Elizabeth Caruso
Elizabeth Caruso, 85, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, October 11 [2000], at her residence.
Born in W. Livingston, NJ, Caruso was raised in Egg Harbor. She lived in Hammonton most of her life and also in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of Italy and active in the local Bowling League of St. Petersburg.
Caruso was the wife of the late Leonard Caruso.
Surviving her are: two sons, Leonard Caruso Jr. and his wife Beverly, of Hammonton, and Richard Caruso, of Atlanta; four daughters, Helen LoSasso, of Ham-monton, Dorothy Silipino, of Hammonton, Rose Crescenzo and her husband Jim, of Hammonton, and Evelyn Pino, of Atlantic City; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her caregiver, Nina Bashkeevi; and her loving pet dog, Missy.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 14, at St. Martin de Porres Church in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Edgar M. Smith
Edgar M. Smith (Edd), 79, of Franklinville, died on Wednesday, October 11 [2000], after a lengthy illness following a stroke.
Smith was a “Hammontonian” at heart, spending most of his adult life living in and around Hammonton. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW Post 2071. He was retired as a carpenter but continued to work as the maintenance man for Medstaff Inc. until his illness. His favorite pastimes were crab-bing and fishing, although many would tell you that he was hard to beat when it came to horseshoes or pool.
Surviving him are: his wife, Viria (Lucas); a son, Ken Smith and his wife Elaine, of Franklinville; a brother, Robert Smith, of Dundee, NY; and he was the loving grandfather of Tricia and Ryan Smith.
Relatives and friends attended services on Monday, October 16, at the Marinella Funeral Home. Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery.

Rose R. Giacoppo
Rose R. Giacoppo (nee Ruggeri), 89, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, October 17 [2000], at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Hammonton, Giacoppo was a lifelong resident. She was a retired seamstress working for several clothing companies in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: her husband, John; her brother, Anthony Ruggeri, of Springhill, Fla.; and she was the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Saturday, October 21, at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton.

Regina McCluskey-Stahl
Regina McCluskey-Stahl, 52, of Hammonton, passed away on Saturday, October 14 [2000], at Cooper Medical Center in Camden after a lengthy illness.
McCluskey-Stahl resided in Lower Bank for 17 years and moved back to Hammonton, residing with her daughter Christy, and son-in-law, James Bet-tis and their two children. For eight years, McCluskey-Stahl was a supervi-sor in the keypunch computer operations department for Wm. B. Kessler Clothing Co. She loved horses and raised three. An excellent equestrian, Mc-Cluskey-Stahl won many ribbons at horse shows throughout Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May and Cumberland counties. She was a gradu-ate of Hammonton High School Class of 1968 and a graduate of the Pro-gramming Computer Systems Institute of Camden/Cherry Hill.
Surviving her are: a son, Christopher A. Stahl, of Hammonton; her mother, Rosemary Guerino-McCluskey, of Hammonton; her brother, Alex N. McCluskey, his wife, Lois, and their three children, Alexandria, Adrian and Dan-ny, of South River, NJ; her brother-in-law, Russell Stahl and his wife Aleta, and their daughter, Vanessa, of San Antonio, Texas; her godparents, Grace and Carmen Jacobs Sr., of Hammonton; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends from the Guerino-McCluskey and Stahl families.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, October 17, at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
The family requests donations to the Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, NJ.

John Low Jr.
John Low Jr., 65, of Hammonton, died Friday, October 13 [2000], at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Romania, Low was lived in Hammonton for more than 15 years, and worked as a custodian for the Hammonton School System.
Surviving him are: his mother, Maria Low, of Phila.; his brother, Martin Low, of Phila.; two sisters, Anna Marschall, of Germany, and Maria Kuepper, of Holland, Pa.; and his companion, Avon Thibault, of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Thursday, October 19, at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Gerald M. Martin
Gerald (Jerry) M. Martin, 87, of Waterford, died Monday, October 16 [2000], at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Waterford, Martin retired in 1978 as a building contractor under the name Jerry Martin Builder.
Surviving him are: his wife, Jennie R. (nee Iuliucci); two sons, Jerry Martin, of Waterford, and Dennis and his wife Dorothy, of Bridgeville, Del.; a daughter, Faith Criniti and her husband Joseph, of Waterford; two brothers, George Martin, of western Philadelphia, and John Martin, of Waterford; a sis-ter, Christina Miller, of Hammonton; and he was the loving grandfather of Patrick Martin and Jeremy Criniti.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Octber 20, at St. Anthony’s Church in Waterford.
Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton.

Mary G. Capaccio
Mary G. Capaccio, 91, of Hammonton, died Thursday, October 26 [2000], at home.
Born in Hammonton, Capaccio was a lifelong resident here. She worked as a machine operator at Kessler Clothing Company in Hammonton many years ago. She also worked as an attendant at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital for 15 years. She was a volunteer at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, and was a charter member of its Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1026 Auxiliary in Hammonton.
Capaccio was the wife of the late Ralph. A. Capaccio Sr.
Surviving her are: three daughters, Marie Visconti and her husband Dominick, of Landisville, Pauline Caruso, wife of the late Joseph Caruso, of Hammonton, and Rae Gross and her husband John, of Hammonton; one son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Rosemarie Capaccio, of Hammonton; three brothers, Frank Gazzara, of Hammonton, Charles Gazzara, of Hammonton, and Matthew Gazzara, of Hammonton; one devoted sister-in-law, Millie Capaccio, of Hammonton; two adopted daughters, Stella Canning, of Hammonton, and Janet Siligato, of Hammonton; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 30, at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Faith Ann Chiofalo
Faith Ann Chiofalo, 16 days old, of Hammonton, died Sunday, October 22 [2000], at Pennsylvania Hospital, in the loving arms of her parents, Patricia A. and Daniel E. Chiofalo.
Faith Ann was born October 6, in Pennsylvania Hospital, where she remained for 16 days, being loved and cared for by her parents and staff in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Faith Ann was the granddaughter of the late Dr. Anthony Chiofalo.
Surviving her are: her parents, Patricia A. and Daniel E. Chiofalo, of Hammonton; her brother, Anthony J. Chiofalo, of Hammonton; one sister, Amilee Chiofalo, of Hammonton; her maternal grandmother, Sandra Neil Santora, of Hammonton; her maternal grandfather, John R. Santora, of Hammonton; her paternal grandmother, Tina Chiofalo, of Hammonton; her maternal great-grandmother, Jennie Santora, of Hammonton; her aunt and uncle, Kelly S. and Joe Brown, of Hammonton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who love her.
Services were held privately at the convenience of the family.
