Ana D. Melendez
Ana D. Melendez, 74, of Mullica Twp., died Friday, October 19 [2001], at Kessler Memorial Hospital. Born in Puerto Rico she was a resident of the Mullica Twp. area since 1971.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Hammonton. Mrs. Melendez was previously named Hammonton Puerto Rican Civic Club Mother of the Year.
Surviving her are: two daughters and their husbands, Elba and Pete Perez, Angelina Montanez, Esquire and Santo all of Mullica Twp.; three sons and their wives, Carlos and Magda Melendez, Hector and Francis Melendez all of Puerto Rico, and the Honorable Teofilo and Sandra Montanez of Sicklerville.
One sister and brother in law, Nora and Juan Jimenez of Mullica Twp.; nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
A viewing was held Sunday, October 21 and Monday October 22, at Carnesale Funeral Home. A funeral was held at St. Joseph’s Church, followed by a Burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Joseph Lombardelli
Joseph Lombardelli, 79, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, October 24 [2001], at home.
He was born in Camden, raised in Minotola, and then moved to Hammonton fifty three years ago. In his earlier years he was associated with Curcio & Trionfo in the produce brokerage business. He was previously an officer manager for the Landisville Fruit Growers Cooperative Association. He also operated a small accounting practice from his home. Before his retirement Mr. Lombardelli was a sales representative for Agway Inc. in Elmer. He was a Director of the N.J. Peach Promotion Council President and Director of the N.J. Pesticide Assoc., Member of the N.J. Plant Food Education Society and a Committee Man of the Atlantic County Board of Agriculture. He also served on the finance committee of the National Peach Council for their national meeting in Atlantic City.
Mr. Lombardelli was awarded the Agricultural Man of the Year award by the Salem & Atlantic County Board of Agriculture, the N.J. Peach Promotion Council, and the N.J. Pesticide Assoc. Mr. Lombardelli was a Veteran of World War II, and served more than two years overseas.
Surviving him are: wife, Rose Lombardelli (nee Magazu); three sons and their wives, Joseph A. and Rita Lombardelli, of Hammonton, Stephen and Harriet Lombardelli of Berlin, John and Mary Ellen Lombardelli of Cape May Court House; and six grandchildren, Joey, Jason, Lisa, Steve, Nicky, and Laura. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, October 29, at St. Martin DePorres R.C. Church, followed by a burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton.
Arrangements were made by Carnesale Funeral Home in Hammonton. Donations may be made to St. Martin DePorres R.C. Church 129 Park Ave., or the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Rd.
Rita M. D'Agostino
Rita M. D’ Agostino, 62, of Hammonton, daughter of the late Frank and Ida Rodio, died Tuesday, October 23 [2001], at Kessler Hospital.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident . She was a retired Office Supervisor for The Prudential Ins. Co. in Millville.
She was the cousin of Mark Keener; niece of Gene Rodio, Louis Rodio, Pat and Angie Rodio and Margaret Giardino.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church in Hammonton on Saturday, October 27. A burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery followed.
Arrangements were made by Marinella Funeral of Hammonton.

Nicole Lyn Kehrli
Nicole Lyn Kehrli, was delivered stillborn on Monday, October 22 [2001], in John F. Kennedy Hospital, Stratford.
Surviving her are: parents, Stacey and Gregory Kehrli of Mullica Township, N.J.; one sister, Mary Rose Kehrli; her maternal grandparents, Susan and Andre Miller of Collings Lakes; her paternal grandparents, Marilyn and Donald Kehrli of Sweetwater.
Religious services were held Friday, October 26, at St. Nicholas RC Church, Egg Harbor, N.J., followed by a burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Carnesale Funeral Home, Hammonton.
Alexander Mazza
Alexander A. Mazza, 79, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died September 27 [2001], in Nevada.
Mazza was born in Hammonton and resided there until he moved to Las Vegas in 1986. He worked as a carpenter until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Marijo Mazza, of Las Vegas, two sons, M. David Mazza and Alexander Mazza Jr., both of San Diego, Ca., two daughters, Leeann Mazza of San Diego, and Wynne J. Samuels of Puyallup, Wash. Four brothers, Thomas Mazza, James Mazza, Vince Mazza and Michael Mazza, all of Hammonton, and a sister, Angie Domenico, of Hammonton and two grandchildren.
Services were held in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Michael Silipigni
Michael “Cheech” Silipigni, 66, of Northfield, died suddenly on September 29 [2001].
Silipigni was a long time resident of Northfield, who retired as a Lieutenant from the Northfield Police Department in 1985, after serving for 23 years. He was also a member of the PBA and served on the Northfield School Board and the Northfield Planning Board in addition to being a city councilman for 15 years. Mike enjoyed all sports and was especially fond of golf.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy, and was a loving father of: Michael Silipigni and Scott Silipigni and his wife Laura. He was the dear brother of Paul Silipino, Pat Esposito, Mary McIntosh and Sandy Filipino. He is also survived by his cousins, Millecent Sofia, Ralph Palmieri, Joseph Palmieri, Michael Palmieri; his mother-in-law Dorothy DiNoto; as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration and Viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Jefferies and Keates Funeral Home , Tilton Road and Infield Ave., Northfield. Also Thursday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Bernadette’s Church, Northfield. Interment will be at Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Northfield Police Department Helmets for Life Program, or the Northfield Rescue Squad, both at 1600 Shore Road, Northfield, NJ 08225.
Thelma Campanella
Thelma A. Campanella (Temple), 88, of Hammonton, died September 30 [2001] at Kessler Memorial Hospital. Born in Altoona, Pa. , she lived in Hammonton for the last 65 years. She was a Member of St. James Lutheran Church E.L.C.A. Ladies Aux, Lindenwold Moose Ladies Aux., former member of Atlantic County Board of Agriculture and the Children Seashore House.
Beloved wife of the late Anthony “Stutz”. Devoted mother of Rosalie DeSilvio and her husband Alex; Kathleen Campanella and Thelma (Fatty) Friia, all of Hammonton. Dear sister of Willis Temple of Pennsylvania. Loving grandmother of Rhonda Chamberlain and her husband Eric and Alex DeSilvio Jr. Great grandmother of Stefani and Eric.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Service of the Resurrection Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 1341 Mays Landing Road, Folsom. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Viewing Wednesday after 6:30 p.m. and Thursday after 8:30 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third St., Hammonton.

Bud Kowal
Bud (Kazmer) Kowal, 86, of Egg Harbor Twp., died September 27 [2001], at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point.
Born in Wilmington, Del., he lived in Barrington and Hammonton for many years before moving to Egg Harbor Twp. in 1981. He retired in 1981 from Naval Air Tech. Services Facilities in Philadelphia where he was an air and space engineer for 36 years. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII and received the Normandy Invasion French Medal landing on Omaha Beach given by the French Veterans for Appreciation of Service. He was past Grand Knight 4th degree Bishop Eustace Assembly from St. Francis de Sales Church in Barrington.
Beloved husband of Anna (Esposito). Kowal is survived by two brothers-in-law, Howard Esposito and his wife Jean, Ron Esposito and his wife Rose Ann; three sisters-in-law, Josephine Cashan, Martha Pohwat and her husband John, and Fay Esposito. Also many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass Monday at St. Joseph Church. Entombment was at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton. Family requests donations be made to charity of choice. Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.
Theresa DeMill
Theresa DeMill (Marone), 79, of Mays Landing, died September 28 [2001] at Kessler Memorial Hospital. Born in Pueblo, Co., she lived in Hammonton and Cardiff before moving to Mays Landing in 1986. She was the owner and operator of Fire Place Shanty in Mays Landing along with her late husband, Burritt, III (Burt) until 1998. She also worked for Frank Mazza Furniture and Kessler Clothing Co. in Hammonton.
Beloved sister of Dan Marone of Cedar Brook and Joseph Marone of Audubon, Amelia Abruscato of Vineland, Helen Sacco and Betty Marone, both of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass Tuesday at St. Joseph Church. Burial was at Zion Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township.

Anthony J. Capella
Anthony J. (Babe) Capella, 83, of Egg Harbor, N.J., husband of the late Mary Capella, died Sunday, November 18 [2001], at A.C. Medical Center in Pomona.
Born in Hammonton, he was a life long area resident. He retired as a Superintendent of Housing from R.M.C. Co. of Woodbury, N.J. in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII and was a member of the V.F.W. Passalaqua Post #1026 of Hammonton.
Surviving him are: son, William A. and his wife Veronica of Smithville, N.J.; daughter, Deborah M. of Ventnor, N.J. Loving Grandfather of Angela, Gianna and Jason.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 23, at St. Joseph Church followed by a burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Josephine M. Watson
Josephine M. Watson, 97, of Hammonton, died Saturday, November 17 [2001], at Kessler Hospital in Hammonton.
She was a life long resident of Hammonton. Relatives and friends describe her as devoted mother who helped manage two family businesses. She was a kind, sweet, independently active lady who placed a premium on the old fashion values of hard work, home cooking, church and family life. She remained physically active until her very last days.
Surviving her are: son, Mark Fancis, a Physician - Attorney who resides in South Central Texas.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church on Saturday, November 24, followed by a burial at Greenmount Cemetery.
