Ruth Erickson
DOVER - Ruth P. Erickson, 97, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at St. Ann Home in Dover where she had resided for the past four years.
She was born in Washburn, Wisc., on July 17, 1904, the daughter of Eugene and Cornelia (Massey) Newhouse. She was educated in the Washburn schools and entered nurses training in Ashland, Wisc. Before finishing her training, she was married to Oscar Erickson and moved to Bemidji, Minn., where she resided most of her adult life. While there, she was a communicant of Saint Phillip’s Church and a member of a church guild.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked for a short while at Bemidji State College.
In 1987, she moved to New Hampshire and lived in Durham for 11 years before St. Ann Home in 1998.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home and family were most dear to her. She loved needlework, especially embroidery and tatting.
She was predeceased by her husband in November 1974, three brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by daughters, Jacquelyn Hubbard of Lewiston, Idaho, and Beverly Tuberty of Lee; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. from the chapel at St. Ann Home, Dover, with the Rev. Thomas Coover as celebrant. Burial will be in Bemidji, Minn.

Kevin Foley
PORTSMOUTH - Kevin Patrick Foley, 50, of 579 Maplewood Ave., passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Born in Keene on April 7, 1952, he was a son of Frank J. and Pauline (Irwin) Foley and had been a resident of the Seacoast area for the past 30 years.
He was employed with the Hi Tech Hose Company in Georgetown, Mass., and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks in Keene.
Survivors include his wife, Karen (Holmes) Foley; three children, Michael Foley and Meghan Foley, both of Nashua, and Jared Foley of Portsmouth; three brothers, Frank Foley of Burlington, Vt., John Foley of Portsmouth and Thomas Foley of Ipswich, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Middle Street Baptist Church. Visiting hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St. Burial will take place later at the convenience of the family.

DOVER - Sally Ann Hill, 59, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

Service for Olida Miliner
ROCHESTER - Olida Doris (Soucy) Miliner, 79, of Tamarack Lane, died Monday, May 20, 2002, in the presence of loving family members.
The family of Olida Miliner wishes to invite all who knew her to a celebration of her life, to be held on Saturday, June 1. There will be a memorial Mass at Holy Rosary Church at noon, followed by a memorial reception at the function hall at Cocheco River Estates at 1:30 p.m. Anyone whose life she touched is welcome.
Harland Worster
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - Harland S. Worcester, 72, of West Golf Boulevard, died May 16, 2002, at Hospice & Homecare By The Sea, Boca Raton.
He was born in Rochester, N.H., on March 1, 1930, the son of Ernest and Eva (Reed) Worster. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1948. He had served in the United States Marine Corps. He had been a resident of Florida since 1995.
Mr. Worster had worked as a foreman for Midway Excavation and for Pike Industries, prior to his retirement.
At one time, he taught R.O.T.C. students at Sky Haven Airport, Rochester. He enjoyed piloting an aircraft and gardening. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 7 in Rochester and the "Quiet Birdmen Association".
He was predeceased by a brother, Stillman Worster.
Surviving family members include his wife, Florence (Pomerleau) Worster of Pompano Beach; his children, Don Worster of Milton Mills, N.H., Paula Winton of Palm Bay, June Morgan of Milton, N.H., and Jean Geautreau of Palm Bay; his stepchildren, Henry Lizotte Jr. of Rochester, N.H., and Susan Lizotte of Rochester; a sister, Virginia (Worster) Lachance and her husband, Jerome, of Rochester; a stepmother, Alice Worster of Somersworth; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no public visiting hours. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester. The Rev. Cynthia Nickerson, pastor of Bethany Methodist Church in East Rochester, officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Berwick, Maine. Memorial donations may be directed to either Hospice By The Sea, 1531 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, Fla., or to the Kidney Foundation, One Tremont St., Concord, NH. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Marion R. Bean
EXETER - Marion R. Bean, 58, of Exeter Farms Road, died July 31, 2002, at the Exeter Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born Dec. 8, 1943, in Boston, the daughter of the late Martin and Dorothy (Pimental) Reis. She grew up in Rockland, Mass., and had resided in Exeter since 1999.
She enjoyed creating arts and crafts and was a member of the art therapy group at the Exeter Hospital. She also loved to cook and was devoted to her family.
Mrs. Bean was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Exeter.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Stephen C. Bean of Exeter; two daughters, Mrs. George L. (Christina M.) Hurst of Gilford, and Mrs. Joseph M. Berwanger (Colette E. Bean) of Hampton; three grandchildren, Mackenzie K. Hurst and Brogan C. Hurst of Gilford, and Michael R.B. Berwanger of Hampton; three brothers, Robert Reis of Plymouth, Mass., Joseph Reis and Richard Reis, both of Rockland, Mass.; three sisters, Dorothy Reis of East Falmouth, Mass., Kathleen Laramee of Plymouth, Mass., and Sharon Adams of Abbington, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, from 6-9 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, located on the corner of Front St. and Lincoln St. in Exeter. Burial will follow in the Exeter Cemetery.

Hope Clapper
SOMERSWORTH - Hope Karen Clapper, 52, of One Market Street, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Dover the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Ross) Meehan. She has been a long time resident of Dover, South Berwick, Maine, and Somersworth area. She attended South Berwick schools and was a former resident of Central Towers in Dover.
Mrs. Clapper enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by one son, George Richard Cuvellier of Somersworth; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Kelly) Canney of Somersworth and Dawn Cuvellier both of Somersworth; two brothers, Leon Meehan of Florida and Bernard Meehan of Dover; three sisters, Mrs. Marsha Scott and Mrs. Leona Walker, both of Somersworth and Mrs. Kathy Strong of Rochester; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Bruce Meehan and a sister, Noreen Blouin.

Service for Constance Cook
ROCHESTER - Constance Cook, 56, of 77B Wakefield St., died Friday July 26, 2002, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital after a sudden illness.
A memorial calling hour will be held Friday 6 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, with a memorial service to be held at 7 p.m.
Burial will be in the Hurd Cemetery, Gonic.
Laurel Goodrich
BERWICK, Maine - Laurel A. Goodrich, 63, of Berwick, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with colon cancer Sunday, July 28, 2002.
Mr. Goodrich was born on April 1, 1939, in South Berwick. He was the son of Wilmer and Marion MacKenzie Goodrich. He was a graduate of Spaulding High School and worked for Northeast Container for more than 28 years.
Mr. Goodrich was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, spending time at home with his family, and he had a special love of antique cars. He also enjoyed riding his ATV and tinkering around with anything with an engine.
He was predeceased by a sister, Weltha and a brother, Ladd.
Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Virgie Hanson Goodrich of Berwick; their sons, Alvin and his wife, Lisa Goodrich, of Berwick, and Jason Goodrich of Somersworth; two daughters, Molly Richardson of Epping, N.H., and Sharon Goodrich, of Berwick; a brother, David and his wife, June Goodrich, of Berwick; an aunt, Ethel McMullen of Berwick; and eight grandchildren.
A 10:30 a.m. memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Lebanon North Berwick Baptist Church in Lebanon.

Robert J. Sprague
GILFORD - Robert James Sprague, 76, of 66 Terrace Hill Road, Gilford, and Falls Church, Va., died at his summer home on Tuesday, July 30, 2002.
Mr. Sprague was born on Oct. 28, 1925, in Groton, Conn., the son of Jonathan and Nell (Sheehan) Sprague. He and his wife spent 55 years summering in the Gilford area with their family. He was also a resident of Falls Church, Va., for more than 40 years.
Mr. Sprague served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, class of 1952. He worked for the Geological Survey, U.S. Department of the Interior for 10 years as a cartographer and also worked for the Navy Oceanographic Department for 25 years as an oceanographer, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Sprague was a sportsman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed running and ran in several marathons.
Survivors include his wife, Anne of Falls Church, Va.; three daughters, Laine E. Sprague of Fairfax, Calif., Kelly A. Sprague and son-in-law Martin Levin of Framingham, Mass., Amy K. Sprague and son-in-law Michael Inscoe of Springfield, Va.; one son, James M. Sprague of Falls Church, Va.; one sister, Madeline Fox of Gales Ferry, Conn.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jan L. Sprague.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington St., Lakeport. Burial will follow at Bayside Cemetery in Laconia.

Elizabeth D. Waldman
TUCSON, Ariz. - Elizabeth D. "Betty" Waldman of Tucson, Ariz., died suddenly July 23, 2002.
Born Feb. 8, 1913, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Mary Elizabeth (Wright) Rix.
She is survived by sons, William Connelly of Gilford, N.H., Arthur Connelly of Laconia, N.H., Sean Connelly of Tucson, Stephen Connelly of West Alton, N.H., Peter Connelly of Fort Worth, Texas, Thom Connelly of Chugiak, Alaska, Joseph Connelly of Anchorage, Alaska.; and by daughters, Mary Elizabeth Logal of Buffalo, N.Y., Kathleen Wright of Medina, N.Y., Karen Connelly of Tucson, Patricia Wagner of Anchorage, Alaska, and Kerry Whitney of Anchorage, Alaska; 45 grandchildren; and 73 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Terence Connelly of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Mary Jean Connelly of Buffalo, N.Y.; husbands, Arthur Connelly of Buffalo, N.Y., Robert Kumph of Laconia, N.H., and Mac Waldman of Tucson.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church at 401 Woodward Ave., Buffalo, N.Y. Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 11 a.m.
Clifford Warg
KITTERY POINT, Maine - Clifford Warg, 83, of Kittery Point, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at his home.
Born on July 10, 1919, in Detroit, Mich., he was a son of Rudolph and Clara (May) Warg. He attended local schools graduating from River Rouge High School, Class of 1937. He graduated from the University of Michigan and did post graduate work at MIT.
Mr. Warg served his Country during World War II as a flight instructor in the United States Army Air Force stationed in Texas. His love of flying continued through out his life, in his younger years he enjoyed piloting his Steerman bi-wing airplane throughout the country.
He was married in 1946 to his loving wife of more than 56 years, Marguerite (Kaiser) Warg. They traveled to a number of cities throughout the United States for his career. They settled in and made their home in Kittery Point in 1987.
He was employed by the United States Government working as an aeronautical engineer, he was instrumental in the development of the X15 Rocket Engine, a model which he made is still on display in the Dayton Aeronautical Museum. He also supervised the team, which developed the second stage rocket engine that took the Saturn 5 rocket into space. He was also present and observed the lift off and eventual moon landing and walk of the Apollo Rocket and crew.
He was a member of the New Apostolic Church. Mr. Warg also enjoyed making puzzles and models.
Beside his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Pauline Warg and her husband, Gary Snider, of Waterboro, Maine and Laurel Warg Jamieson and her husband, William Jamieson, of Manchester, N.H.; two grandchildren, Bethany McEllin and Alec Jamieson; and two great-grandchildren, Cala McEllin and Joaquin Jamieson.

Koharig Christie
DOVER - Koharig "Kay" Christie, 79, of 167 Henry Law Ave., died at home Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002.
She was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Dover, the daughter of John and Rosie (Hosepian) Banaian. She was a lifelong resident of Dover, attended Dover schools and graduated from Dover High School, Class of 1941.
She was a longtime standing member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and was employed for 38 years at the General Electric Company of Somersworth, retiring in 1986.
She was active for many years as a volunteer with community mental health groups and was also well-known as a poll worker in her ward.
She is survived by a son, John Christie and his wife, Janet of Winthop, Maine; a brother, George Banaian of York Beach, Maine; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Mary) McKenney of Dover and Lillian Goodman of Northridge, Calif.; and one grandson, Nicholas Christie, a senior at Bates College, Lewiston, Maine.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; a son, Gary Stephen Christie; two brothers, Stephen "Licky" Banaian and Elias Banaian.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover.

Marion Korn
FALMOUTH, Maine - Marion Korn, 96, formerly of Dover, N.H., died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Maine Medical Center Portland.
Born Feb. 4, 1906, in Holtville, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Esther (Pollack) and Ambrose Holt. She came to Dover in 1924 and graduated in 1927 as a registered nurse from Wentworth Nurse’s Training School.
Mrs. Korn worked at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. She also worked at private duty assignments throughout Rochester, N.H., Barrington, N.H., Somersworth, N.H., Durham, N.H., and Dover, N.H. For 19 years, she was a private duty nurse to Mr. and Mrs. Douglass, benefactors of the local hospital.
She married Walter Korn in 1959 and was a resident of Littleworth Road from 1959 until 1999, when she moved to the Falmouth House.
She was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church in Dover. Mrs. Korn was an avid seamstress, gardener, cook and reader.
The family includes six nieces and nephews, Esther Anne Charland of Surrey, B.C., Leighton Holt of Barrington, Mary Abbott of Falmouth, Marcia Baldwin of Saunderstown, R.I., Gerald Holt of Sebago, Richard Holt of South Portland; and several grand-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Pine Hill Cemetery, 131 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. Arrangements made by the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage, South Portland.
