Phyllis Rouleau
ANSONIA, Conn. - Phyllis C. Rouleau, 74, died Dec. 30, 2001, at the home of her sister-in-law, Elaine Rogers in Galveston, Ind.
Born May 14, 1927, in Fairfield, Vt., she was the last living child of five. She worked hard all her life and just recently retired from Hershey Metal Products. She also was a great cook and won an award for her pasta salad.
An avid gardener, her roses were a thing of beauty but nothing compared to the relish she made from her vegetable garden which will be also missed by her family members, whom she was very generous to.
Mrs. Rouleau leaves her loving and devoted husband, Edmond of Ansonia and formerly of West Lebanon, Maine; a daughter, Suzanne Tisco of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; a son, Edmond Rouleau Jr. of Fort Riley, Kan.; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Rouleau; two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Rouleau will be greatly missed by all who loved her so very much.
Vida Toth
PORTSMOUTH - Vida Alice (Goodreau) Toth, 93, of 188 Jones Ave, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at the SunBridge of Portsmouth.
She was born in Swanton, Vt., on Oct. 10, 1908, the daughter of Alfred and Alfonsene (Therrien) Goodreau.
She was the wife of the late Andrew Toth Jr. who died on April 29, 1970.
Survivors include her son, Leo Gaudreau and his wife, Theresa (Cote); granddaughters, Céline and her husband, Bernard St-Onge, Lise and her husband, Denis Greendale, and Diane and her husband, Paul Cole; great-grandchildren, François, Valérie, Annie, and Claudine; her sister, Rita Gaudreau; nieces, Shyrley Gaudreau and her husband, George Crandall, and Phillys Wallgate and her husband, Jacques Gadoury; a grand-nephew, George Junior Crandall and his wife and two daughters.
A memorial service will be held at J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad Street, Portsmouth, on Friday at 11 a.m. Friends invited. There will be no visiting hours.
Stephania Beierle
NOTTINGHAM - Stephania "Stella" Francesca Beierle, 82, formerly of 35 Garland Road and more recently of Sunbridge Nursing Home, Rochester, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Sunbridge Nursing Home after a period of failing health.

Alice Brisard
SOMERSWORTH - Alice M. Brisard, 85, formerly of 10 Green St. died Wednesday, Jan 17, 2002, at the Dover Rehab & Living Center after a period of failing health.
She was born in Durham on Jan. 25, 1916, the daughter of A. I. and Edith (Stevens) Tuttle. She was educated in Durham and South Berwick, Maine, schools graduating from Berwick Academy in 1934.
Mrs. Brisard had resided in South Berwick before moving to Somersworth in 1949. She had been employed for many years at Robert’s Shoe Co. until she retired in 1981.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and yard sales.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Brisard of Rochester, Ronald Brisard of Florida, and Robert Brisard of Middleton; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. There are no services.
Evelyn Emmons
WAKEFIELD - Evelyn Almira Marston Emmons, 62, of Whippoorwill Road, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
She was born Aug. 3, 1939, in Portland, Maine, and lived in West Parsonsfield, Maine, where she attended local schools, later moving to East Wakefield, before moving to Somersworth and returning to Wakefield two years ago.
She owned and operated the Rapid Cleaning Service for several years.
She is survived by four sisters, Clara Rand of Crystal, Maine, Mabel Wadsworth of Emery Mills, Maine, Grace Weeks of Gorham, Maine, and Florence Leighton of Sanford, Maine; a niece, Elaine Weeks Trueblood of Hockessin, Del.; a nephew, Colin Weeks of Moultonboro; two grandnephews; a grandniece; a cousin, William Wilson; and her companion of 10 years, Russell Lampman of Wakefield.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lord Funeral Home, Route 28, Wolfeboro.

Phyllis Fullam
PORTSMOUTH - Phyllis Marie Fullam, 81, formerly of Thornton Street Extension, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at the Mark H. Wentworth Home.
Born in Portsmouth on Jan 25, 1921, she was the daughter of Joseph and Carmella (Memmolo) Vozella and was a lifelong resident.
In her younger years, she was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the Sise Insurance Agency, as a typist at the Portsmouth Herald, and was one of the first Title One tutors in the State of New Hampshire.
She was a founding member of St. Catherine of Siena Church where, along with her husband, William, she devoted many years of service to Catholic Charities, the Fall Festival, the Women’s Club and as a Eucharistic minister.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Active Retired Association, served as secretary of the New Franklin School PTA and was a girl scout leader.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Pelletier of Exeter, Felice Smith Fullam of Portsmouth, Karen Inglis and her husband, Neil, of San Jose, Calif., and Mary E. Feyt and her husband, Christopher, of Milton, Mass.; three grandchildren, Grant T. Inglis, Connor W. Inglis and Angeline Feyt; a sister, Betty Cady; a brother, Joseph Vozella Jr., both of Rye; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Fullam, who died in 1992; a brother, John J. Vozella; and a son-in-law, Harvey A. Smith III.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St. Family flowers only please.

Warren Hayes
NEW DURHAM - Warren A. Hayes, 79, of Old Bay Road, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born Nov. 22, 1922, in New Durham, he was the son of Everett W. and Rosaria (Grenier) Hayes. He resided in New Durham for most of his life.
A construction worker, he was self-employed as Warren Hayes Construction.
He was a volunteer with the New Durham Fire Department for many years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing poker and cribbage.
He is survived by one son, Arnold W. and his wife, Shirley M. Hayes, of Center Barnstead; four daughters, Gloria and her husband, Skip Carpenter, of New Durham, Vicki Hayes of San Diego, Calif., Rachel and her husband, Alan Fall, of Freedom and Constance M. Allard; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Parker of Holiday, Fla.; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia L. (Wyatt) Hayes, who died in 1973; a sister, Dorothy Gray; and two brothers, John Hayes and Leon Hayes.
Calling hours are today from 7 to 9 p.m. at C.E. Peaslee and Son Funeral Home, 32 Central St., Farmington.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the spring at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.

Minnie Horr
SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Minnie B. Horr, 79, of Old Mill Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H.
Born in Dover, on Oct. 29, 1922, she was the daughter of John E. and Gertrude C. (Lord) Blaisdell. Following graduation from Berwick Academy in 1941, she married Cecil R. Horr on Christmas Eve of 1941.
Mr. and Mrs. Horr owned and operated the Chronicle Print Shop in South Berwick.
She had joined Dover Baptist Church in 1938 then transferred to the First Baptist Church in South Berwick in 1940.
She was an honorary deaconess, having served over 15 years as a deaconess, and flower committee member. She was a former church clerk, Sunday school teacher, youth advisor and choir member.
She was a member of the Old Berwick Historical Society in South Berwick and had served a three-year term as a director of the School Administration 35.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Cecil R. Horr of South Berwick; her son, Leslie Evans and his wife, Sheila, of South Portland; daughters, Sharon Stuart and her husband, John, of South Berwick, and Noreen Byrne and her husband, Charles J. "Chuck", of Teaticket, Mass.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers, George E . Blaisdell and John Richard Blaisdell.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St., South Berwick.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, South Berwick, with Pastor Timothy Wagner, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick.
Gordon Perkins
SOUTH LEBANON, Maine - Gordon E. Perkins, 58, of 70 River Road, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a period of failing health.
He was born May 27, 1943, the son of Elmer and Olive (Smith) Perkins and was a lifetime resident of South Lebanon.
He is survived by a son, Michael Perkins of South Lebanon; two daughters, Stacy Sexton of Rochester, N.H., and Joscelyne Perkins of Weslaco, Texas; a brother, Richard Perkins and his wife, Alice of South Lebanon; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the True Memorial Baptist Church, 21 Ten Rod Road, Rochester, with the Rev. Fred Leslie, pastor, officiating.

Beverly Fillion
SOMERSWORTH - Beverly Anne Fillion, 65, of 1 Albert St., died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at her residence after a long period of failing health.
She was the widow of the late Robert Fillion and she was the former owner and operator of B&B Printing.

Theresa Deem
NEWMARKET - Theresa M. Deem, 73, of Pine Street, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at her home in Newmarket.
Born Feb. 14, 1928, in Newmarket, she was the daughter of Napoleon P. and Anna (LaBranche) Bernard.
She was a graduate of Newmarket High School.
Mrs. Deem was a beautician and did her hairdressing in several locations as well as at home.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Newmarket.
Her husband, John J. Deem, died in 1978, and a son, Thomas P. Deem, died in 1973.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen P. Deem of North Windham, Maine, and Joseph F. Deem and Kenneth R. Deem, both of Newmarket; a daughter, Mary (Deem) Loebe of Newmarket; seven grandchildren; a brother, Raymond J. Bernard of Newmarket; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter St., Newmarket, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the Funeral Mass.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from St. Mary’s Church, Newmarket.
Burial will be in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket.
Margaret Vachon
MEREDITH - Margaret C. Vachon, 73, of Plymouth Street, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Lakes Region General Hospital in Plymouth.
Born in Meredith on Feb. 12, 1928, she was the daughter of Jacque and Iola (Merril) Souard.
She grew up in Meredith and resided here all her life. She attended Meredith schools. She worked for 25 years as a spinner at the former Amatex Corp. in Meredith.
She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church, Meredith, and also had been a Sunday school teacher there for more than 35 years.
Survivors include seven children, Jane Eacobacci of Milford, Jackie Hurd of Meredith, Paul Davis of Winchester, Mark Davis of Winnisquam, Robin "Dusty" Davis of Meredith, Sam Vachon of Concord and Valerie Wilkinson of Concord; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Vachon of Meredith and Beatrice Water of Ashland, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, routes 3 and 104, Meredith, on Sunday 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Calvary Bible Church, Meredith, on Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mamie Sirles
MEREDITH CENTER - Mamie A. Sirles, 89, of Meredith Center Road, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at the Saint Francis Home in Laconia.
She was born in Ashland on Feb. 29, 1912, the daughter of Chester and Leona (Johnson) Jenness.
She grew up in the Ashland and Meredith area and has been a resident of Meredith Center most of her life.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Laconia State School for many years until her retirement in 1977.
She was the wife of Freeman Sirles, who died in 1970, and she was predeceased by a son, Raymond Sirles, a brother, Cecil Smith, and a sister Lorraine Bourque.
Survivors include two sons, Chester F. Sirles of Rochester and Robert P. Sirles of Meredith Center; three daughters, Geraldine Blake of Waco, Texas, Warneta Russel of Meredith and Linda Boivin of Laconia; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Bundy of Tilton; a sister, Rita Yancis of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.

Kenneth Platts
BRISTOL - Kenneth S. Platts, 88, of North Main Street, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Franklin Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Manchester, the son of Fredrick Platts and Winnifred (Sulloway) Platts Gray. He grew up in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School. He later attended The New Hampton School and the University of New Hampshire. He was the husband of the late Grace (Holton) Platts.
Mr. Platts was employed as a manager with New York Life Insurance Co., and had lived in many areas throughout New England and New York. Upon his retirement in 1973, he returned to Bristol.
Mr. Platts was a 65-year member of Union Lodge No. 79 F&AM of Bristol.
He is survived by one son, Bruce Platts of Hill; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Platts of Crowley, Texas; a great grandson, Kenneth Platts of Crowley, Texas; a brother, Wesley Platts of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews.
