Gerine Printy
ROCHESTER - Gerine M. Printy, 90, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at the Rochester Manor after a long period of failing health.
Born Jan. 12, 1910, in Rochester, she was the daughter of David and Emma (Beaudoin) Morin. On Aug. 20, 1936, she married Thomas L. Printy of Dover, who died in 1992. Mrs. Printy was a lifelong resident of Rochester and Dover, and a communicant of Holy Rosary Church.
She worked in the shoe industry for many years in Rochester and Dover and retired from Roberts Shoe Company of Dover.
Mrs. Printy was predeceased by three sisters and a brother, Louise Roy of Sanford, Maine, Annette Reed of Rochester, Lucille Utz of Fulda, Minn., and Robert Morin of Rochester.
Surviving members of the family include three sisters, Pauline Lessard and Palma Suska of Dover and Henrietta Newbury of Rochester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dover.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., prior to the funeral, at the H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester.

Dorothy Shepard
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Dorothy Evelyn Shepard, 89, formerly of Raymond, N.H., died at Bay Front Hospital, St. Petersburg on April 12, 2000 after a brief illness.
Formerly a member of the Raymond Rebekahs and the Raymond Congregational Church, she was also a volunteer for Humana Services and was Volunteer of the Year for the St. Petersburg Goodwill Industries.
While residing in Raymond she was the dental assistant for Dr. Martin Dionne for many years. Following retirement she and her husband Karl move to St. Petersburg.
She was greatly loved and admired by all who knew her.
She has left behind a daughter, Susan Shepard of Eliot, Maine; two sons, Gary Bernier of St. Petersburg and Karl (Buzz) Shepard of Londonderry, N.H.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Raymond Congregational Church, Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m.
Charles Thurston
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Charles E. Thurston, 91, formerly of Littleworth Road in Dover, N.H. and Malone Drive in Orlando, Fla., died April 27, 2000 in San Antonio, Texas.
Born on Oct. 9, 1908, in Gorham, N.H., he had been a farmer and government worker at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Mr. Thurston loved to ballroom dance with his wife, Vera, and enjoyed playing cards.
He was predeceased in death by his beloved, Vera.
He is survived by his children, Raymond Thurston and his wife, Barbara, of Venice, Fla. and Mayville, N.Y., Priscilla Labbe and her husband, Leo of Basking Ridge, N.J., and Gloria Spruce and husband, Ronald, of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation took place one hour before service, with funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio, Texas.
Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, routes 3 and 104, on Monday at 7-9 p.m. A spring graveside service will be held in the Alexander Cemetery, Bow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Griggs-Wyatt American Legion Post No. 33, Plymouth Street, Meredith, NH 03253.
Francis Ellis
DOVER - Francis M. Ellis, 92, formerly a longtime resident of 4 Prebble St., and most recently a resident of 6 Riverwood Circle, Effingham, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at his home.
Born in Dover on Feb. 15, 1909, he was the son of Henry and Florence B. (Colomy) Ellis.
He moved to Effingham one year ago, having lived in Dover many years and attended Dover schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Ellis was retired from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard after 35 years of service.
He was a member of Moses Paul Lodge F&AM No. 96 of Dover; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Consistory, Valley of Nashua; and the James Farrington Chapter No. 7 Order of Eastern Star.
Family members include his stepdaughter, Ruth C. Petechik of Effingham; a son, Francis Ellis and his wife Bonnie of Salisbury, Mass.; several grandchildren including Andrea C. Huff of Effingham, Linda E. Levitt of Milton Mills, and Victoria A. Gray of Rochester; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ellis was predeceased by his wife, Georgia E (Milne) Ellis, who died July 17, 1976; a granddaughter, Karen L. Fortier, and a grandson, John C. Petechik.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover, using Gate 2 off Court Street with the Rev. Robert S. Ervin, rector, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover.
Marc Hebert
ROCHESTER - Marc Thomas Hebert, 42, of 111 Washington St., died unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, in Laconia.
He was born in Rochester on March 15, 1959, son of Tom and Gertrude (Payer) Hebert. He had lived in the Rochester area for most of his life, and at one time was a resident of Scarborough, Maine. He was a graduate of Spaulding High School and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Rochester.
Mr. Hebert worked many years as a salesman in the plumbing and heating wholesale industry. He was known as a loving husband, father, son and brother.
Family members include his parents of Rochester; three children, Jeremy T. Hebert, Ryan H. Hebert and Katie Hebert, all of Scarborough, Maine; a brother, Normand "Bub" Hebert of Bow Lake; three sisters, Anne M. Walter, Francine H. Hoyt and Emily Schwartz, all of Rochester; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his former wife and the mother of his children, Elaine Hebert, of Scarborough, Maine.
Family members and friends may call Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at H.J.Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Lowell Street, Rochester. The Rev. Father Francis Kelsoe, former pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Gonic.
Salvatore Yebba Sr.
MEDFORD, Mass. - Salvatore A. Yebba Sr., 81, of Chelsea, formerly of Medford and the North End of Boston, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, after a long illness in the Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Simone and Carmela (Fiore) Yebba. Mr. Yebba retired in 1973 from the Charlestown Navy Shipyard as a painter and had worked there for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945. He then joined the Army Reserves and retired as a Staff Sergeant E 6 in 1980 after 25 years.
Mr. Yebba was a member of the Chelsea Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Carmela E. (Donadio) Yebba of Chelsea; two daughters, Carmela Armano of Concord, N.H., and Janette Giso of Chelsea; a son, Salvatore A. Yebba Jr. of Londonderry, N.H.; nine grandchildren, Maria Tibbetts, Toni Anne Armano, Jason, Kelly and Brian Reese, Melissa and Melinda Yebba, and Gina and Anthony Giso; a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Tibbetts; two sisters, Sue Biase of Winchester and Jenny Zuccola of Stoneham; a brother, Anthony Yebba of Florida; and Angelo, Nicholas and Phillip Yebba, Angie Corio, Louise Fiore, Luggy Pescue and Nettie Kulas.
Mr. Yebba was predeceased by his daughter, Betty Sue Masterson.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St., Chelsea, the Rev. James J. Barry officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Friends may visit Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.

PORTSMOUTH - Daniel S. Franzoso, director of golf at Wentworth By The Sea Country Club, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Exeter Healthcare in Exeter, ending his inspirational and courageous 4½ year battle against brain cancer.
A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 101 Chapel St., Portsmouth.

Herbert Holt
PORTSMOUTH - Herbert Bentley Holt, 81, husband of Kathleen (Gillard) Holt, of 17 Mariette Drive, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at his home.
He was born in Portsmouth, April 23, 1920, the son of Charles Bentley and Mabel (Abbott) Holt. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1940.
He served in the U.S. Army 197th National Guard Battery D. during World War II.
He was a milkman for H.P. Hood Co. for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Holt; two sons, Brian Holt of Berwick, Maine, and John L. Hackett of Corvallis, Ore; a daughter, Carole Rumberger of Rochester; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Frances Long
HAMPTON - Frances A. Long, 71, formerly of 32 Milbern Ave., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Scarborough Terrace, Scarborough, Maine, after a period of failing health.
Born in Rollinsford, she was the daughter of Emile and Hedwidge (Cloutier) Audet.
She was raised in the Rollinsford/Somersworth area, where she attended St. Martin Academy. She went on to further her education, graduating from Macintosh College.
She had lived in Hampton since 1963 and moved to Maine in 2000. She had been employed for over 20 years with the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an accountant.
Mrs. Long was very active in church affairs and served Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church while living in the Hampton community.
She loved to play cards. An active baseball fan, she thoroughly enjoyed the Boston Red Sox, but most of all, she enjoyed her family and her friends.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Hedwidge Audet of Dover; a daughter, Joanne Smith and her husband, Gary of Scarborough; a brother, Robert Audet of Riverdale, Ga.; and a sister, Rachel Swenson of Cornelius, Ore.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Long, who died in 1995.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St., Somersworth.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Martin Catholic Church, West High Street, Somersworth, with the Rev. Denis Audet, cousin to the deceased, as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth.

Gerard Maurais
SANFORD, Maine - Gerard Maurais, 79, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Goodall Hospital.
He was born in Sanford on Feb. 9, 1922, the son of Edward and Eva Bernier Maurais and attended local schools.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. After the war, he was self- employed in electrical and refrigeration services. He later worked at Raytheon in Andover, Mass., Pease Air Force Base in Newington, N.H., and then served as a maintenance electrician for the Sanford public schools before retiring in 1983.
During the 1960s and 1970s, he (WA1BMG) was active in amateur radio, using Morse code as a preference to communication. One of his retirement activities involved mapping and cataloguing St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
Mr. Maurais was a kind, caring man who thought much of his family. He took great pride in their lives. His family remembers him as always being encouraging, understanding and supportive.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris (Tetreau) Maurais; four sons, Thom of Standish, Owen of Old Town, Edward of Biddeford and Robert of Windham; three daughters, Marie David of Merrimack, N.H., Margaret Maurais of Sanford and Judith Bass of Longwood, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren.
Linda Yuva
KITTERY, Maine - Linda Anne Yuva, 39, of Cutts Road, died suddenly Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, in York.
Born in Kittery, March 3, 1962, she was a daughter of Joseph and Joyce (Ayotte) Jackson.
She attended local schools, graduating from R.W. Traip Academy. She furthered her education at McIntosh College in Dover, N.H., receiving her degree in criminal justice.
She was employed by All Pro Roofing of Dover as an office manager, she was well known in the seacoast area for her karaoke singing at Jimmy’s in Dover and at Rascal’s in Portsmouth, N.H.
She will be remembered as a hip mom, always in style and dedicated to raising her five children, who will miss her dearly. Her friendly, caring manner will be fondly remembered by her many friends and family.
She is survived by her parents, Joyce Jackson of Portsmouth and Joseph Jackson of Arkansas; her five children, Matthew Golter and his fiancé, Amanda Whitney of Kittery, Erica Golter of Kittery, Tyler and Spencer Yuva of Kittery and Jennifer Germana of Kittery; a brother, Kenneth Jackson and his wife, Lori of Kittery.
She was predeceased by her brother, Stephen Jackson in 1989.
A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road/U.S. Route 1 By-Pass, Kittery.
Friends and family may call from 9 to 11 a.m. before the funeral at the funeral home.

Annette Boisvert
PORTSMOUTH - Annette L. Boisvert, 96, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at the Rockingham Nursing Home in Brentwood after a long illness.
Born in St. Marie, Quebec, Canada, on June 14, 1905, she was a daughter of Charles and Clara (Rouleau) Carter and had been a resident of Portsmouth since 1942.
The widow of Arthur J. Boisvert, who died in 1981, she is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Miller of Greenland; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Claire Dion of Portsmouth and Rita Dupuis of Canada; five brothers, Charles Carter, Renold Blouin, Hugh Blouin, Paul Blouin and Guy Blouin, all of Canada; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Arlene Boisvert and Marie Walker; and two sons, Laval Pomerleau and Denis Pomerleau.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth.
Edward Buontempo
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Edward V. Buontempo, 86, of N.W. Marion Ave., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at the St. Lucie Medical Center.
Born in Boston, Mass., April 16, 1915, he was the son of Frank and Philomena Buontempo. He was the husband of Evelyn (Matick) Buontempo.
He was employed many years as a truck driver with the transportation department of Raytheon in Andover, Mass. He was also a shop steward with the Teamsters Union. He was an avid fan of all sports and was able to see the Patriots win their first Super Bowl. He was also an avid bowler and was known for winning a few trophies in his younger days. He enjoyed boxing and coached little league baseball.
In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by two sons, Edward Jr. and Paul Buontempo of Amesbury, Mass.; one daughter, Pam Conroy of East Andover, N.H.; one stepson, Donald Pratt of Epping, N.H.; two stepdaughters, Sharon Hickey of Gilford, N.H., and Hazel McDonald of Boxford, Mass.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Alan Buontempo and stepfather of the late Sylvia Gilmore.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Parish’s St. Joseph Upper Church on School Street in Amesbury. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury.
