HILLSBORO - Reginald A. Gerbert, 77, of Hillsboro died Friday at the Hospice House in Concord. He was the son of the late Albert and Evelyn (Spalding) Gerbert and a lifelong resident of Hillsboro. He was a self-employed lumberjack for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hillsboro and American Legion Post 59 in Hillsboro, having served in the Army during World War II. His son, Raymond E. Gerbert, died in 1978. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret C. (Hanson) Gerbert of Hillsboro; a son, Reginald A. Gerbert Jr. of Port St. Joe, Fla.; two brothers, Duane D. Gerbert of Deering and Everett A. Gerbert of Suncook; a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 32 School St., Hillsboro. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Christopher Stage, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Hillsboro, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maple Avenue Cemetery, Hillsboro. BOW - Peter Paul Giera, 47, died Thursday at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. He was born in Beverly, Mass., the son of Stephen and Joan Giera. He graduated in 1974 from Coe-Brown High School, where he played on the high school basketball team and was a member of the 1974 state champion team. He owned and operated Broad Cove Builders, based in Hopkinton, and later was a master carpenter for a local union in Portsmouth. Giera enjoyed ice hockey. Survivors include his mother, Joan (McGeoghan) Emerson of Hernando, Fla.; his wife of 23 years, Julie Giera of Bow; two sons, Ryan Giera and Kevin Giera, both of Bow; a daughter, Megan Giera of Bow; a brother, Theodore Giera of Hernando, Fla.; two sisters, Pamela Hall of Sandown and Patricia Giera of Hernando, Fla.; and five nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, 8 Pleasant St., Epping. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. LEBANON - Arthur William Parker, 88, of Lebanon, died Friday at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He was born in Lyman, the son of Earl C. and Mattie Jane (Byron) Parker. He attended Lebanon schools, where he skied and played football. He served in the Army during World War II. He lived in the Upper Valley, working as a printer at Dartmouth Printing. He also lived in Concord for many years, working as a printer for the state and the city. He retired in Lebanon. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fly fishing and skiing. His wife, Lillian (Slack) Parker, died in 1992. He is survived by two nephews, Earl Brady of Enfield and Rudolph Kimball of Ohio; a niece, Bettina Robie of Manchester; his companion, Bernice Slack of Lebanon; and many great-, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home, Lebanon. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Virginia Fryer will officiate. Clarence Charles "Whit" Whittier, 88, died Friday at Havenwood Heritage Heights. He was born in Concord, the son of Scott G. and Maron (Hurd) Whittier. Whit, as friends knew him, worked as a machinist for Fuller Brush of Manchester, Conn. He was a member of the East Congregational Church and a seventh-degree Granger. He enjoyed woodworking, cabinetry and carpentry and built the family home in Connecticut. He also enjoyed playing cards, square dancing and camping. He served as a corporal in the 1280th Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II. His brother, Carl Whittier, died previously. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth (Knapp) Whittier; a son, Charles A. Whittier of Newport, Penn.; a brother, Bernard Whittier of Concord; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial in the veterans cemetery in Boscawen. TILTON - Rita E. Tucker, 87, died Tuesday at Mountain Ridge Genesis Eldercare in Franklin. She was born in Laconia, the daughter of Peter and Stella (Clairmont) Vachon. She was raised in Belmont and for many years lived in Tilton, where she was formerly of Main Street. Tucker worked for JP Stevens Co. and the Tilton Leather Shop. She later worked as a waitress at the Tilton Inn. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Survivors include a son, Fred Tucker Jr. of Greer, S.C.; a sister, Pauline LaCroix of Alstead; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Fred Tucker Sr., died in 1993. Calling hours will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Burial will be held in the spring in St. John Cemetery in Tilton. Robert E. Tilton, 57, of Bow Street died Tuesday at Concord Hospital. He was born in Concord, the son of Robert and Anona (Mount) Tilton. He graduated from Concord High School in 1963. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Tilton worked as a firefighter and EMT for the Concord Fire Department from 1974 until 1992. He volunteered with the Concord Fire Department from 1970 to 1974 and was a member of American Legion Post No. 21 of Concord and the Color Guard. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include his wife, Jaceline (Couture) Tilton of Concord; and two daughters, Tammy Tilton of Pembroke and Michelle Tilton of Concord. A sister, Erdine Grondin, died previously. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. LACONIA - Norman F. Daigneault, 59, of Dudley Circle died Friday at the Lakes Region General Hospital. He was born in Laconia, the son of Francis and Evelyn (Russilillo) Daigneault. Daigneault lived most of his life in Laconia, before moving to St. Petersburg, Fla., after retirement. He moved back to Laconia in August. He graduated from Laconia High School in 1961. He worked at New England Telephone Company for 28 years, retiring in 1996. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He was a former vice president of the Laconia Little League and was involved with the Laconia Pop Warner program. He was a former member of the Pheasant Ridge Country Club. He was an avid skier and golfer. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth "Betty" (Thompson) Daigneault of Laconia; his mother, Evelyn Daigneault of Laconia; a daughter, Debbie Grant of Laconia; a son, Scott Daigneault of Gilford; four stepsons, Jerry Drouin, Steven Drouin, Pete Drouin and Jeffrey Drouin, all of Laconia; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His father, Francis Daigneault, died previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance of the funeral home. BERLIN - Irene R. "Blondie" Beaulac, 84, the relative of area residents, died yesterday after a long illness. She was born in Berlin, the third of nine children of Joseph and Laura (LeBreton) Ruel. She attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of Berlin, where she was a member of St. Kieran's Church, now the Good Shepherd Parish. She worked as a packer in the towel room division at Brown Company for 20 years. She was an avid gardener who loved the beach and baking for family and friends. Her husband, Elmer A. Beaulac, died in 1996. Six brothers and sisters, Phillip Ruel, Alice Othot, Francis Ruel, Robert Ruel, Joseph Ruel and Yvette Viger, also died previously. She is survived by a daughter, Elaine N. Roundy; a sister, Juliette Pare of Canaan; a brother, Emery Ruel of Keystone Heights, Fla.; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Church of the Good Shepherd Parish, with interment in the St. Kieran Cemetery. ROCHESTER - Marcia R. Bartlett, 86, formerly of 3D Wellsweep Acres, died yesterday at the Hospice House in Concord following a period of failing health. Born in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Mattie (Babb) Marble. Bartlett worked at the Humoresque Skating Rink in Rochester for several years. Her daughter, Phyllis Groves; five brothers, Raymond, Charles, Edward, Harold and Alywn Marble; and a sister, Norma Clark, died previously. She is survived by a son, John Bartlett of Penacook, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the R.M. Frances L. Pierce, 91, formerly of the Brattleboro area, died Friday at Presidential Oaks in Concord. She was born in New York City, the daughter of Franklin and Constance (Hewes) Pierce. She was an educator who loved teaching children. She was a woman of good humor and many interests, especially current events. She loved to have her nails manicured and she never missed an issue of Yankee Magazine. She is survived by her niece, Cindy Byington of Carson City, Nev., and many friends. Services will be private. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery in Brattleboro, Vt. FRANKLIN - Marjorie I. (Lewis) Lyons, 89, formerly of Lancaster Street in Franklin, died Saturday at the Mountain Ridge Genesis Elder Care in Franklin following a period of failing health. She was born in St. Albans, Vt., the daughter of Wesley and Cleo (Hayes) Lewis. She lived in the Tilton-Franklin area for many years. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Montpelier High School. Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Bacon of Northfield and Lorraine Grace of Rochester; a son, Frederick Lyons of Cocoa, Fla.; a brother, Kenneth Lewis of Concord; two sisters, Alice Start of Hadley, Mass., and Irene Start of Florence, Mass.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Robert Lyons, died in 1983; two brothers died previously, Wesley Lewis in 1963 and Charles Lewis in 1999; and a sister, Dorothy Buckman, died in 1996. There will be no calling hours. CONCORD - Everett Munson, 88, died Saturday at Concord Hospital. He was born in Concord, the son of George and Helen (Reed) Munson. He was a graduate of Concord High School, class of 1932, and the University of New Hampshire, class of 1936. Munson served as an Army captain during World War II. He was a registered architect who worked for many firms during his career, most recently the State of New Hampshire Public Works Department. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Vera Munson; two daughters, Gaily Ryder of Acton, Mass., and Deborah Skoglund of Ledward, Conn.; and three grandchildren. There will be no visiting hours.
