Lloyd T. Saunders
Lloyd T. Saunders, 73, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, January 4 [2000] at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Flemingsburg, KY, Saunders lived in Hammonton for many years. He was a trouble shooter for Atlantic Electric Co. in Hammonton and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the IBEW Union Local 210 and a past member of the Hammonton Masonic MB Taylor Lodge 141.
He was the husband of the late Velma A. Saunders.
Surviving him are: one son, Gene Saunders and his wife Bonnie, of Hammonton; one daughter, Shaaron Renart and her husband John, of Corbin City; his wife Nancy Saunders, of Kentucky; one brother, Leo Saunders, of Kentucky; three sisters, Elizabeth Browning, of Kentucky; Katherine Thomas, of Kentucky and Ruth Hall, of Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Derek Armato, Erin Saunders and Gene Saunders.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Friday, January 7 at the Carnesale Funeral Home in Hammonton. Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Rose Calletta
Rose Calletta, 91, of Edgewater Park, NJ, died Tuesday, January 4 [2000] at Burlington Woods Nursing Center.
Born in Italy, Calletta lived in Hammonton for many years before moving to Edgewater Park eight years ago. She was a former seamstress working in several clothing companies. She was a former member of the St. Joseph’s Altar Society.
Calletta was predeceased by her husband William.
Surviving her are: a daughter, Grace Cavallaro, of Edgewater Park, NJ; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 7, at St. Joseph Church in Hammonton.Burial followed at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.

Segundo Ortiz
Segundo Ortiz, 92, of Vineland, and formerly of Hammonton, died on Thursday, January 6 [2000] at Bishop McCarthy’s Residence in Vineland.
Ortiz was a farm laborer for various farms in Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 11 at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.

Alice L. DeStefano (Rodio)
Alice L. DeStefano (Rodio), 68, of Elmtowne, died Thursday, January 13 [2000] at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Rosedale, DeStefano was an area resident all her life. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School class of 1949 and worked in the snack bar of Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the I.L.G.W. of America and was a seamstress for local clothing manufacturers. She was a devoted follower of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
Surviving her are: her husband, P. Charles; two sons, P. Charles DeStefano Jr. and his wife Mary Anne, of Hammonton, and David DeStefano, of Hammonton; three brothers, Eugene Rodio, of Williamstown, Louis Rodio, of Hammonton, and Pat Rodio, of Hammonton; one sister, Margaret Giardino, of Hammonton; and three grandsons, Pat, Dante & Matthew DeStefano.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 17 at St. Joseph Church in Hammonton.Internment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Frances Reber (Fiorentino)
Frances Reber (Fiorentino), 81, of Hammonton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15 [2000] at the John F. Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford, NJ.
Born in Blue Anchor, Reber was a Hammonton resident for many years. A homemaker, Reber enjoyed sewing, cooking, and was a collecor of books. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke around. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 155 ,the Humane Society of Forked River, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Reber is predeceased by her husband, Paul W. Reber.
Surviving her are: her son, Paul W. Reber Jr., of Hammonton; one daughter, Janet Rodio, of Hammonton; three sisters, Angelina Silipino, of Hammonton, Mary Mauriello, of Cedar Brook, and Eleanor Vlasics, of Blue Anchor; two grandchildren, Cheryl Ann Reber, of Hammonton, and Helen Reber, of Long Island, NY; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Saturday, January 15.
Burial followed at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Folsom.

Carmela R. Mariano
Carmela R. Mariano, 41, wife of the late Fiode Michael, of Sweetwater, died Saturday, January 15 [2000] as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Born in Bronx, NY, Mariano was an area resident for 20 years. She was a computer programmer and was employed by Family Services of Burlington County.
Surviving her are: her parents, Pasquale and Gloria Ferrara, of Rotonda, W. Fla.; two brothers, Stepehen and his wife Deborah Moscatello, of Mahwah, NJ, and Anthony Ferrara, of Seacaucus, NJ; one sister, Marie and her husband Mark Coleman, of Westwood, NJ; three grandsons, Matthew, Michael and Thomas; two nieces Jenna & Jacqueline Moscatello.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Wednesday evening, January 19 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, January 20 at 8:30 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third Street in Hammonton.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Lucy’s Church on Route 73 in Blue Anchor.
Internment will follow at the convenience of the family.

Teckla Volpe
Teckla M. Volpe (Campanella), 82, of Hammonton, wife of the late Donald J. Volpe, MD, died Tuesday, January 11 [2000] at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Hammonton, Volpe was an area resident all her life.
Surviving her are: one son, Donald J. Volpe Jr., MD, of Hammonton; two daughters, Teckla A. Volpe, of Hammonton, and Cynthia Benedetto, of Hammonton; one sister, Emily Campanella, of Hammonton; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and John Benedetto, and Donald III and Clare Volpe, all of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 14 at St. Martin de Porres Church in Hammonton.
Entombment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Patrick F. Horan
Patrick F. Horan, 75, of Hammonton, died Friday, January 14 [2000] at his residence.
Born in Carbondale, Pa., Horan lived in the New England area before moving to Hammonton seven years ago. He was an air traffic control specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration for 33 years until his retirement in 1985. He also worked for the United Nations as a consultant for air traffic control in Iran in 1957-1958. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Surviving him are: his wife, Sarah (Rielly); two daughters, Colleen Horan, of Egg Harbor Township, and Patricia A. Horan, of Ocean City; one brother, John Horan, of Bowling Green, Ky.; two sisters, Eileen O’Hara, of Yardley, Pa., and Clare Condon, of Plymouth, Calif.; one granddaughter, Michaila; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 18 at St. Anthony Church in Hammonton.
Internment followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.
