Stephen J. Lynch
FREDON - Stephen J. Lynch, 56, of Fredon, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at home.
Born in Jersey City, Mr. Lynch lived in Fredon and was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Rockaway for the past 36 years.
The son of the late Stephen and Vena McMahan Lynch, Mr. Lynch is survived by his wife, Judith A. Kaltnecker Lynch; his brother, Dennis Lynch and his wife, Linda, of Flanders; his sister, Veronica Martin and her husband, Jeffrey, of Rockaway; his mother-in-law, Ann Kaltnecker of Newton; his brother-in-law, Stanley Kaltnecker and his wife, Beverly, of East Hanover; his brother-in-law, William Kaltnecker and Meg Evans of West Paterson; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton. Interment will follow at Tranquility Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Dr. William Scarpa, 67 High St., Newton, NJ 07860.

Carolyn Sue Greist
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Carolyn Sue Geffken Greist, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at her home.
Born Sept. 25, 1932, in Newton, she was the daughter of the late Preston George Geffken and Edith Neill Geffken. Mrs. Greist was a member of Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church. She was retired from City Hospital and was a member of the Women of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Geffken.
Mrs. Greist is survived by her husband, William F. Greist Sr.; two sons, William F. Greist Jr. of Winchester, Va., and Richard R. Greist and wife, Dana, of Shepherdstown; three grandchildren, Brian and Ricky Greist, and Michael Brown; and two brothers, Fred Geffken of Newton and James Geffken of Branchville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.

Walter L. Coston Jr.
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Walter L. Coston Jr., 85, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006.
Born Sept. 7, 1921 in Orange, he was the son of the late Walter L. and Mary Theisen Coston Sr. He moved to Hilton Head in 1980 from Andover.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Unanimity Lodge 418, as well as The American Legion, The Heritage Library, the historical society, the genealogy society and Island Lutheran Church.
He was a graduate of Newton High School and Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. He played on the junior Davis Cup squad and was a line judge for the Family Circle Cup Tennis Tournament.
He was employed by Picatinny Arsenal in Dover for 32 years. He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946 in England, France and Belgium.
Mr. Coston was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Winroth Coston; and his sister, Anna Jean Lipka.
Surviving are his three nieces and their husbands, Judy and David Sheppard, Nancy Mitchell and Matt Wicklund, all of Hilton Head Island, and Laura and Phil Winter of West Chester, Pa.; eight grandnieces and nephews; and two great-nieces.
Services will be held Saturday at The Island Funeral Home and Crematory, 4 Cardinal Road, Hilton Head Island. Friends will be received from 2 to 3 p.m., and American Legion and Masonic tributes will be from 3 to 4 p.m., with a memorial service at 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095; or Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O. Box 24158, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925.

Jeanne C. Moody
SPARTA - Jeanne C. Moody of Lake Mohawk died on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton.
Mrs. Moody was born in Butler, Pa., and moved to Alexandria, Va. in 1942, where she later became Miss Washington, D.C., in 1946. In 1947, she was the second runnerup in the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City.
Mrs. Moody worked as a fashion model in the D.C. area before marrying and raising a large family. Before retiring in 1995, she worked as a creative display designer for several local businesses, including the Village Green Artworks and Frogmore Country Store.
Mrs. Moody and her husband were world travelers, having visited much of Western Europe, Great Britain and Japan, as well as owning a residence in Nantucket, Mass.
Mrs. Moody was presented to Her Royal Highness Diana, Princess of Wales, in Washington, D.C. in 1990 at an event honoring patrons of the Royal Ballet. Additionally, she attended two other dinners by royal invitation, one at the Princess's home at Kennsington Palace and another at Hampton Court.
Mrs. Moody is survived by her loving husband, William N. Moody; devoted children, Kathleen Simmons of Sparta, Kim Schober of Burlington, Vt., Patricia King-Davies of Marblehead, Mass., Susan Gambino of Andover, William M. Moody of Sparta and James F. Moody of Simsbury, Conn. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Marcy Burke, William R. Simmons, Ryan B. Simmons, Kaitlin Pianoski, Karli Pianoski, Grayson Schober, Alanna Schober, Janine Moody, Francis Moody, Brittany Jewell and Isabella Gambino; and great-grandchildren, Drew Burke, Aly Burke, Corinne Simmons and Catrina Simmons.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady Of The Lake Church, 294 Sparta Ave., Sparta. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in her memory to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860.

Raymond F. Norman
WANTAGE - Raymond F. Norman, 87, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Dover to Emmette and Helen Norman, he had resided in the Sussex-Wantage area for most of his life. Mr. Norman had been employed by Ideal Farms in Augusta for 20 years before his employment at McWilliams Forge Co. in Rockaway, from which he had retired 20 years ago.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Victor Norman, in 1987; and two brothers, Harold Norman in 1986 and Emery Norman in 1991.
Mr. Norman is survived by his wife of 51 years, Verna Silfee; three sons, Wesley, Stanley and Allen, all of Wantage; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m., from the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex Borough. Interment will be in Vaughan Cemetery, Sparta. Friends may pay their respects to the family today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Victoria Anne Tosti Becker
SANDYSTON - Victoria Anne Tosti Becker, 46, died Saturday at home.
Born in Newton, Mrs. Becker was raised in Hampton and moved to Sandyston 16 years ago. She was a 1977 graduate of Kittatinny Regional High School. She graduated from Centenary College in Hackettstown and received her bachelor of science in social work from Monmouth University in Ocean County.
Mrs. Becker was a social worker for the Sussex County Welfare Board in Newton for 22 years.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church in Hainesville.
Mrs. Becker is survived by her husband, Richard W. Becker; two children, Meagan Anne Becker and Derek Robert Becker, both at home; her parents, Robert L. and Saundra A. Fenner Tosti of Sandyston; one brother, Robin N. Tosti and his wife, Colleen, of Hampton; one niece and one nephew.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, Route 206, Hainesville.

Ida M. Bilas
LAKEWOOD, Pa. - Ida M. Bilas, 78, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She was born in Netcong on Nov. 28, 1927, the daughter of Ettore and Cecilia Mangacapra Benvenuto. She married Henry Paul Bilas on June 21, 1959 at St. Michael's Church in Netcong. Mrs. Bilas was a member of St. Juliana's Church, Rock Lake.
Mrs. Bilas was predeceased by her husband on June 5, 2003. She was also predeceased by two brothers, James and John, and a sister, Antoinette Zurcher.
She is survived by a son, Henry Paul Jr. of Byram; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Robert LaBell of Butler; two brothers, Lawrence Benvenuto of Hackettstown and Joseph Benvenuto of Netcong; two sisters, Sarah Starnadori of East Stroudsburg and Mary Johnson of Landing; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Tyson of Lakewood.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Juliana's Church, Rock Lake, on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Patrick Albert officiating. Interment at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Stanhope will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Bilas's memory to the Northern Wayne Ambulance Squad, Lakewood, Pa. 18439.

Dorothy Wybrants
ANDOVER - Dorothy Wybrants, 77, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at home.
Born in New York City, Mrs. Wybrants lived in Bergen County before moving to Andover 18 years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church in Sparta and the Sparta Women's Club.
Beloved wife of the late William Wybrants; loving mother of Bonnie Muller of Sparta and Vivian Doerig of Mahwah; cherished sister of Walter Smith of Oradell and Robert Smith of Las Vegas; devoted grandmother of Christina, Russell, Wade, and Yvonne. Also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A funeral will celebrate Mrs. Wybrants' life at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
