Maurice "Moe" Lagasse, BELMONT

BELMONT - Maurice "Moe" Lagasse, 69, of Gardner Grove Road died at home Saturday. Lagasse was born in Nashua, the son of Donat and Rosanna (Cote) Lagasse. He served in the Army in the Korean War. He worked at Triangle Pacific for more than 30 years, retiring in 1983. He loved to bowl and take walks. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mary Jane Perusse of Milford and Aronalda Buckley of Hudson; four stepsons, Charles Rosmus of Deering, Ronald Rosmus of Nashua, Raymond Rozmus of California and Michael Rozmus of Minnesota; three brothers, Armond Lagasse and Henry Lagasse, both of Nashua, and Roger Lagasse of Florida; four sisters, Fern Cote of Nashua, and Blance Poulin, Irene Magouch and Marie Innis, all of Florida; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. His wife, Anita (Stiger) Lagasse died previously. Two brothers, Hervey Lagasse and Rennie Lagasse; and two sisters, Armance Larquie and Anna Gilmain, also died previously. There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home in Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas S. Burke, SPRINGFIELD

SPRINGFIELD - Thomas Stanton Burke, 46, of Route 114 died Friday at Tuckerman's Ravine on Mt. Washington. Born in Barre, Vt., he was the son of Stanton and Phyllis (Coxon) Burke. He attended Graniteville Elementary School, graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre in 1974 and studied architectural drafting at Vermont Technical College in Randolph. He married Polly Stedman in 1986 and settled in Springfield. As an architectural designer, he worked for Yankee Barn Homes in Grantham and later for several builders in central New Hampshire. Most recently, he worked as a design technician for commercial and residential projects for Sheerr McCrystal Palson of New London. In earlier years, he was a member of the Graniteville Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hiking, mountaineering, mountain biking and skiing and was active in many community projects. Survivors include his former wife and best friend, Polly, of Elkins; a son, Eli Burke of Elkins; his mother, Phyllis Burke of South Barre, Vt.; a sister, Susan Brewster and her husband, Lee, of Gilmanton; two nieces, Kristin Boucher of Williston, Vt., and Jennifer O'Connor of Granby, Colo.; a nephew, Eric Brewster of Henniker; a grandniece; and two grandnephews. His father, Stanton, and a brother, Steven John Burke, died previously. There will be no calling hours. A service of remembrance will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at the Graniteville Presbyterian Church in Graniteville, Vt. Following the service, family and friends will gather downstairs at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Thomas S. Burke Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 45, Elkins 03233, which will fund a skateboard park project in which he was involved.

Rachel A. Martel, LACONIA

LACONIA - Rachel A. Martel, 88, of County Drive died yesterday at the Belknap County Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born in Laconia, the daughter of Delphis and Anna (Lessard) Gilbert. After her parents' death, she was raised by Alfred and Annette Pomerleau and their daughter Judy Hawkins from the age of 12. She was a lifelong resident of Laconia. She worked at the Caron Box Co., Scott & Williams and Wilcom Electronic, where she worked in production before retiring in 1977. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart parish and was a member of the Canados and the Ladies of St. Anne since 1948. Survivors include a son, Normand Martel and his wife, Betty, of Gorham; a daughter-in-law, Terry Martel of Laconia; a sister, Germaine Green of Brookfield, Mass.; four grandchildren, Perry Martel of Rutland, Vt., Matthew Martel of Berlin, Kevin Martel of Italy and Scott Martel of Seattle; and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, Alfred Martel, died in 1986; a son, Ronald Martel, died in 2001; and a brother, Roland Gilbert, also died previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wedensday at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. The Rev. Adrian Longchamps will officiate. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Belknap County Home Residents Fund, 30 County Drive, Laconia 03246.

Robert C. Sargent

Robert Charles Sargent, 86, died Saturday at home. He was born in Pittsfield, the son of Lew and Elizabeth (Rowland) Sargent. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a conductor for the Boston and Maine Railroad for 45 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Concord, the American Legion and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of Concord; two sons, Douglas Sargent of Northwood and Thomas Sargent of Concord; two brothers, Richard Sargent of Saugus, Mass., and Russell Sargent of Franklin; two sisters, Doris Wright of Concord and Hilda Williams of Manchester; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Calling hours will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St., Concord. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Concord. Pastor Greg Comfort and the Rev. Walter Holder will officiate. Burial will be at the Blossom Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter St., Tilton 03276.

Michael Heymans, WEARE

WEARE - Michael Thomas Heymans, 46, died Friday at Concord Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Manchester, the son of Thomas and Irene (Dickey) Heymans. He graduated from Manchester West High School and served in the Navy. Heymans worked as a tree cutter for John C. Brown & Sons in Weare. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his nine-year-old twins. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by his mother; his wife, Cheryl (Bowman) Heymans of Weare; two sons, Cody and Tyler Heymans, both of Weare; a sister, Lyn Anderson of Hooskett; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord. Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Bernice Partridge

Bernice E. Partridge, 89, died Friday at the Harris Hill Nursing Home. She was born in Concord, the daughter of William F. and Emma H. (Spear) Walters. She married Ernest J. Partridge in 1931 in Concord and lived most of her life in the city. She and her husband were instrumental in building the Church of the Nazarene. She was a longtime, active member and Sunday school teacher at the church and spent many years volunteering for the church's nursing home ministry. Her husband died in 1987. She is survived by a son, Ernest J. Partridge of Edneyville, N.C.; a daughter, Janice R. (Bissonnette) Fell of Springfield, Mass.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 25 Rockingham St., Concord. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Affordable Funeral and Cremation Services Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Wallace H. Russell, EPSOM

EPSOM - Wallace H. Russell, 82, of Black Hall Road died Saturday at home. He was born in Hardwick, Vt., the son of Archie and Nina (Gusher) Russell. He lived in Pembroke for almost 40 years before moving to Epsom seven years ago. He was an Army veteran. He worked at the Brezner Tannery in Penacook for 29 years. He was a member of the VFW Moose Lodge in Concord. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was in several bowling leagues over the years. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Beulah (Hilliard) Russell of Epsom; three sons, Gene Hilliard of Epsom, Wallace Russell of Epsom and Randall Russell of Concord; three brothers, Alfonzo Russell and Franklin Russell, both of Vermont, and Archie Russell of Concord; two sisters, Lauriana Dore of Concord and Katie Plume of New York; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Two sons, Wendell Russell and Gary Russell, died previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Perkins Funeral Home & Monument Co., 60 Main St., Pittsfield. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. John Loker, pastor of the Chichester United Methodist Church, will officiate. NEW LONDON - William E. Hamilton Jr., 46, of Little Sunapee Road died Nov. 28 at home after a short illness. He was born in Boston, the son of William and Anna (Meade) Hamilton. He earned a degree in culinary arts from Northeast Vo-Tech High School in 1974. He was formerly of Raymond and Stoneham, Mass., before moving to New London two years ago. Hamilton worked as chef for Fitz & Voight Food Services Co. for many years. Survivors include two daughters, Shawn Dembro of Epping and Katy Hamilton of Auburn; and a sister, Henrietta of Oregon. Calling hours will not be held. Memorial services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Chadwick Funeral Services, 174 Main St., New London. The Rev. Renee Kaufman will officiate. Burial will be held privately at a later date. Jesse Lee Field, HILLSBORO

HILLSBORO - Jesse Lee Field, 14, died Tuesday at home. He was born in Keene, the son of Donald and Tammy Field. He attended Hillsboro-Deering Middle School in Hillsboro. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Tammy (Waters) and Joe Gionet of Hillsboro; grandparents, Robert and Diane Waters of Hillsboro and James and Trudy Taylor of Deering; a brother, C.J. Gee of Berlin; a sister, Angela Gee of Charlestown; and many nieces and nephews. His father died previously. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 32 School St., Hillsboro. The Rev. Christopher Stage, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date.

Walter A. Wudyka, BARNSTEAD

BARNSTEAD - Walter Adam Wudyka, 56, of White Oak Road died Thursday at Concord Hospital. He was born in Attleboro, Mass., the son of Adam and Sophie (Sczymkowicz) Wudyka. He was a longtime resident of Attleboro before moving to Barnstead in 1979. He was a former member of St. Theresa's Church in South Attleboro and attended St. Paul's Church in Barnstead with his family for many years. He was an Army veteran. He worked as a tool and die machinist. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed stock car drag racing. Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Devine and her husband, Jason, of New Boston and Jennifer Topouzoglou and her husband, Terry, of Charleston, S.C.; and three grandchildren. His wife, Linda (Kalolsky) Wudyka, died in 1990. There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa Church, Washington Street, Attleboro, Mass. An additional memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Mission Church, Route 28, Center Barnstead. A private burial will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Paul A. Gibbons, DERRY

DERRY - Paul A. Gibbons, 75, of Stevens Village Road died Friday at the Parkland Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Taunton, Mass., the son of Paul and Gladys (Sheppard) Gibbons. He lived in Derry for more than 40 years after moving from Boxford, Mass. He was a decorated Army veteran, having served with the infantry in World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. He worked in insurance for several companies in Manchester and the surrounding area. He served five terms in the state House of Representatives and two terms with the New Hampshire State Athletic Commission. He was a past chairman of the Democratic Committee in Derry. He was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and was active in the religious education program and numerous youth activities at the church. He was also active in many nonprofit community organizations in southern New Hampshire. Survivors include his wide, Patricia (Vogler) Gibbons of Derry; four sons, Donald Gibbons, Timothy Gibbons of Pompano Beach, Fla., Christopher Gibbons of Chester and Jeffrey Gibbons of Weare; three daughters, Joyce Gibbons of Louisville, Ky., Amy Morash of Derry and Cara Hard of Melrose, Mass.; a sister, Diana Smith of Portsmouth; an aunt, Hilda Godbout of North Reading, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Wednesday following the cremation, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial will follow at the West Hampstead Cemetery. Robert J. Dearborn, FRANKLIN

FRANKLIN - Robert "Bob" J. Dearborn, 75, died Tuesday at home after a long illness. He was born in Franklin, the son of Leon and Doris (Holt) Dearborn. He served in the Army during World War II, retiring as a staff sergeant. Dearborn worked as a paper machine operator for John's Mansville and Quin-T in Tilton. He later worked part time in the laundry department of Merrimack County Nursing Home. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Decato) Dearborn; a daughter, Brenda Cushman of Franklin; a brother, Frank Dearborn of Brattleboro, Vt.; two sisters, Lois Woods and Marjorie St. Jacques, both of Franklin; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services and burial will be held in the spring at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of the arrangements.
