Karl A. Decker
Karl A. Decker, 61, of Collings Lakes, died Monday, October 23 [2000], at Wm. B. Kessler Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Delran, Decker lived in Collings Lakes area for the past 12 years. He retired in 1988 as a claims return man for the Ford Motor Co. in Pennsauken, where he worked for 36 years. He also worked for Wal-Mart in Turnersville for six years. He was a past Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 62 of Deptford, and was also involved with 123 Explorers of Turnersville. He played Santa Claus for various charities, volunteer groups and hospitals.
Surviving him are: his wife, Rosemarie (Maccarella); two sons, Karl W. Decker, of Mays Landing, and Ernest P. Juliano, of Milford, Del.; four daughters, Millicent Decker Watson, of Pitman, Paula Parker, of Hammonton, Patricia Keeler, of Hammonton, and Catherine Lopes, of Dover, Del.; three brothers, Frank Decker, of Landsdale, Pa., Richard Decker, of Binghamton, NY, and Paul Decker, of Williamstown; a sister, Joan Mason, of Floodwood, Minn.; and he was the loving grandfather of 12.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Friday, October 27, at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Elizabeth Rose Sacco
Elizabeth Rose Sacco, 92, of Hammonton, died Friday, November 10 [2000], at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, Sacco lived in this area for 43 years. She was a hand finisher for South Jersey Laundry Co. in Hammonton.
Sacco was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sacco.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 13, at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Hammonton.Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton.

William J. Lerner
William J. Lerner, 67, of Buena Vista Twp., died Tuesday, November 7 [2000], at the Wilmington VA Hospital in Delaware.
Born in Hammonton, Lerner was an area resident most of his life. He was a retired owner and operator of the Lace & Fabric Outlet in Elmer, NJ, for 11 years, retiring in 1993. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He attended Hammonton High School. He was a member of the Millville American Legion and a member of the Second United Methodist Church in Millville. He loved metal detecting and sports card collecting.
Surviving him are: his wife, Lois (nee Davis); a son, William J. Lerner Jr., of Atlantic City; two daughters, Sharon Thompson, of Egg Harbor City, and Kathleen Grace, of Fairfax, Maine; two stepdaughters, Joanne Clark, of Millville, and Evelyn Holt, of Williamstown; one brother, Edward Lerner, of Hammonton; three sisters, Ruth Morano, of Hammonton, Helen Ehrke, of Elmtowne, NJ, and Jean Andrew, of Coxsackie, NY; he was the loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Friday, November 11, at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton.
Burial followed at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery.

Joseph Mento
Joseph Mento, 79, of Marlton, died Wednesday, November 8 [2000], at West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees.
Born in Hammonton, Mento was a longtime southern New Jersey resident, and was also a resident of Florida. Before retiring, Mento worked as a manager at the E. J. Corvette’s Store in Camden. He was a musician, and he belonged to the Musician’s Union in Vineland and in Florida.
Surviving him are: his wife, Mary L. Mento; two sons, Ben Mento, of Marlton, and Steven Mento, of San Diego; two brothers, Vince Mento, of Hammonton, and Sam Mento, of Hammonton; three sisters, Marie Costa, of Hammonton, Josephine Domenico, of Hammonton, and Lillian Tassone, of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 11, at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Hammonton.
Burial was private at the convenience of the family.

John C. “DiGiacomo” James
John C. “DiGiacomo” James, 69, of Atco, formerly of Hammonton, died Wednesday, November 8 [2000], at West Jersey Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Hammonton, James lived in Atco for the past 35 years. He was a retired owner and operator of his own trucking company. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and received a Korean service medal with the 83rd Air Transport Squadron. He also served in the Merchant Marines for eight years. He was an avid HAM operator.
Surviving him are: two sisters, Dorothy LoSasso, of Hammonton, and Phyllis DiMeo, of Hammonton; and was the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial today at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial followed at Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.

Wanda C. Bober
Wanda C. (Vi) Bober, 78, of Hammonton, died Thursday, November 9 [2000], at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Born in Crucible, Pa., Bober lived in Hammonton for more than 20 years. She retired in 1986 as a keypunch operator for more than 30 years with the South Jersey Gas Company in Hammonton. She also worked as an RN in Baltimore. She loved to play golf.
Surviving her are: her son, Edward J. Bober and his wife Betty, of Hammonton; two brothers, Edward Bober, of Cleveland, and Ted Bober, of Ft. Lauderdale; a sister, Helen Jessick, of Vestaburg, Pa.; she was the loving grandmother of Edward Bober and his wife Tracey, Dawn Scola and her husband Gary, Natalie Caprio and her husband Chris; and she was the great-grandmother of Gary, Christopher, Dominique, Carly, Sierra, Eddie and Dalton. She will be missed by her loving pet “Roxy”.

Travis Danks
Travis Danks, 35, of Elwood, died peacefully on Wednesday evening, November 22 [2000], surrounded by his family and friends at home. During his brave and courageous battle with cancer, he remained a constant source of inspiration to everyone who knew him. He had an extraordinary enthusiasm for life that even this awful disease could not take away from him. He had an incredible work ethic and believed strongly in helping others. His greatest joy of life was his family. He has always treasured each and every moment spent with them. His devotion and love for them was the center of his life. He will be forever missed by his loving wife Victoria (Hackney) and his three daughters: Amanda, 10, Jaime, eight and Jessica, five.
Surviving him along with his wife and daughters are: his mother, Elissa, of Galloway Twp.; his brothers, Clint Danks, of Hammonton, Cliff Zamazanuk, of Rollo, Mo., Mike Danks, of Oxnard, Calif., and Lance Danks, of San Diego; his sisters, Wenona White, of Galloway Twp., Kim Linney, of Middleton, Del., and Renee Myers, of Folsom; and many extended family members who loved him dearly. Earlier this year, Danks was predeceased by his father, Glen Danks, and his stepmother, Angie Macrie.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 27, at St. Nicholas Church in Egg Harbor City. Entombment followed at Greenmount Cemetery.

Joseph J. Cataldi
Joseph J. Cataldi Sr., 72, of Hammonton, died on Sunday, November 26 [2000], at his residence.
Born in Philadelphia, Cataldi lived in Southampton, Pa. for 34 years before moving to Ham-monton 12 years ago. He was a superintendent for R. M. Shoemaker in Phila. for 23 years, retiring in 1987. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
Surviving him are: Marie (Feathersmith); three sons, Joseph J. Cataldi Jr., of Warminster, Pa., Vincent J. Cataldi, of Southampton, Pa., and Michael A. Cataldi, of Hammonton; two daughters, Denise Geche, of Pittsburgh, and Gabrielle L. Cataldi, of Hammonton; four brothers, James Catal-di, of Longport, NJ, Frank Cataldi, of Sicklerville, Robert Cataldi, of Phila, and John Cataldi, of Marlton; a sister, Agnes Grillo, of Phila.; he was the loving grandfather of five; and three great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial today at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Rt. 206. Burial followed at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, Pa.

Eleanor Tanzer
Eleanor Tanzer, 77, of Brandon, Fla., formerly of Hammonton, passed away on Monday, November 20 [2000], at the Community Nursing Home in Plant City, Fla.
Born in Paterson, NJ, Tanzer lived in Fla. for the past 26 years. She retired as a secretary for the Shulton Cosmetic Co. in Clifton, NJ. She also did window treatments for the Meyer Brothers Dept. Store in Paterson. She was a talented artist and crafts person, and won many trophies for sharp-shooting. She also lived in Hammonton and did office work for Sears and Roebuck Co. and the Ag-gressive Coat Co. of Hammonton. During WWII, Tanzer helped at the home front by being an airplane spotter in Hammonton.
Tanzer was predeceased by her mother, Emma Zeitler; her father, Stephen Tanzer; and a brother, Richard Tanzer.
Surviving her are: a sister, Josephine Giannini, of Hammonton; two brothers, Frank Zeitler, of Brandon, Fla., and Randolph Zeitler, of Hammonton; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Funeral Liturgy Mass on Tuesday, November 28, at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church. Burial followed at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.
