Jacqueline Trafton

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Jacqueline E. "Jackie" Trafton, 59, of 70 Pond Road, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H., following a long illness.

Born Aug. 22, 1942, in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of John G. and Elizabeth R. (McGuire) O’Dowd.

She was a graduate of St. Claire High School in West Roxbury, Mass., and had been a resident of South Berwick for the past 31 years. She was well known for her 13 years of dedicated service as a clerk in the town clerk’s office in South Berwick.

She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church. She enjoyed trips to Rangeley, her flower garden, gardening and her dog, Jessie.

Family members include her husband, Gordon B. "Bruce" Trafton of South Berwick; her son, Keith G. Trafton of Eliot; two brothers, Richard G. O’Dowd of Pembroke, Mass., and Dr. Philip O’Dowd of Barrington, R.I.; her sister-in-law, Carol O’Dowd of Pembroke, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Mark O’Dowd.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St., South Berwick. A Liturgy of the Word service will be conducted on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Seacoast Cancer Clinic, c/o Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, 789 Central Ave., Dover, NH 03820.

Raymond Trueworthy

ROCHESTER - Raymond E. Trueworthy, 75, of 193 Brock St., died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, following a sudden illness.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral & Cremation Services, 177 North Main St., Rochester.

Suzann Bauer-Luceri, 40,
operated dental practice in Rochester
STRATHAM - Suzann Bauer-Luceri, 40, of 5 Dumbarton Oaks, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Born in Portsmouth, April 21, 1962, she was the daughter of Frederick and Adrienne (Shannon) Bauer. She graduated from Portsmouth High School and was president of the Class of 1980. She attended Case Western Reserve University in Ohio where she received her undergraduate degree and graduated from the university dental school in 1988.

For the past seven years she had operated her dental practice in Rochester. She was a member of the New Hampshire Dental Society and the American Dental Society.

She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Portsmouth.

In addition to her parents of Portsmouth, she is survived by her husband, David C. Luceri; her two daughters, Adrienne E. Luceri and Arianna S. Luceri, all of Stratham; sisters, Gail Williams and her husband, Greg, of Roslyn, Calif., Michelle Zaremba and her husband, Jack, of Acton, Mass., Nancy E. Bauer of Newton, Mass., and Elaine S. Bauer of Greenland; brothers, Gary Bauer and his wife, Martha, of Hope, Idaho; Michael F. Bauer of Hilton Head, S.C., Anthony Bauer and his wife, Robin, of Stratham, and Gregory Bauer and his wife, Nicole, of Hampton; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church Woodbury Ave., Portsmouth, on Monday at 10 a.m.

Visiting hours at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire, 66 Hanover St., Suite 101, Manchester, NH 03101-2230.

Albert Bourassa

SOMERSWORTH - Albert Bourassa, 88, formerly of Somersworth died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at St. Ann Home in Dover.

He was born in Manchester the son of Samuel and Josephine (Champoux) Bourassa.

Mr. Bourassa had resided in Manchester most of his life moving to the Tri-City area 15 years ago.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrate 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug.13 at St. Ann Home, 195 Dover Point Road, Dover with the Rev. Thomas Coover officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth. Roberge Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Hall Jr.

DOVER - Charles Taber Hall Jr., 91, formerly of Dover, died at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen on July 30, 2002.

He was born in Fall River, Mass., April 17, 1911, the son of Charles Taber Hall Sr. and Ida Winifred (Henderson) Hall.

Mr. Hall grew up in Arlington, Mass., and summered in St. Malachie, PQ, Canada. He was a graduate of Holderness Prep School and attended Dartmouth College. Mr. Hall formerly resided in Toledo, Ohio, before moving to Dover where he lived for 20 years.

During World War II, he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Hall was an underwriter for Liberty Mutual in Boston and later transferred to Virginia Surity in Toledo, Ohio, where he was employed until retirement.

Following retirement, he assisted at the boathouse at Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth where he made copper nails and explained the construction of dories to the visitors. Mr. Hall was a member of The Rod & Gun Club in Barrington.

While in Toledo, he was active with the 111th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, a Civil War reenactment club.

Family members include two daughters, Beverly Parker of Durham and Deborah Houck of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a nephew, Murray Ingraham of Dover; and two nieces, Nancy Kranes of Bridgewater, Mass., and Mrs. Lee Overall of Harpswell, Maine.

Private graveside services will be held in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett, Mass. Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin, is in charge of arrangements.

Denise Y. Soucy

GILFORD - Mrs. Denise Y. Soucy, 46, of 3 Marine Drive, died Wednesday evening, July 31, 2002 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia following an illness.

Mrs. Soucy was born Dec. 21, 1955, in Nashua, the daughter of Fernand and Theresa (Lemay) Ricard. She was a graduate of the Nashua High School class of 1973.

Mrs. Soucy and her family have been residents of Gilford since 1986. She was an office clerk for the Town of Gilford.

Mrs. Soucy was a communicant and taught CCD at Sacred Heart Church, Laconia.

Mrs. Soucy was active in the Gilford High School Athletic Booster Club and also a Board member of the Aaron T. Francour Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Soucy always had a smile, was there for her family and sons’ games, loved flowers, gardening, walks, oceans and the coast of Maine. She was a fighter, which gave her family strength, a beautiful woman and also willing to help and donate her time to others.

Survivors include her husband, Norman M. Soucy of Gilford; three sons, Michael and his wife Janice Soucy of East Hampton, Mass., Nathan Soucy and Brett Soucy, both of Gilford; a grandson, Nicolas Soucy of East Hampton, Mass.; her mother, Theresa Ricard of Nashua; a sister and brother-in-law, Paula and William Johnston of Merrimack; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Cecile Soucy of Nashua; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Claudette of Rehoboth, Mass., Richard and Anne Morrissette of Hillsboro, and Steven and Denise Hansen of Groton, Mass.; numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Carriage house of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia. The Rev. Adrien Longchamps will officiate.

Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford.

Edith Allen
DURHAM - Edith M. (York) Allen, 74, of Durham, formally of Hillsboro, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover, after a seven-year struggle with cancer.

She was born and raised in Hillsboro, moving to Durham five years ago. She was the daughter of Ollo P. and Frances L. (Herrington) York. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and the University of New Hampshire, Durham, Class of 1949.

Mrs. Allen was the devoted wife of 52 years of Gordon J. Allen of Durham; devoted mother of two sons, James and his wife, Dorene Y. Allen, of Dover, and Robert and his wife, Deborah B. Allen, of Bow; five grandchildren; and four nephews.

Calling hours will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 32 School St., Hillsboro.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Hillsboro. The Rev. Christopher Stage and the Rev. Steve Spearing, pastors of Hope Community Church, Dover, will officiate

Burial will follow in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Hillsboro. Donations may be made in her name to the Hillsboro Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 350, Hillsboro, NH 03244.

Andrew Catino

DOVER - Andrew J. Catino died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.

Visiting hours will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester St., Berwick, Maine. Interment will be in New Town Cemetery in Rollinsford.

Robert Linnehan

HAMPTON FALLS - Robert Michael Linnehan, 70, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mary M. (Carney) Linnehan, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.

He was born on Jan. 26, 1932, a son of Elsie (Francia) Linnehan of Haverhill, and the late John H. Linnehan. He attended Haverhill public schools, Merrimack College, and Boston College. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in England during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Air Force Golf Team that traveled throughout Europe and North Africa. He was an avid golfer throughout his life. As a youth he caddied at the Haverhill Country Club, entered and won many amateur tournaments in the Merrimack Valley and in the Air Force, and became an assistant pro at Nashawtuk County Club in Concord, Mass., and Goose Creek Country Club in Leesburg, Va. He joined the Mid-Atlantic PGA Tour in the late 1960s.

He enjoyed meteorology, was a member of the St. James Holy Name Society, and was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Mr. Linnehan was a proud supporter of his children’s academic and athletic endeavors.

He was the comptroller and general manager of Yankee Greyhound Racing in Seabrook for the past 28 years, where he was appreciated and respected by colleagues and patrons for his fairness and genuine approach.

In addition to being a loving husband and son, he was a caring and devoted father to 13 children, Mary Ellen and her husband, Dr. Christopher Allegra, of Rye, N.Y.; Johanna Linnehan of Jamaica Plain, Mass.; Elsa M. Linnehan of Cambridge, Mass.; Robert M. Linnehan Jr. of Hampton Falls; Hugh J. and his wife, Petra Linnehan, of Portsmouth; Christine M. Linnehan of Portsmouth; Michael E. and and his wife, Robin Linnehan, of Hampton Falls; Jodi C. Linnehan of Plaistow; John F. X. Linnehan of Albuquerque, N.M.; Anne E. and and husband, Matthew Leary, of Wakefield, Mass.; Joseph J. and his wife, Sarah Linnehan, of Hampton; Kathryn P. Linnehan of Hampton Falls; Julie E. Linnehan of Medford, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas Linnehan of Springfield Va., James Linnehan of Dracut, Mass., and William Linnehan of Atkinson; two sisters, Dorothy Bang of San Jose, Calif., and Mary Hoyt of Plaistow.

Mr. Linnehan was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Linnehan of Lowell, Mass.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church at 11 a.m. on Monday. Family and friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, at the Robert K. Gray Jr. Funeral Home, 24 Winnacunnet Road, Hampton. Interment in the family lot in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover, Mass., immediately following the funeral Mass.

In his memory, contributions may be made to the Tufts New England Medical Center; The Bone Marrow Transplant Unit c/o Dr. Kenneth Miller, 750 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111.

Pauline Boyd
ROCHESTER - Pauline Boyd, 78, formerly of 145 Eastern Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the Dover Rehabilitation and Living Center after a short illness.

Born Feb. 9, 1924, in Lebanon, Maine, she was the daughter of Harry and Mabel (Drowns) Wiggin.

Mrs. Boyd had lived in Rochester all her life. She was employed as an office manager at Farmington Shoe Co., Jarvis, Wyndotte Mills and M.D. Copp and Sons.

Members of her family include her sons, John Boyd of Rothesay, New Brunswick, Canada, and Stephen T. Boyd of Rochester; her daughter, Katherine Morin of Wakefield; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Boyd.

Calling hours will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the True Memorial Baptist Church, Ten Rod Road, Rochester.

Alexander Cuff

ROCHESTER - Mr. Alexander Cuff, 98, of Lynn Lane, died early Thursday morning, Dec. 12, 2002, at the Rochester Manor.

Born Aug. 11, 1904, in Buena Vista, Newfoundland, he was the son of Joseph and Harriett (Little) Cuff.

He had resided in Rochester for many years, having previously resided in Somerville, Mass., and Saugus, Mass., for many years.

Prior to retirement, he was employed with the Monsanto Chemical Co. of Everett, Mass.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was predeceased by his wife, Victoria (Oldford) Cuff, who died in 1995.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jean and Charles W. Campbell of Rochester; three granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to a funeral service on Saturday at 2 p.m. at C.E. Peaslee and Son Funeral Home, 32 Central St., Farmington, with the Rev. William Powell, paster of the Grace Baptist Church of East Rochester, officiating. The calling hour is prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Mass.

Raelene Fowler

AMESBURY, Mass. - Raelene A. Fowler, 60, and a resident of 45 Macy Street, Amesbury, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at the Anna Jaques Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tracy N. Fowler, who died April 12, 1997, and a brother, Daniel Herlihy.

Born in Newburyport on May 27, 1942, daughter of Daniel and Blanche (Merrill) Herlihy, she had been a lifelong resident of the city.

A graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1961, she had operated with her husband the food concession at Towle Silversmiths for over 22 years until Towle closed local operations. More recently, she had been employed at Bartley R.F. in Amesbury.

She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, who enjoyed camping with her family, being at the beach with her sisters and had been a member of the Women of the Moose in Newburyport.

She is survived by three children, Tammi J. Stanwood and her husband, Jeffrey of Somersworth, N.H., Tracy N. Fowler Jr., of Newbury and Sherry A. Tester and her husband, Capt. Daniel of Manlius, N.Y.; one brother; Brian Herlihy of Salisbury; two sisters, Paula Raven of Newburyport and Robin Follansbee of Salisbury; five grandchildren, Jessica, Courtney and Katherine of Somersworth, N.H., and McCoy and Nathaniel Tester of Manlius, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 16, at the Hope Community Church, 11 Hale St., Newburyport, Mass., at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be Sunday at Simplicity Burial & Cremation Services, 287 High St., Newburyport, from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Building 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.

Stuart Libby

YORK, Maine - Stuart E. Libby, 50, of York, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at York Hospital following a period of failing health.

Born on Sept. 30, 1952, in Dexter, Maine, he was the son of Lemond and Gertrude (Holbrook) Stuart. He attended York schools graduating from York High School.

From the early age of 11, his love of the ocean was evident. He started fishing with his family and later became a commercial fisherman. He was the youngest fishing boat captain at the time to captain a commercial vessel. Over the years, he had captained a number of vessels. Most recently, he was the captain of the Finest Kind I, for over six years.

He was a member of the York Elks club and a member of the sons of the American Legion, Frank E. Booma Post No. 6 of Portsmouth. He was an avid pool player. He enjoyed playing pool for recreation and competing in pool tournaments. His love of the outdoors also allowed him to enjoy time spent fresh water fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his daughters, Meeghan and her husband, Andrew Baumler, and their son, Gavin of Kennebunk; Ashley Harvey and her husband, Mike Harvey, and their daughter, Katelyn Ferris of York; his sons, Matthew Libby of Sanford and Brandon Libby of York; and his former wife, Debra Santiago.

A funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m. at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Please omit flowers. Donations may be made in his memory to the Stuart Libby Memorial Fund, c/o Meeghan Baumler, 34 Hillcrest Dr., Kennebunk, ME 04043.
