Cecilia Conover (Thibault)
Cecelia Conover (Thibault), 88, of Tunersville, formerly of Nesco, died Monday, January 10 [2000] at the John F. Kennedy Hospital in Washington Twp.
Born in Nesco, Conover moved to Turnersville in 1978. She was a member of the New Columbia United Methodist Church of Nesco.
Conover was the wife of the late James Conover.
Surviving her are: a daughter, Barbara Costello, of Turnersville; one son, Harry J. Conover, of Westminster, Md.; two sisters, Anna MyRose, of Hammonton and Amelia Reid, of Millville; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on January 13 at the Landolfi Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Batsto-Pleasant Mills Cemetery in Pleasant Mills.
The family requests contributions be made in Conover’s memory to the New Columbia Methodist Church, 5213 Pleasant Mills Road, Sweetwater, NJ 08037.

Fiode Michael Mariano
Fiode Michael Mariano, 51, of Sweetwater, husband of the late Carmela, died Saturday, January 15 [2000] as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Born in Hammonton, Mariano was an area resident all his life. He was a builder and was employed by Superior Siding of Seaville, NJ.
Surviving him are: four sons, Fiode Michael Mariano, of Delaware, Thomas Mariano, of Lindenwold, Brian Mariano, of Erial, NJ, and Christopher and his wife Elizabeth, of Erial, NJ; three sisters, Carol and her husband John Sharamatew, of Blue Anchor, and Susan and her husband Ken Wisler, of Blue Anchor, and Sandra and her husband Richard Pooler, of Austin, Texas; and three grandsons, Matthew, Michael and Thomas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Wednesday evening, January 19 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, January 20 at 8:30 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third Street in Hammonton.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Lucy’s Church on Route 73 in Blue Anchor.
Internment will follow at the convenience of the family.

Frank J. Amedio
Frank J. Amedio, 77, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, January 18 [2000] at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Hammonton, Amedio was an area resident all his life. He was a retired presser and was employed by the National Garment Company and other clothing manufacturers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, serving in the 44th Infantry, and received battle stars for serving in Central Europe, Rhineland, and Northern France. He was a member of the VFW #1026 in Hammonton. He was a charter member and immediate past president of the Our Lady of Assumption Society after serving as its president for 51 years. He received an honor for service of 15 years to the Hammonton Little League, and was honored by the Hammonton Rotary Club in recognition of his outstanding “Service above self” in 1986. He served St. Joseph School over 50 years with dedicated service and received a plaque in 1995 “(Pop) Frank Amedio Sr. for many years of selfless dedication, time and concern for the student athletes of St. Joseph, for being a true friend of St. Joseph School Community.”
Surviving him are: his wife, Rose (Mazza); one son, Frank Amedio and his wife Lucille, of Hammonton; one daughter, Rosemarie Amedio, of Hammonton; three brothers, Anthony Amedio, of Hammonton, William Amedio, of Hammonton, and Henry Amedio, of Hammonton; two sisters, Mary Mancuso, of Hammonton, and Catherine Dixon, of Hammonton; one granddaughter, Colleen Esau, of Hammonton; and one great-granddaughter, Courtney Esau, of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 22 at St. Joseph’s Church in Hammonton.
Internment followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.

Charles H. Myers
Charles H. Myers, 81, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, January 18 [2000] at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Ohio, Myers was an area resident for 54 years. He was a salesman for Suburban Propane until his retirement in 1980, after 34 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a life member and past commander of the American Legion Post #186, with over 40 years of service. He was also past commander of the Atlantic County American Legion, and was Legionnaire of the Year for Atlantic County in 1960. He was a life member of the Mid-Atlantic Branch Second Indian Head, Division A. of the U.S. Army. He was past president of the Hammonton Little League with over 30 years of devoted service, past president of the Hammonton Booster Club, and Hammonton Blue Devils Man of the Week for outstanding and unselfish service.
Myers was the father of the late Carol Ann Myers. Surviving him are: his wife, Lillian (Ruberton); one son, Charles H. Myers Jr., of Forest Hill, Md.; one sister, Margaret Straker, of Ariz.; and three grandsons, Charles III, Matthew and David.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Friday, January 21 at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton. Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.

Grace Scoglio
Grace Scoglio (Parisi), 89, of Hammonton, wife of the late Joseph Scoglio, mother of the late Anne Lemons, and mother-in-law of the late William Lemons, died Saturday, January 22 [2000] at her residence.
Born in Hammonton, Scoglio was a lifelong resident.
Surviving her are: her son, Anthony Scoglio and his wife Agnes, of Fla.; one daughter, Marie Scoglio and Nuncie Ripa, of Hammonton; two sisters, Josephine Merlino, of Hammonton, and Mildred Cappuccio, of Hammonton; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Internment followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.

Amelia R. Heggan
Amelia R. Heggan (Rehmann), 94, wife of the late Reuben D., died Sunday, January 23 [2000] at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Hammonton, Heggan was an area resident all her life. She was a teacher and taught in Winslow Township and Mullica Township until her retirement in 1975. She was a graduate of Hammonton High School and a member of the first graduating class of Glassboro State Teachers College.
Surviving her are: two sons, Robert Heggan and his wife Christiane, of Medford, and Richard Heggan and his wife Donna, of Hammonton; one sister, Alberta Werner, of Egg Harbor City; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends today attended a viewing at 10 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Batsto-Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church at 5213 Pleasant Mills Road in Hammonton.
Interment followed at Bates Mill Cemetery in Bates Mill, NJ.

Anna J. Brigandi
Anna J. Brigandi, 82, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, January 18 [2000] at home.
Born in Hammonton, Brigandi was a lifelong resident. Brigandi was a machine operator for the Modern Clothing Co. in Hammonton. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, the Hammonton Senior Citizens, and of St. Joseph’s Altar Rosary Society. Brigandi was the wife of the late Nien V. Brigandi.
Surviving her are: one son, Anthony J. Brigandi and his wife Janet, of Hammonton; one daughter Mary Ann Van Noord, of Hammonton; two step-brothers, Charles Domenico, of Hammonton, and Joseph Domenico, of Hammonton; two grandchildren, John Brigandi and Christopher Van Noord; and one great-grandson, John Brigandi Jr.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 21 at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton.

Maria Cannata
Maria A. Cannata, 88, of Hammonton, died Thursday, January 27 [2000], at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, Cannata was an area lifelong resident. She was a sewing machine operator for W. B. Kessler Clothing Manufacturer for 50 years.
Surviving her are: her brother, Matthew Cannata, of Folsom; her sister, Sarah Perna, of Folsom; her nephew, Frank Perna; and a niece, Angela and her husband Steve Sabato, of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 31, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hammonton.
Internment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
