MILFORD - Corey F. Stoller, 20, of 123 Chappell Drive, Milford, died June 12, 2003, at his home.
He was born in Nashua on April 19, 1983, a son of Bruce D. and Kelly L. (Stewart) Stoller.
He had been a resident of Milford for most of his life.
He was a sophomore at the University of New Hampshire in Durham.
He graduated in the top 10 of his class from Milford High School, Class of 2001, and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was voted All-around Senior.
He enjoyed writing, philosophy and loved music. In the high school jazz and marching band, he played the clarinet and was most recently teaching himself the guitar. In addition, he was learning Hebrew.
He recently was invited to a poetry reading in Groton, Mass., where he read his own essays, poetry and excerpts from his novel, "Scripture of a Dreamer."
He also spoke at the American Cancer Society benefit at the University of New Hampshire.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Milford, UCC, and was active in the church youth group.
He had been most recently attending Temple Israel in Dover where he participated in the Dover Soup Kitchen.
In addition to his parents, family members include a brother, Andrew J. Stoller of Milford; maternal grandparents, Frederick and Jacquelyn Stewart of Manchester; paternal grandmother, Ethel Steinberg of Delray Beach, Fla.; maternal great-grandmother, Aileen Brigham of Colebrook; two aunts and an uncle, Marc Stoller and his wife, Lee Rey, of New York City, Leslie Platto of Somers, N.Y.; many great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours are Monday, June 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Milford. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Milford, 10 Union St., Milford. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.

Harry Adams
WEST NEWFIELD, Maine - Harry T. Adams, 66, of West Newfield, died Thursday, July 24, 2003.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1936, in Lowell, Mass., the son of Richard and Helen Marcotte Adams.
Mr. Adams spent most of his life in Chelmsford, Mass. It was there that he attended schools and ran his own business as a tree surgeon before retiring in 1993 and moving to West Newfield.
Hunting, fishing and gardening were some of his favorite pastimes. He was a great outdoorsman with a fantastic sense of humor and really enjoyed life.
He was predeceased by his son, Eric Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Claudette "Cleo" Adams of West Newfield; two daughters, Dorothy "Dot" Dwyer of Australia and Sherri Adams-Buldoc of Wells; two granddaughters, Erika and Ashlyn Dwyer; two sisters, Esther Pitre of Groton, Mass., and Dorothy Raso of Stoneham, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Anita Kent
NEWINGTON - Anita M. (Gardiner) Kent, 66, wife of Paul Kent, of 187 Little Bay Road died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
She was born in Portsmouth on Nov. 22, 1936, the daughter of Leon and Josephine (Dresig) Gardiner and was a graduate of Traip Academy in Kittery, Maine.
Anita was employed as a classified ad supervisor for the Portsmouth Herald, retiring in 1998 after 44 years. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth.
Besides her husband of 31 years, Paul, survivors include three daughters, Jennifer Kent Weiner and her husband, James, of Chelmsford, Mass., Victoria Kent Eversman and her husband, Stuart, of Newmarket, and Heidi Kent Ricci and her husband, John, of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Alexandra Kent Ricci and Joseph Erminio Ricci, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Lillian Lund, and her husband, Ivan, of Maine and Florida; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Clifford Gardiner, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Chapel Street, Portsmouth, on Monday at 2 p.m. Friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held at J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth, on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Family flowers only. Elsie Mace
PORTSMOUTH - Elsie Margaret (Sparks) Mace, 93, of 128 Eastwood Drive, passed away Friday, July, 25, 2003, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
She was born June 6, 1910, in Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of Janet Elizabeth (Greene) Sparks and Newman Douglas Sparks.
She graduated from Watertown High School and attended the Boston Conservatory School of Music. As a child, she summered in Rye Beach, later moving to Portsmouth in the 1950s.
She and her husband of 57 years, George S. Mace, retired to New Durham in 1978. While there, she enjoyed many days exploring the town of Wolfeboro on Lake Winnipesaukee with its many fine shops, restaurants and entertainment.
Her favorite pastimes were listening to music and attending concerts, both vocal and instrumental.
In 1997, she and her husband moved back to Portsmouth to be closer to her daughter and two grandsons.
While living in New Durham she began attending Nute Ridge Bible Chapel in Milton, which she continued to attend even after returning to Portsmouth. She cherished the many friendships she made there.
In addition to her husband George, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Stephen Lord of Portsmouth; and two grandsons, Justin Mace Lord and Jarrod Stephen Lord, also of Portsmouth. She is also survived by a niece, Jerri Tucker of Rye; three nephews, Douglas Sparks of Rye, Kenneth Sparks and Bartlett Sparks of Florida; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Sparks of Rye; and several cousins. She is also survived by Brenda Daigle of Maine, who she considered a daughter and her family.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mabel Sparks, and two brothers, Ralph and Lester Sparks.
Funeral services will be held at J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with an hour of visiting from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service. John Cook
OCALA, Fla. - John Henry Cook Jr., 80, of 6497 S.W. 106th Place, Ocala, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003.
He was a machinist for a print company in North Berwick, Maine. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in New Hampshire; the Civil Air Patrol; and was a department commander of the American Legion in New Hampshire. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He first worked for Boston & Maine Railroad from 1945 to 1960 and then was a machinist for Moore Printing in Dover from 1960 to 1985.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty L. Foley of Andover, Mass.; and a brother, Walter F. Cook of Ocala, Fla.
Charles Sobolewski
SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Charles R. Sobolewski, 61, of Woodland Hills, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital following years of failing health.
He was born in Chelsea, Mass., on Oct. 27, 1941, the son of Matthew and Frances (Reeves) Sobolewski and had lived here for 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having earned the distinction of expert rifleman.
Members of the family include his wife, Margie (Reed) Sobolewski of South Berwick; his mother, Frances Sobolewski of Georgetown, Mass.; his children, Todd Sobolewski, Diana Crafts, Andrea Babin, Jill Sawyer and Tara Sobolewski; his sister, Candy Corvillo of Georgetown, Mass.; and several grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family lot in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick. Flowers will be gratefully accepted.
Muriel Sullivan
RYE - Muriel Bilodeau Sullivan, 84, formerly of Dover and Portsmouth, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at Webster at Rye Nursing Home after a period of failing health.
Born in Lewiston, Maine, on Aug. 6,1919, she was the daughter of Adelard and Marie Anastasie (Caron) Dulac. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1939.
Muriel was a homemaker in Lewiston and Portsmouth and enjoyed many hobbies including crafts and was an award-winning rug braider. She worked in the housekeeping department at Portsmouth Hospital in the 1960s and later in the cafeteria at Portsmouth High School.
She was an active member of the Portsmouth Democratic Party from the 1950s through the 1980s and was a longtime Ward 2 selectman during this time. She was a former member and officer of the Portsmouth Emblem Club, the Altar Society of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Portsmouth Service Mothers Club where she was honored as Mother of the Year in 1978, the Piscataqua Chapter 4 DAV Auxillary, where she served as chaplain; and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond A. Bilodeau, who died in 1965; and her second husband, John J. Sullivan, who died in 2000. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by a son, Eugene Bilodeau, in 1958; three brothers, Emile Dulac, Maurice Dulac, Willie Dulac; and a sister, Marie Jeanne Cote.

Joseph Porter
ROLLINSFORD - Joseph Lavander Porter of Silver Street, a resident of Rollinsford since 1914, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Dover Rehab., after a brief period of failing health.
Born Sept. 16, 1904, in South Berwick, Maine, he was the son of the late Herman W. and Katherine M. (Agnew) Porter.
In 1935, he married Marion Wentworth. She was a descendant of Icabod Rollins, for whom Rollinsford was named. He worked in grocery stores until he started one of his own with his wife, retiring in 1974. In 1935, he became the tax collector and was appointed to that position for 20 years. For 17 years he was a member of the budget committee and for 10 years as town treasurer.
In 1969 he became treasurer of the sewer department and continued in that position until 1981. He was a trustee of the Trust Fund, trustee of Public Cemeteries, a member of Surveyors of Wood and Lumber, a 50-year member of Hiram R. Roberts Grange in Rollinsford and received the Boston Post Cane in 2000 at the age of 96.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy W. Brown and her husband, Earl, of Rochester and Joanne E. Anderson and her husband, Jerry, of Rollinsford; six grandchildren, Julie Anderson of Rollinsford, Jeffrey Anderson of Rollinsford, Joseph Anderson of Salem, Stanley Brown of Dallas, Texas, Karen Hendrickson of Bowie, Md., and Sharon Schick of Sunnyvale, Calif; three great-grandchildren, Luke and Kara Anderson of Salem and Raya Anderson of Rollinsford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Wentworth) Porter, who died in 1982; four brothers, Herman C. Porter, George F. Porter, Haven F. Porter and Thornton A. Porter; and two sisters, Barbara K. Magaw and Ruth P. Emerson.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, with the Rev. Mark Rideout officiating. Burial will take place in the New Town Cemetery, Rollinsford.

Helen Grobes
DOVER - Helen "Peggy" Ann Grobes, 59, of 57 Glenwood Ave., died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, after a period of failing health.
Born Jan. 15, 1944, in Dover, she was the daughter of Chester L. and the late Helen (Knowlton) Goodrich.
She was a lifelong resident of the Rollinsford-Dover area. She was a graduate of Dover High School, Class of 1962. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and knitting. She will be remembered as devoted wife and a loving mother.
Survivors include her father, Chester L. Goodrich of Rollinsford; her husband, McKinley "Mac" Grobes of Dover; a son, Bryan M. Drew of Walpole, Mass.; a daughter, Jocelyn K. Drew of Hampton; and three grandchildren, Morgan Drew, Taylor Drew and Taber Smith.
She was predeceased by her mother, a son, Michael J. Drew, and a brother, William A. Goodrich.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert G. Cole of the Bethel Christian Church of North Berwick officiating.
Burial will take place in the New Town Cemetery in Rollinsford.

Neal Welch
NORTH BERWICK, Maine - Neal Welch, 79, of Portland Street, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, in SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Portsmouth, N.H.
Born in Dover, N.H. on Jan. 27, 1924, he was the son of Harley and Mabel (Neal) Welch.
He graduated from North Berwick High School. For many, many years, he was the custodian at the North Berwick Elementary School.
He was an avid New York Yankees fan and once traveled to Florida to shake hands with the owner, George Steinbrenner.
He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Ellis of Tampa, Fla., and Christine Sewell of Santa Cruz, Calif.
Visiting hours will be held Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market St., North Berwick where a funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Dutch Cemetery, North Berwick. Robert Downs
NEWINGTON - Robert A. Downs, 81, widower of Teresa M. "Terry" (Knights) Downs, of 101 Patterson Lane, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
He was born in Newburyport, Mass. on April 20, 1922, the son of Frank O. and Melissa (Gooch) Downs.
He was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1940.
He had resided in Newington since 1970 and previously in Hampton for 22 years.
During World War II, he served in both the U.S. Army Air Corps and the U.S. Army.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a production planner.
He was a life member of DAV, Piscataqua Chapter #4, Newington.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Phyllis Knights of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Frederick Knights and his wife, Madeline of Barnet, Vt.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
