Mary R. Morsa
Mary R. Morsa (nee Letizo), 87, of Hammonton, died Saturday, June 17 [2000], at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, Morsa lived in Hammonton for the past 28 years. She retired in 1961 from aLouis Goldsmith Clothing Co. after 30 years as a seamstress. She loved the casinos and knitting, crocheting and cooking.
Surviving her are: two sons, Louis Morsa, of Hammonton, and John Morsa, of Hammonton; a daughter, Mary Radenz, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; she was the loving grandmother of 13; eight great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 20, at Sacred Heart Church in Cedarbrook. Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.

William Clark
William J. Clark, 93, of Piscataway, NJ, and formerly of Hammonton, died on Saturday, June 17 [2000], at the Harborside Woods Edge Nursing Home in Bridgewater, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, Clark lived in Hammonton before moving to Piscataway in 1962. Clark retired from the American Cyanamide Co. in Findern, NJ after 34 years as a chemist/colorist.
Clark was the husband of the late Mabel (Priestly) Clark.
Surviving him are: his daughter, Patricia Adams, of Piscataway; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Tuesday, June 20 at the Landolfi Funeral Home. Internment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
Arrangements were made by the Landolfi Funeral Home.
Sara J. Chillari
Sara J. Chillari (nee Calabrese), 73, of Hammonton, died Friday, June 16 [2000], at West Jersey Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Philadelphia, Chillari lived in Hammonton for the past 32 years. She retired in 1970 as an examiner for Modern Clothing Company in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: her husband, John P; two sons, John Chillari Jr., of Folsom, and Andrew Chillari, of Marlton; two brothers, Arthur Calabrese, of Bridgeton, and Michael Calabrese, of Bridgeton; and she was the loving grandmother of John, Anthony and Andy.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Monday, June 19, at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton.Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Margaret Canino
Margaret “Peggy” Canino (Horn), 79, of Lewes, Del., and formerly of Hammonton, died Tuesday, June 27 [2000], at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. Born in Phila, Pa., Canino lived in Hammonton most of her life. She was a retired telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co. in Pitman, NJ for many years.
Canino was the wife of the late Peter J. Canino.
Surviving her are: her daughter, Joy Cravener, of Bethany Beach, Del.; three sisters, Claire Murdock, of Clayton, NJ, Betty Bronson, of Vella Park, Ill., and Joan Fleck, of Texas; she was the loving grandmother of four; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 1, at St. Martin de Porres Church in Hammonton.
Entombment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Adeline DiGenova
Adeline DiGenova (Porreca), 98, of Atlantic City, died Friday, June 30 [2000], at her daughter’s residence in Absecon.
Born in Phila., DiGenova lived in Hammonton for many years and Atlantic City for the last 39.
DiGenova was the wife of the late Salvatore DiGenova.
Surviving her are: two daughters, Concetta and her husband Raymond Bailey, of Hammonton, and Mary E. and her husband Tom Custodio, of Absecon; she was the loving grandmother of Thomas Baily, MD, and his wife Dominique Bailey, MD, Suzanne Bailey Wheatall and her husband Michael and Thomas Custodio; and the was the great-grandmother of Joshua and Iain Bailey, and Benjamin, Aaron and Elizabeth Wheatall.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial today at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church at 2651 Atlantic Ave. in Atlantic City.
Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.

S. Arthur “Duke” Galletta
S. Arthur “Duke” Galletta, 85, of Hammonton, died Monday, July 10 [2000], at home.
Born in Hammonton, Galletta was a lifelong resident here. He also had a winter residence in Vero Beach, Fla. Galletta was the co-founder of Atlantic Blueberry Company, the world’s largest cultivated blueberry farm. He was past president and founding member of the North American Blueberry Council. Galletta was also a member of the Atlantic County Board of Agriculture, New Jersey State Farm Bureau, United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association, and the New Jersey Blueberry Grower’s Association. He also served on Governor Cahill’s open space commission. Galletta received numerous agricultural awards. The “Duke” blueberry variety was named after him, which is the most widely planted blueberry variety.
Surviving him are: his wife, Susan M. Galletta; two daughters and their husbands, Carol and William Santora, of Hammonton, and Linda and Edward Santora, of Hammonton; one son and his wife, Arthur J. and Anita Galletta, of Hammonton; one brother, William Galletta, of Hammonton; one sister, Esther Fay, of Vero Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Coia Jr., Rhonda Coia, Stacey Santora, Kristie Privitera, Brian Santora, Edward Santora, Joyce Galletta and John Galletta; and four great-grandchildren, Tara Coia, Nicholas Coia III, Matthew Parker Jr. and Stephen Privitera.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home at 202 S. Third St. in Hammonton.
Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 13, after 6 p.m., and Friday, July 14, after 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

William H. Cavileer
William M. Cavileer, 83, of Hammonton, died Friday, July 7 [2000], at the Medford Leas Retirement Community.
Born in Philadelphia, Cavileer lived in Port Republic and Egg Harbor City before moving to Hammonton in 1945. He worked for Egg Harbor Boat Co. from 1957 to 1980, and retired after 10 years as a security guard from Tri-County Security Company at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton. Her served in the Air Corps during WWII. He was a graduate of Egg Harbor High School and spent two years at Drexel D.I. Tech. He was a former member of the St. Joseph Holy Name Society, a member of the Crusillo and past president of the Parish Council.
Cavileer was predeceased by his wife, the late Eleanor Nora (Sokoloski).
Surviving him are: his sister-in-law, Florence Cavileer, of Fullerton, Calif.; a niece, Eva Rosa, of Cypres, Calif.; and a nephew, Raymond Cavileer, of Fullerton, Calif.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial today at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial is at the convenience of the family.

Louise Donato (Valentino), 88, of Hammonton, wife of the late Charles, died Tuesday, July 4 [2000], at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Hammonton, Donato was an area resident all her life.
Surviving her are: one son, Frank (Pepe) and his wife Josephine, of Hammonton; one daughter, Josephine Donato, of Hammonton; one sister, Jean Picuillo, of Atlantic City; and a grandson, Charles Donato.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 8, at St. Joseph’s Church in Hammonton.
Internment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Alexander (Al) DeStefano Sr.
Alexander (Al) DeStefano Sr., 63, of Hammonton, passed away on Saturday, July 22 [2000], at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Hammonton, DeStefano lived in Chatsworth as a child. He moved back to Hammonton and was a resident for the past 50 years. He was a retired truck driver for American B & D of Indian Mills, NJ for 25 years, retiring in 1996. He also worked as a machine presser for 17 years in south Phila. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Boot Hill Gunning Club. He served with the Hammonton Police Reserve in the 1960s and 70s. He was a former member of the Hammonton Moose Lodge.
DeStefano was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony DeStefano Sr. and Louis DeStefano Sr.
Surviving him are: his wife, Dorothy (Scaffidi); one son, Alex DeStefano Jr., of Hammonton; a daughter, Evelyn DeStefano, of Hammonton; two brothers, Ernest DeStefano, of Hammonton, and Charles DeStefano, of Elm. He was loved by everyone and will be sadly missed.
