapter Medal from Royal Arch Masons in 1973. He was a member and past officer in the Order of Amaranth. He was a member of Bektash Temple. He was past president of the Kearsarge Shrine Club and a member of Trinity No. 1 in Manchester. He served as head usher at First Congregational Church while living in Manchester and was also a deacon. He moved to Warner in 1971 after retiring from the science department at Manchester Central High School. He was a member of The United Church of Warner where he served as deacon and on the board of trustees. He served his country during World War II and in the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Navy. He was predeceased by his first wife of 60 years, Emily (Savory) Rowell, who died in 1991. Survivors include his wife, Anna (Northrup) Rowell of Bristol; a daughter, Florence Merrill of Bedford; a sister, Eunice King of Manchester; a grandson, Bruce Merrill of Manchester; and three great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Monday at The United Church of Warner at noon. A service will follow at 1 p.m. with Washington Lodge No. 61 F & AM and Harris Lodge No. 91 F & AM conducting services and the Rev. David Travers, pastor, and the Rev. Christopher Emerson of The First Congregational Church in Manchester officiating. Burial will be held in Waterloo Cemetery in Warner in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals, c/0 Bektash Temple, P.O. Box 7252, Concord 03301-7252, or to Harris Lodge No. 91 F & AM, c/0 Mr. Douglas Brown, P.O. Joan T. Naro, NASHUA

NASHUA - Joan T. (Champagne) Naro, 68, of Navaho Street died Friday at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was born in Lincoln, the daughter of the late Edward and Alberta (Labrecque) Champagne. She was educated in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a resident of Nashua for most of her life. She graduated from Memorial School of Nursing in 1953 as a registered nurse. She worked over the years at Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital in 1994. She worked during her retirement at Networks as a per diem nurse. She continued to work until three weeks ago, when her health no longer allowed her to continue. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Nashua. She enjoyed many outdoor activities including gardening, cross country skiing and swimming. She also loved shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Howard Champagne of Nashua. Survivors include her husband, Robert Naro of Nashua; five sons, Jeffrey Naro Sr. of Nashua, Timothy Naro of Plymouth, James Naro of Nashua, Kevin Naro of Nashua, and Brian Naro of Concord; three daughters, Susan Naro of Nashua, Sharon Naro-Robillard of Goffstown, and Cynthia Naro of Manchester; three sisters, Jacqueline Greene of Oregon, Janet Boucher of Epsom, and Geraldine Schweigerdt of Nashua; two brothers, Edward Champagne of Oregon and Roger Champagne of Franklin; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held tomorrow at the St. Laurent Funeral Home, 116 Elm St., Nashua from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring St., Nashua, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Nashua. Ronald H. Girard, ALLENSTOWN

ALLENSTOWN - Ronald H. Girard, 50, formerly of Allenstown, died Friday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Columbia, S.C., after a period of declining health. He was born in Manchester, the son of Herman and Marie-Ange (Boudreau) Girard. He was educated at St. John the Baptist grammar school in Allenstown and was a graduate of Pembroke Academy. He lived in Allenstown for 18 years and worked in the construction business. He lived in South Carolina for the past 32 years and worked in the construction business as a supervisor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Priscilla Brown. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Jan (Gulledge) Girard of Blythewood, S.C.; a son, Jason Girard of Blythewood, S.C.; two daughters, Amy Girard of Columbia, S.C., and Melissa Girard of Blythewood, S.C.; six brothers, Paul Girard of Candia, Edward Girard of Pembroke, David Girard of Goffstown, Maurice Girard of Allenstown; Gilbert Girard of Manchester, and Roger Girard of Haines City, Fla.; four sisters, Lucille Roy of Allenstown, Patricia Moran of Pembroke, Lorraine Coulombe of Sun City, Ariz., and Dorothy Gancarz of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. Services and burial will be held in Greenwood, S.C. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford 03110. Elizabeth S. Keating, PITTSFIELD

PITTSFIELD - Elizabeth Simon Keating, 87, formerly of Park Street, died Saturday at the Hospice House in Concord. She was born in Exeter, the daughter of Dr. Lewis and Bessie (McNulty) Gilmore. She lived in Pittsfield for 43 years. She was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and Highland Park Junior College in Highland Park, Mich. She also attended the University of New Hampshire. She worked a dietician in the home health-care field and was also an antique book dealer. She attended Park Street Baptist Church and was a member of the Amoma Class and the Golden Rule Circle. She was predeceased by her brother, Lewis Gilmore Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Towle of Loudon; two sons, Peter Keating of Jaffrey and Brian Keating of Barnstead; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Park Street Baptist Church, Pittsfield. The Rev. Oden Woodward, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in the Floral Park Cemetery in Pittsfield. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice House, P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302-1797. The Perkins Funeral Home in Pittsfield is in charge of arrangements.

Frank E. Albright

Frank E. Albright, 86, of East Sugarball Road, Concord, died Saturday at home. He was born in Stratford, Conn., the son of John and Hattie (Myster) Albright. He worked for Remington Arms in Arkansas for 42 years, retiring as Chief Area Supervisor. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Connecticut. He enjoyed gardening. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Smethurst) Albright. Survivors include four sons, John Albright of Concord, Frank Albright of Farmington, Conn., Peter Albright of Mayflower, Ark., and Christopher Albright of Maumelle, Ark.; a sister, Evelyn of Bridgeport, Conn.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Loudon Road, Concord. Burial will be held in Griffen Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park, North Little Rock, Ark.

Elfreda D. Hunt, PENACOOK

PENACOOK - Elfreda D. Hunt, 77, of Abbott Road, died yesterday at Concord Hospital. She was born in Concord, the daughter of Earl and Dora (Chase) Colby. She graduated from the Concord school system. She had been a lifelong resident of Concord area. She was a homemaker. She is predeceased by her husband, Edgar Hunt, who died in 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Ferteena Cramer of Concord; and a grandson, Donald Cramer of Concord. Graveside services will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord. The Rev. Henry Frost will officiate. The Boutwell & Hussey-Wiren Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

Patrick J. Jackson, RYE

RYE - Patrick J. Jackson, 68, of Central Road, died Thursday at his home. He was born in Grand Rapids, Mich. He attended Kenyon College and received his master's degree in Education Administration from Antioch College. He founded Jackson, Jackson & Wagner in 1956; and the research subsidiary, Dudley Research, in 1982. He served as editor for PR Reporter for more than 30 years; was a member of PRSA's local Yankee Chapter; and was active with many boards and organizations in New Hampshire including the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, Giving New Hampshire Task Force, Statewide Program of Action to Conserve our Environment, The Environmental Coalition and the Rockingham County Cooperative Extension Services. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jennie. Survivors include his wife, Stacey Smith; two children, Alexandra and Jeremy; a brother, T. Michael Jackson of Traverse City, Mich.; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held tonight and all day tomorrow at the family home, 51 Central Road, Rye. Memorial services will be held April 22 at 11 a.m. at West Epping Friends. Burial will be held privately in Rye Cemetery. BOW - Cynthia V. Lesniak, 70, of Poor Richard Drive, died yesterday at Pleasant View Center Genesis Eldercare in Concord. She was born in Manchester, the daughter of Sperry and Cleo Phillips. She worked as a bookkeeper at Rosen's Clothing in Concord for 18 years and also as a bookkeeper for the State Unemployment Office, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and of the Suncook American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Mitchell Lesniak of Bow; a son, Mark Lesniak of Massachusetts; a daughter, Wendy Lesniak of Bow; and a cousin, Dennis Phillips of Winchester, Mass. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church Street chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home. The Rev. David Jones, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Daniel J. MacMichael, HOLMES, Pa.

HOLMES, Pa. - Daniel J. MacMichael, 82, died March 13 at Taylor Hospital near his home. He was born in Philadelphia and grew up outside the city. He attended the University of North Carolina. He served with the Navy as an officer in the Pacific during World War II and was part of the original crew of the aircraft carrier Bon Homme Richard, and later worked with radar in its infancy. He was on the cruiser USS Detroit when the Japanese surrendered aboard the battleship Missouri. He climbed an equipment mast on the Detroit and used an optical range-finder for a view good enough to see the pen in the hands of the Japanese officials. He moved to Holmes, Pa., after the war. He worked as a land developer retiring in the early 1970s. He was a lifelong hunter and outdoorsman. He is predeceased by his son, Chris MacMichael, who died in 1994. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Doris (Schulz) MacMichael of Holmes, Pa.; two daughters Barry MacMichael of Concord, and Lee Fiske of Hanover, Mass.; and a grandson, Cale MacMichael-Magruder of Concord. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the chapel at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, Pa. Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wills Eye Hospital, Development Office, 900 Walnut St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19107; or to the Ridley Township Public Library, 100 E. MacDade Blvd., Folsom, Pa. 19033.

Shari L. Hackett, HUDSON

HUDSON - Shari L. Hackett, 33, of Derry Street, died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. She was born in Laconia, the daughter of Floyd and Winnifred Hackett. She was a longtime resident of Laconia, living on Elm Street. She moved to Hudson last year to live with her sister. She was predeceased by her mother, who died in 1994; and her father, who died in 2000. Survivors include two sisters, Rhonda Lee Phelps of Hudson, and Laurie Burns of Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers, Wayne Hackett of Gilmanton and Brian Hackett of Saline, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Calling hours will not be held. Graveside services will be held later in the spring in the family lot, Smith Meetinghouse Cemetery, Gilmanton.
