Lucy Brooks
DOVER - Lucy (Michaud) Brooks, 78, of Dover, died at her home Thursday, March 14, 2002. She was the wife of the late George Brooks.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Salem, Mass., the daughter of Ernest and Yvonne (Beaupre) Michaud. She has been a resident of Salem most of her life prior to moving to Dover eight years ago. She had been employed for over 20 years at E. G. & G. She was an active member at the Senior Center in Dover and the AARP.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Don LeBlanc of Dover, and Sandra and Sean Begin of Rochester, N.Y.; one son and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Donna Brooks of Epping; 11 grandchildren, Jim, Greg, Mike, Kim and Elizabeth LeBlanc, Tom Martin, Sharon Murray, Gary Brunette, Terri Lee Glidden, Edward and Richard Brooks; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne Puleo of New Jersey and Rachel Pelletier of Salem; three brothers, Arthur and Roger Michaud, both of Salem, Mass., and Roland Michaud of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday, at 10 a.m. at the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., Salem, Mass., (Routes 1A/114) followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Salem, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
Visiting hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 646 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. 03820. The burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
Beverley Fredrickson
SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Beverley C. Fredrickson, 79, formerly of Springtree Lane, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover.
Born in Methuen, Mass., April 2, 1922, she was the daughter of Odilion and Lucia S. (Nolet) Landry.
She was a 50 year resident of Derry until seven years ago when she moved to South Berwick. Mrs. Fredrickson was retired from Disogrin Industries of Manchester.
She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the South Berwick Senior Center. It was her joy to attend the sporting events of her grandchildren at Marshwood Junior and Senior High Schools.
Family members include a daughter, Sherry Allan Bucar and her husband, Ivan, of South Berwick; one brother, Kenneth Landry and his wife, Celine, of Bedford, N.H.; one sister-in-law, Rita Rogers of Salem, N.H.; four grandchildren, Casey Allan and Jason Allan, both of South Berwick, Scott Allan of Berwick and Chris Allan of Strafford, N.H.; four great-grandchildren, Miranda Alan, Charlie Allan, Ian Allan and Ben Allan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter H. Fredrickson, who died on Dec. 29, 1999; and by a son, Wayne W. Fredrickson, who died in 1963.
Calling hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church with the Rev. H.J. Cameron, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mary McDonnell
GROVELAND, Mass. - Mary Lucy McDonnell, 90, always known as "Lucy," longtime resident of Groveland, died Wednesday evening, March 13, 2002, at Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill. She was the wife of John M. McDonnell.
She was born in Boston on May 6, 1911, the only daughter of Timothy J. and Lena A. (Keefe) Flynn and graduated from Cheverus High School in 1928. She was a bookkeeper in the accounting department of Western Electric and also worked for Merrimac Valley Credit Union.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, South Groveland.
She loved literature and enjoyed the crossword puzzles in the Boston Globe and New York Times.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, she is survived by three loving children, Jane V. Coder and her husband, Richard, of Newburyport, William and his wife, Gail, of North Hampton, N.H., and John and his wife, Bobby, of Chamblee, Ga.; and four beloved grandchildren, Elissa and Lucia Von Letkemann and Sean and Marc McDonnell.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Funeral Home, 35 Green St., Newburyport. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 990 LaGrange St., West Roxbury. Calling hours from the funeral home will be Monday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Tetiana Chick
FARMINGTON - Tetiana Reane Chick, infant, died Wednesday, March 18, 2002, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon.
Born March 13, 2002, in Dover, she was the daughter of Kimberly Anne Chick.
Members of her family include her maternal grandparents, Earl Chick of Farmington, Diane and John Frost of Farmington; her maternal great-grandparents; Donald and Mary Denton of Rochester, Earl and Norma Chick of Rochester, Shirley Chick of Rochester, Charles and Dottie Peabody of Somersworth; a twin brother, Nathan Alexander Chick of Farmington; an uncle, Gregory Chick of Farmington; great-aunt and uncles; and many cousins.

Alice Coughlin
PORTSMOUTH - Alice S. Coughlin, 98, formerly of 390 State St., passed away Saturday, March 16, 2002, at the Mark Wentworth Home.
Born in Portsmouth on March 5, 1904, she was the daughter of Patrick and Mary (Hopkins) Coughlin.
She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and Plymouth Business School.
She was employed for some time at Hislop’s Garage and then went to work at the Portsmouth Herald in the accounting department, retiring after 42 years.
She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. She had a great fondness for animals.
Survivors include her nieces, Kathleen Kennedy, Jeanne Haley, Louise Caverly, Ann Rutledge and Mary Ann Lambros; a nephew, Timothy Francois; great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Patrick, James and John Coughlin; five sisters, Ellen Hogan, Mary Rutledge, Dorothy Jacobs, Catherine Kennedy and Florence Coughlin.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Friends invited. No visiting hours.

KITTERY, Maine - Lawrence F. "Larry" Dacey, 62, of Kittery, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth.
Friends invited. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to service.
Myra Eldridge
SOMERSWORTH - Myra Eldridge, 87, formerly of 30 Indigo Hill Road, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Dover Rehabilitation Center after a period of failing health.
She was born in Biddeford, Maine, on Oct. 10, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Cunniff) Martel.
She worked with the Somersworth Shoe Company until her retirement in 1975.
She was a longtime resident of Rollinsford living there until 1981. She moved to North Carolina and lived there for 10 years. She moved back to the area in 1991 and has lived here ever since.
She enjoyed painting pottery and other painting crafts at the Dover Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, William and Kathy Eldridge of North Carolina and Lester and Linda Eldridge of Somersworth; two daughters, Carol Seymour of Somersworth and Barbara LaBranche and her husband, Richard of Rollinsford; a daughter-in-law, Alice Eldridge of Somersworth; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lester C. Eldridge Sr., who died in 1974; a son, Douglas Eldridge; two daughters, Patricia Combs and Edith Eldridge; and one brother, William Martel.

Pearl Ferrelli
GREENLAND - Pearl (Keene) Mills Ferrelli, 92, widow of Joseph M. Ferrelli, of 188 Portsmouth Ave., died Monday, March 18, 2002, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Born in Kittery, Maine, on Nov. 18, 1909, she was the daughter of Arthur W. and Dora E. (Granfield) Keene. She attended Portsmouth High School.
She was employed as a paymaster at the former Morley Button Co. in Portsmouth retiring in 1975 after 33 years.
She enjoyed her many friendships from the "Pic-N-Pay Coffee Club," loved to go down to the beach and look out over the ocean and she truly appreciated her daughters and their families.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Beatty and her husband, Charley of Greenland and Joan Murphy of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Pamela Murphy of Concord, Tom Mills of Newington, Clara Ricker of Hooksett and John Mills of Connecticut; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Herbert C. Mills, on Sept. 30, 1981.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth.

Antoine Gingras
DOVER - Antoine L. Gingras, 93, formerly of 12 Chapel St., died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Riverside Rest Home after a short illness.
He was born on May 26, 1908, in Levis, P.Q. Canada and was the son of Legr and Bernadette (Genest) Gingras.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed with Davidson Rubber Company. He had lived in South Daytona, Fla., for many years prior to moving back to this area.
His wife, Anna Bernier, died in 1954.
Family members include a sister, Ida Garneau of Levis, P.Q. Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The Bernier Funeral Home, 39 South St., Somersworth, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Ron Goddard
SOMERSWORTH - Ronald J. Goddard, 67 of 142 Indigo Hill Road, died suddenly on Monday, March 18, 2002, at the Wentworth-Douglas Hospital in Dover.
He was born in Rochester on July 10, 1934, the son of William and Cora (Gagnon) Goddard. He was educated at Holy Trinity School in Somersworth, Class of 1948, and Somersworth High School, Class of 1952.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had been employed as a truck driver for St. Johnsbury’s Trucking for 26 years. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and spending time with his family. He had been active with the Boy Scout Troop 197, a member of the Somersworth Eagles, the Teamsters Union 1063, Tops Chapter 21 and was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances (Thompson), of 47 years; four daughters, Carol Ann Jaburek and husband, Mark of Antioch, Ill., Cynthia Allard and husband, John, Colleen Desmarais, and Candace Merrill and husband, Richard, all of Somersworth; five grandchildren, Nathaniel and Joshua Martel, Jerrame Goddard, Shannah and Chase Jaburek; one great-granddaughter, Korah Maye Canney-Goddard; two sisters, Elaine Puchlopeck and husband, Ted of Newmarket, and Margaret Dollen of Seabrook; close nephew, Roland Cyr and wife, Janet, and their children, Bethany and Patrick of Berwick, Maine; and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Roberge Funeral Home, 298 High St., Somersworth. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, High St., Somersworth, with burial in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Marie Marple
CONCORD - Agnes Marie (Jurentkuff) Marple, 94, of Pleasant Street, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at The Presidential Oaks (N.H. Odd Fellows Home).
She was born in Clinton, Mass., on March 5, 1908, the daughter of Karl F. and Isabel (Wahl) Jurentkuff. She graduated from Clinton High School, Clinton, and Burdett College, Boston, Mass.
She lived at "White Birches" Bow Lake, Strafford, from 1939. Mrs. Marple was a 4-H leader and was involved in many community projects such as the Grange, Home Extension and various other endeavors. In conjunction with her craft shop, which she had owned for many years, she had a booth at the Rochester, Deerfield and Hopkinton Fairs for many years as well as Plymouth and Sandwich Fairs. Mrs. Marple also owned and rented cottages on Bow Lake. In the early 1970s, she retired to Florida. She returned to New Hampshire in June 1998 and became a resident of the Odd Fellows Home.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur E. Marple; a brother, Karl Jurentkuff; and two sisters, Isabelle Chase and Pauline Crockett. She is survived by a daughter, Priscilla Moore of New London; a son, Arthur R. Marple of Hooksett; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pauline Ramsdell
YORK, Maine - Pauline Ruth Ramsdell, 63, of Nonantum Trail, died Monday, March 18, 2002, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born April 25, 1938, in Rochester, N.H., the daughter of Frank E. and Rose (Patenaude) Glidden.
She worked side by side with her husband, Earl, establishing the Earl Ramsdell Stone and Gravel Company in York. She was a hard worker and often times was seen in one truck with her young sons while Earl was loading gravel into another truck.
She enjoyed knitting and doing crafts. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Kittery Rotary Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl E. Ramsdell, who died June 14, 1995, and by her parents.
Survivors include two sons, David E. Ramsdell of Cape Neddick and Ronald and his wife, Linda Ramsdell of Cape Neddick; two brothers, Roland Glidden of El Paso, Texas, and George Glidden of Farmington, N.H.; two sisters, Joyce King of Rochester, N.H., and Jean Gains of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Linda Stabrow of Cape Neddick; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her mixed-breed collie and black Labrador dog, Jimmy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Lucas and Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York. Interment will be in First Parish Cemetery, York.

A. Parker Twombly
GREENLAND - A. Parker Twombly, 98, of 3 Portsmouth Ave., died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Sunbridge of Portsmouth.
Born in Portsmouth, he was the son of Herman C. and Nellie (Lang) Twombly.
Mr. Twombly attended Portsmouth schools and had attended the University of New Hampshire.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a leadingman machinist at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
He was a member of St. Andrew’s Lodge No. 56 F&AM of Portsmouth, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Portsmouth and Dover, N.H. Conisistory 32nd Degree of Nashua and the Bektash Shrine of Concord.
Mr. Twombly was predeceased by his wife, Edith J. (Lilley) Twombly, in 1979 and brother, Alfred Twombly.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Twombly of Chevy Chase, Md.; a son, A. Parker Twombly Jr. of Dorchester, Mass.; and a brother, Robert Twombly of Silver Spring, Md.
