Helen Carey, 91, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, July 20 [1999], at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Lansford, Pa., she lived in this area for many years. Carey was a packer for Deer Park Cookie Co. in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: two sons, David Carey, of Sicklerville, NJ, and John Carey, of Hammonton; three daughters, Mariam Price, of Medford Lakes, Blanche Lacroix, of S. Winsor, Conn., and Helen Miller, of Hammonton; 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Saturday, July 24 at the Carnesale Funeral Home in Hammonton.
Burial followed at the Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Anthony Cappaccio
Anthony Capaccio, 87, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, July 28 [1999] at his residence.
Born in Hammonton, Capaccio was a lifelong resident. He was a mason retiring in 1977 and was a member of the Local Union #172 of Folsom. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Pudray Sportsmans Club in Nesco, and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Hammonton.
Surviving him are: his wife, Carmella Mildred (Notico); five daughters and their husbands, Mary Ann and Anthony Crescenzo, of Folsom, Rosalie and Donald Frederico, of Hammonton, Mildred and Robert Theurern, of Tabernacle, Kathleen and Raymond Stremple, of Waterford, and Toni Ann and Frank Blough, of Hammonton; nine grandchildren, Michele and Anthony J. Crescenzo Jr., Donald J. Frederico, William A. Reiber, Christina Gardiner, Michael B. And Stephanie Blough, and Robert and Monica Theurer; two great-grandchildren, Bianca and Garrett Frederico; also a sister-in-law, Mary Capaccio, of Hammonton; and a brother-in-law and his wife Mario and Phyllis DeCarolis, of Upper Darby, Pa.
Relatives and friends attended a Funeral Liturgy Mass on Saturday, July 31 at the St. Joseph Church in Hammonton.
Internment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Bonaventura (Nino) Provenzano
Bonaventura (Nino) Provenzano, 61, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, July 27 [1999] at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Amantea Cosenza, Italy, he moved to Hammonton in 1965. He was a retired tailor for Boscov’s Department Store at the Shore Mall in Cardiff. He formerly worked at W.B. Kessler Clothing Co. and Pierre Girard Clothing Store at Resorts Hotel and Casino. He was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America and the St. John the Baptist Society of St. Joseph Church.
Surviving him are: his wife, Ida (nee Porco); three children, Gilberto Provenzano, of Hammonton, Francesca Provenzano, of Hammonton, and Emma Grosso and her husband Jeff, of south Philadelphia; his mother, Teresa Provenzano, of Rome, Italy; his brother, Rinaldo Provenzano, of Ventnor; three sisters, Antoinetta Facoltoso, of Amantea, Italy, Emma Bruno, of Rome, Italy, and Anna Maria Agnello, of Rome, Italy.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 30 at St. Martin de Porres Church in Hammonton.
Entombment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Mary H. Vitale
Mary H. Vitale, 78, of Hammonton, died Thursday, August 5 [1999] at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Vitale moved to Hammonton in 1975. She was a retired clothing operator for Question Mark Clothing Company in Brooklyn. She was a member of the Hammonton Senior Citizens.
Surviving her are: two sons, Michael A. Vitale, of Apopka, Fla., and Anthony J. Vitale, of Hammonton; a daughter, Grace A. Bailey, of Suffolk, Va.; two brothers, Peter Guardino, of Saratoga, NY, and Charles Guardino, of Fla.; two sisters, Grace Cavallo, of Hammonton, and Rose Dulcimascolo, of Hammonton; and she was the loving grandmother of six.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 9, at St. Joseph Church in Hammonton.
Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pat Caputo
Pat Caputo, 89, of Blue Anchor, died Saturday, August 7 [1999] in Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Born in Blue Anchor, Caputo was a lifelong resident. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was also an operating engineer for Local 825 of Newark, NJ.
Surviving him are: his daughter, Barbara Ingemi, of Blue Anchor; two brothers, Michael Caputo, of Collingswood, and Anthony “Chick” Caputo, of Blue Anchor; four sisters, Grace Clements, of Blue Anchor, Julia Gardenia, of Hammonton, Betty Ingemi, of Hammonton, and Dorothy LaRosa, of Hammonton; and two grandchildren, Rachelle and Peter Ingemi, both of Blue Anchor.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 10 at St. Lucy’s RC Church in Blue Anchor.
Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin.

Carmelo Russo, 58, of Mays Landing, died Tuesday, August 3 [1999] at his residence.
Born in Messina, Italy, Russo formerly lived in Hammonton before moving to Mays Landing four years ago. He was the owner and operator of Shear Fashion Hair Styling in McKee City.
Surviving him are: one son, Carmelo A. Russo Jr., of Mays Landing; and one sister, Sally LaMazza, of Hammonton.

Internment followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.

Elsie Beatrice Ruiz
Elsie Beatrice Ruiz, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, August 11 [1999] in Puerto Rico.
Born in Hammonton, Ruiz was a 1985 graduate of Hammonton High School.
Surviving her are: her mother, Asia Ruiz Andujar and step-father Enrique Andujar, of Hammonton; her father and step-mother, Angelo and Ramorita Melendez, of Puerto Rico; two sons, Christopher Ruiz and Tavin Ruiz, and one daughter, Selena Paige Vazquez, all of Hammonton; three sisters, Marisol Andujar, Doris Melendez Hartman, and Nora Melendez, all of Hammonton; two brothers, Angelo Melendez Jr. and Ralph Melendez, both of Hammonton; a special friend Chow Godwin.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held today at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.

Pearl Matthews
Pearl Matthews (Williams), 76, of Hammonton, died August 11 [1999].
Born in Camden, Matthews was an area resident all her life. She attended Hammonton High School and was an athlete who participated in track, basketball, and was All-State in field hockey. She also sang and danced in clubs in the southern New Jersey area.
Surviving her are: two sons, Ernest Matthews, of Detroit, Mich., and Robert Edwards, of Maryland; one daughter, Ellen Matthews, of Atlantic City; one brother, Ellic Jackson, of Elwood; and four grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Tuesday, August 17, at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton.

George Craig
George Craig, 72, of Folsom, died Saturday, August 14 [1999] at the New Jersey Veterans’ Home in Vineland.
Born in Harrison, NJ, Craig was an area resident for the last few years. He was retired from Mac Arthur Fuel Oil in Cranford, NJ, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving him are: one daughter, Cheryl Craig, of Folsom; one brother, John T. Craig, of Monroe, New York; and four grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 17 at St. Joseph Church in Hammonton.
Interment followed at the convenience of the family.
