Millicent Sofia (nee Palmieri), 55, of Hammonton died August 29 at Cooper Hospital in Camden, N.J.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a lifelong Hammonton resident.
Millicent was the owner of Our Expressions Flower Shop in Hammonton. She was a member and past president of the Sunshine Foundation; a member of MainStreet Hammonton and a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She was a former member of St. Anthony’s Parish Council and the Women’s Auxiliary Hammonton Fire Co. No. 2.
Millicent is predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary Palmieri; her fathers-in-law Charles DeMarco and Samuel P. Sofia and Michael “Cheech” Silipigni, who was raised as her brother.
She is survived by her husband Sam Sofia Sr; her two sons Sam Sofia Jr. and his friend Tina Radosti; Steven Sofia and best friend Melissa Rodio, all of Hammonton; her brothers Ralph Palmieri and Michael Rechel of Collingswood and Joseph and Cheryl Palmieri of South Portland, Maine; her grandson Joey “Peach” Sofia; her nieces and nephews Mike and Esther Palmieri, Chris and Rich Streett, Kimmy Zarzycki; her mother-in-law Dorothy DeMarco; sister-in-law Carol Becker; and her cousins that were raised as brothers and sisters: Sandy DiFilippo, Mary McIntosh, Pat Esposito, Paul Silipino and their children. Millicent is also survived by her very special friend Bernadette Bruno.
Friends and relatives are invited to call Friday, September 1, at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Route 206, Hammonton. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Edward H. Grimm Sr., 83, of Hammonton, died August 22, 2006, at home with his family by his side.
Born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., he lived in the Hammonton and Folsom area for more than 80 years. Mr. Grimm was a graduate of Hammonton High School. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church for more than 50 years, and was a member of the M.B. Taylor Masonic Lodge No. 141 in Hammonton. Mr. Grimm enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and bird watching. Many years ago he worked for Kimble Glass Company in Vineland. He retired from the United States Post Office as a rural carrier in Hammonton after 30 years.
Surviving him are: wife of more than 50 years, Jean (nee Folino); daughter, Gina Daniello (Scott O’Brien); son, Edward H. Grimm Jr. and his wife Maria; grandchildren, Kristen Daniello (Vincent Gallagher), Edward H. Grimm III; Gia-Marie Grimm; great-grandson, Vincent Edward Gallagher; sister, Trudy DelVecchio of Hammonton.

Andrew John Turner, 30, of Collings Lakes, died August 20, 2006, at home.
Born in Stratford, he was a lifelong resident of Collings Lakes.
Surviving him are: mother Virginia (nee Stackhouse) Turner; brother, Leroy Turner Jr. all of Collings Lakes; sisters, Ginny Turner of Williamstown, Robin Turner of Newtonville, Andrea Cooper of Folsom. His father Leroy T. Turner died on August 28.

Stella Farren (nee Leonard), 95, of Hammonton, died August 22, 2006, at home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. She was a co-owner of the Vogue Shop in the 1950s. She was a choir member at St. Joseph’s Church and then at St. Martin de Porres Church. Mrs. Farren enjoyed bingo and the casino.
Predeceased by: husband, Alexander Farren; parents, Anthony (Tony) and Angelina Leonard; sister, Marie Nasso; brother, Ernest Leonard and his wife Elsie Rose.
Surviving her are: son, Jack Farren and his wife Rita of Hammonton; daughter, Barbara Coia and her husband Joseph of Hammonton; brother, Charles Leonard and his wife Ima of Fort Lauderdale; grandchildren, Jack Farren and his wife Donna, Bethanne Macrie and her husband Paul III, Loralee Bermudez and her husband Ryan; great-grandchildren, Paul and Matthew Macrie, Desiree Farren, Rylee Bermudez; sisters-in-law, Jean Leonard, Elizabeth Ripple.

Born in Belcoville, she was an area resident all her life. She was a graduate of Egg Harbor City High School.

Angelina Lionetti, 77, of Hammonton, died August 21, 2006, at her residence.
Born in Bitrito, Bari, Italy, she was formerly of Flushing, N.Y. and lived in Hammonton the past eight years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, homemaker and a religious person. Mrs. Lionetti was a parishioner of St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church in Hammonton.
Predeceased by: husband, Frank. Surviving her are: daughter, Angelina L. Jacobs M.D. and her husband Barry M.D. of Burlington, Conn.; son, Anthony Lionetti M.D. of Hammonton; brother, Michele Natale of Hammonton; grandchildren, Carla, David, Dino, Dana, Sarah, Katie, Frances, Mark, Emily.

Leroy T. Turner, 66, of Collings Lakes, died August 28, 2006, at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees.
Born in Camden, he was a resident of Collings Lakes for 42 years. Before retiring, he worked as a master mechanic for Northern Contracting in South Philadelphia. Mr. Turner was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 166 in Williamstown.
Predeceased by: son, Andrew John Turner. Surviving him are: wife, Virginia Turner (nee Stackhouse); son, Leroy T. Turner Jr. of Collings Lakes; daughters, Ginny Turner of Williamstown, Robin Turner of Newtonville, Andrea Cooper of Folsom; 10 grandchildren.

Cosima Salvo (nee Mafodda), 86, of Hammonton, died August 26, 2006, at home.
Born in Rodia, Sicily, she lived in Hammonton for more than 45 years. Mrs. Salvo was a retired seamstress for Wm. B. Kessler Clothing Shop in Hammonton. She was a member of the Hammonton Senior Citizens, St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, and the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union.
Predeceased by: husband, Giovanni Salvo. Surviving her are: sons, Stephen Salvo of Hammonton, Anthony Salvo, M.D. and his wife Stacey of Vidalia, Ga.; granddaughters, Michaela Gianni Salvo, Celena Stephana Salvo, Olivia Antonina Salvo; sisters, Maria Mafodda of Patti, Sicily, Grazia Piraino of Rodia, Sicily.

William H. Crescenzo, 78, of Hammonton, died August 30, 2006, at Cooper Hospital in Camden,
Born in Hammonton, he was an area resident all his life. He was president and co-owner of William Crescenzo, Inc. of Hammonton which was established by his parents, the late William and Jennie Crescenzo in 1938. He was a graduate of Hammonton High School class of 1945. Mr. Crescenzo was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion F.A. Funston Post 186, and VFW Post No. 1026 of Hammonton. He was past secretary of Hammonton Rotary Club, former member of St. Joseph Holy Name Society, secretary and treasurer of NJ Fuel Merchants Association, past co-chairman of Airport Administration, and member of Hammonton Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving him are: wife, Marie (nee Parisi), sons, William H. and his wife Kathleen, Greg W.; daughter, Sandy Silipino and her late husband Sonny; brothers, Donald DDS and his wife Kathleen, Robert J. all of Hammonton; sister, Rita Mae Griggs and her late husband Joseph of Lakehurst; grandchildren, Peter F. and his wife Jennifer, Andrew Silipino.

John W. Butkowski, 76, of Hammonton, died August 28, 2006, at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Port Chester, N.Y, he was raised in Hammonton and graduated from Hammonton High School class of 1948 where he played football for all four years. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. He coached baseball for the Hammonton Little League, and served as a longtime Boy Scout leader. John was a loving and devoted husband and a wonderful father and grandfather to his family. He loved spending time in his greenhouse raising mums, working in his garden, and being surrounded by his loving family. For all those who knew him, know his sufferings are over, and he will forever be missed.
Surviving him are: beloved wife, Marie (nee Valente); daughter, Susanne Ezzi and her husband John; sons, John Jr. and his wife Ginny, Robert and his wife Missy, all of Hammonton; sisters, Dorothy Magano of Hammonton, Florence Laezzo of Bridgeport, Conn.; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas Ezzi, Robert, Ashley, John Butkowski III.

Eleanore A. (Ellie) Peronne (nee Ames), 71, of Hammonton, died August 28, 2006 at home.
Born in Bloomsburg, Pa., she was a longtime resident of the Hammonton area. She was formerly the manager at Howard Johnson’s in Hammonton. In her earlier years she worked as a model. She was formerly a member of the Hammonton Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer for the Bucket Brigade at the Hammonton Elementary School. She spent her 70th birthday parasailing. She lived life to the fullest and left no stone unturned.
Predeceased by: husband, Eugene P. Peronne. Surviving her are: daughter, Gina Bartolone-Peronne; brother, Darryl Martz and his wife Margie of Frederick, Md.; sister, Donna Shaffer and her husband Larry of Millville, Pa; many close friends and her cats that she loved like children.

Albert J. Sindoni, 84, of Hammonton, died August 31, 2006, at Heritage Assisted Living.
Born in Hammonton, he was an area resident all his life. He retired in 1989 as general manager of N.A.D.E. of Bordentown. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force and served during World War II. He was a member of East Lynn Golf Course of Vineland, and a retired member of the Board of Directors of Egg Harbor City Bank.
Surviving him are: wife, Marie (nee Picucci); son, Alan and his wife Deborah of Sewell; daughters, Lynne Spangler and her husband Kurt of Wayne, Pa., Susan Ramsden and her husband Dan of New York, N.Y.; grandchildren, Sydney and Hanna Ramsden, Alanna Sindoni, Derek Spangler; many nieces and nephews.

Frank (Sonny) Silipino Jr., 54, of Hammonton, died September 5, 2006, at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, he was an area resident all his life. He was a postal worker and worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office in Hammonton, He was a member of the National Association Letter Carriers and awarded postman of the year in 1997 and 2004. Sonny was a graduate of Hammonton High School class of 1970 and attended Atlantic Community College. He was an avid musician and played for various bands in the area with his lifelong friend Frank Repici.
Predeceased by: father, Frank. Surviving him are: wife Sandy (nee Crescenzo); sons, Peter F. and his wife Jennifer of Bordentown, Andrew W. of Hammonton; mother, Angelina Silipino (nee Fiorentino.)
