Frank Mazza Jr., 71, of Hammonton and N. Hutchinson Island, Fla., died July 3, 2006.
Frank passed away surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Syndrome.
Born in Hammonton, Frank served in the United States Navy. He owned and operated Frank Mazza & Son Furniture since 1958 working side by side with his father and his sons. He was an active member in his community serving in many organizations including Rotary (Pres. – 1966), Chamber of Commerce (Pres. – 1975), Empire Savings Board of Directors, American Legion #186, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 1026, Sons of Italy and the Tri State Home Furnishing Association.
Surviving him are: wife, Carol (nee Winfield); daughter, Donna Mazza McDonald and her husband Steve; son, Frank III and wife Nancy; son, Gary and his wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Steven, Sean, Ryan McDonald, Amanda, Tyler Mazza, Domenic, John Paul Mazza; sister, Annetta; brothers-in-law, Charles Crowley, Raymond Winfield.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on July 6 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by entombment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Frank Mazza to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, 11350 McCormick Road, Suite 906, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.

Eugene A. Grippi, D.D.S., 89, of Hammonton, died July 6, 2006, at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born and raised in Old Forge, Pa., he was a graduate of Old Forge High School, the University of Scranton and Temple University School of Dentistry class of 1941. He served as captain in the United States Army during WWII. He was stationed on a Transport Troopship, the Queen Mary. He made many Atlantic crossings as well as traveled to Australia during his tour of duty. He practiced dentistry for over 50 years mostly in partnership with his wife Evelyn. He served on the board at the Peoples Bank, was a member of the Knights of Columbus council #3471 and belonged to several service clubs in the town of Hammonton. He was an avid golfer and Yankees fan.
Predeceased by: wife, Evelyn G. (nee Volpe) D.D.S.; son, Michael; brothers, Joseph and Edward Grippi; sister, Lena Grippi. Surviving him are: several nieces, nephews, great-nieces; great-nephews; caregiver, Marie Mauiro.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial July 10 at St. Martin de Porres Church followed by entombment at Greenmount Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Lillian Raffa (nee Scaltrito), 83, of Hammonton, died July 8, 2006, at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. She formerly worked as a machine operator for Aggressive Coat Company in Hammonton.
Predeceased by: husband, Paul J. Raffa. Surviving her are: sons, Paul A. Raffa and Diane LaMonica, Ronald J. and Trish Raffa all of Hammonton; brothers, Frank Scaltrito of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Angelo Scaltrito of Hammonton; sisters, Josephine Cirillo, Nina DeNucci, Nancy Ezzi, Anne Romeo all of Hammonton; granddaughter, Kara Marie Raffa.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on July 11 at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church. Entombment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

William C. Rusnak, 77, of Waterford, died peacefully after a lengthy illness on July 4, 2006, at J.F. Kennedy Hospital in Stratford.
Born in Waterford, he was an area resident all his life. He retired as the secretary/treasurer of Rusnak Bros. Inc.
Predeceased by: parents, Stephen and Elizabeth; brothers, Stephen Jr. and Frank. Surviving him are: wife, Mary Ann (nee Maines); son, William C. Jr. of Waterford; daughters, Karen Rusnak of Waterford, Kathleen Ulrich and her husband Douglas of Chuluota, Fla.,; brother, George Rusnak and his wife Florence of Waterford; sister, Betty Wolszyn and her husband Frank of Waterford; loving grandchildren, Rita Marie, Richard W. Ulrich; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on July 8 at St. Anthony Church in Waterford followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin.

Martinez Colon, 35, of Hammonton, died July 11, at Atlantic City Medical Center.
Born in Hammonton, he was a lifelong resident.
Predeceased by: mother, Velma (nee Davis.) Surviving him are: father, Francisco Colon Jr.; siblings, Francisco Colon Jr. of Newtonville, Patricia Colon Watts, Clarissa Colon both of Sicklerville, Cecelia Colon of Hammonton, Felicia Colon of Voorhees, Ella Louise Colon of Bridgeport, Conn.; 17 nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on July 17 at the Marinella Funeral Home followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Radames Vazquez, 40, of Greystone Park, N.J. and formerly of Hammonton, died July 10, 2006.
Surviving him are: mother, Milagros Ayala of Newtonville; father, Norgado Vazquez of Puerto Rico; siblings, Iris, Carlos, Tito, Edgardo, Norilda, Luis, Elmer, Jose, Wilbert, Maria, Nelly, Javier, Ramon, David.

Lourdes Mendez, 36, of Hammonton, died July 6, 2006.
Born in Puerto Rico, she was a Hammonton area resident for 18 years.
Surviving her are: mother, Julia Baez of Puerto Rico; sons, Juan Santos Jr. and Avel Santos.
Funeral services were held privately and burial will be held in Puerto Rico.

George Mirras, 81, of Hammonton, died July 6, 2006.
Born in Greece, he was a resident of Hammonton for 13 years. Before retiring, he worked at several different restaurants in New York City.
Surviving him are: three sisters; several nieces and nephews.

Josephine R. Peca of Hammonton died July 10, 2006, at Innova Health Care in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a longtime resident of the Philadelphia and Yeadon area before moving to Williamstown seven years ago.
Predeceased by: husbands, Cecil Mixon in 1960 and Carmen J. Peca Sr. in 2005. Surviving her are: daughters, Barbara Capone of Nesco, Kathleen Mancaruso and her husband Joseph of Green Lane, Pa.; son, Joseph Peca of Philadelphia, eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on July 14 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church followed by entombment at Fernwood Cemetery in Fernwood, Pa.

Robert Kenneth Perry, 82, of Newtonville, died July 8, 2006, at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Newtonville for many years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Perry was a member of the Hammonton VFW Post 1026 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a superintendent plumber of Dunbar’s in New York City.
Predeceased by: children, James Caroline, Jestine Caroline, Marvin Perry, Kenneth Perry, Robert Perry and Calvin Perry. Surviving him are: wife, Mary Perry (nee Hunter); children, Margaret Caviness, Robert E. Perry both of Sicklerville, Ronald Caroline of Atlantic City, Jocelyn Perry of Pine Hill, Allen Perry of Sewell, Daren Perry of Lenoir, N.C., Jonathan Perry of Washington, DC, Eugene Perry of Millville, Dannetta Perry, Stacey Perry both of Newtonville, Gaynelle Barber of Cameron, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Phyllis Perry of Jesup, Ga.; 57 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.

Fred Niceta Sr., 86, of Blue Anchor, died July 16, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Philadelphia, he was an Army veteran of World War II, and a former member of the American Legion Post in Elm. Mr. Niceta was a retired heavy equipment operator for Robert Mauriello of Cedarbrook.
Surviving him are: wife of 60 years, Carmella (nee Matassa); daughter Barbara Carlamere and her husband Joseph Jr. of Blue Anchor; son, Fred Niceta Jr. of Hammonton; sisters, Lena Schultz of Clementon, Margaret Snow of Sicklerville; grandchildren, Joseph Carlamere, Kevin Carlamere, Jason Carlamere, Jennifer Niceta, Michael Niceta; four great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing today at 8:30 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Lucy’s R.C. Church, Route 73, Blue Anchor. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.

Anne Romeo of Hammonton, died July 11, 2006, in Innova Health and Rehab Center in Hammonton.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. Before her retirement, Mrs. Romeo worked for Britta’s Shoe Store in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: daughters, Josephine Romeo and Barbara DeLaurentis both of Hammonton; brothers, Angelo Scaltrito of Hammonton, Frank Scaltrito of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; sisters, Josephine Cirillo, Nina DeNucci, Nancy Ezzi all of Hammonton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Marie K. Bennett (nee Siracusa), 81, of Waterford, died July 14, 2006, at her residence.
Born in Atlantic City, she was a resident of Hammonton most of her life. She was a graduate of Atlantic City High School class of 1942.
Predeceased by: husband, Gordon; son, David. Surviving her are: sons, Gordon N. Jr. and his wife Pat of Jackson, Mich., Mark D. and his wife Janine of Waterford; daughters, Deborah Callaghan and her husband Tom of Brooklyn, Charlotte Bennett of Waterford; grandchildren, Kelly, Damien, Danielle, Francis, Bennett, Kelsey, Mark; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Joseph, Rebecca, David; longtime neighbor and best friend, Frances Capelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service today at 2 p.m. at the Victory Bible Church in Hammonton. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

John Capella, 91, of Hammonton, died July 17, at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Born in Hammonton, he was a lifelong resident. A 1933 graduate of Hammonton High School, John attended technical schools for electronics and stainless steel design. John was employed as a postman and a stainless steel designer. He worked for more than 25 years as an electric technician for RCA, retiring in 1978. He later worked as an Atlantic City Expressway toll taker retiring at age 88. For the past 25 years, John handed out cups of water to the participants in the Procession of Saints during the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival as they passed his home on Fairview Avenue. An avid gardener, John loved tending his lawn, flowers and many plants, including award-winning tomatoes and hot peppers that he shared with his family. He was also talented in house repairs.
Predeceased by: first wife, Josephine (nee Tomasello); brothers, Nicholas and Anthony Capella; sister, Anna Capella.
Surviving him are: wife Anna Watson Capella (nee Ranere); daughters, Joann Aach and her husband Jerry of Sunset Beach, N.C., Dorothy Grasso and her husband Frank of Hammonton; step children, Charles Watson and his wife Rosalie of Hammonton, Mark Watson and his wife Judith of Hammonton, Karen DeMarchi and her husband Ronald of Linwood, Patricia Wagner of Hammonton; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on July 20 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
