Anthony Renzi
Anthony “Camel” Renzi, 92, of Hammonton, died on Wednesday, May 8 [2002], at home.
Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Renzi was a salesman with American B-D of Shamong, and also with Hammonton Distributing Co. Mr. Renzi was also associated with Lewellen’s Florist in Hammonton. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Knights of Columbus in Hammonton.
Surviving him are: wife, Lillian (nee Machise); son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Jr. and Pauline Renzi, of Vineland; daughter, Arlene Renzi and her companion Charles Quinzi of Buena; daughter-in-law; Jerri Branca, of Hammonton and her children: Desiree, Anthony and Billy; two step-daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Joseph Maimone, Janet and Anthony Brigandi all of Hammonton and their children: Joseph A. Maimone Jr. and his fiancee Stacey Oswald, Lori and Joseph Abruzzese and Robert Townsel; three great-grandchildren: Addison, Mark and A.J., and his sister; Kitty DiPolito of Fla.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 13, at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

John Pagano
John (Jack) Pagano, 65, of Hammonton, died on Tuesday, May 7 [2002], at his home with his family by his side.
Born in Hammonton, N.J. he was a life long resident. He graduated from Hammonton High School Class of 1954. He retired from Whitehall Labs in Hammonton after 30 years of service. He also worked for the town of Hammonton as a Crossing Guard. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Pallotti Council #3471 of Hammonton 3rd degree and also Pallotti Assembly # 3471 4th degree. He was past president of the Hammonton Lions Club was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award and a member of the Men of Malvern. He served in the Army National Guard for seven years.
Surviving him are: wife, Theresa; son, John of Hammonton and fiancée Laura; daughter, LuAnne Albertson and her husband Michael of Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; grandchildren, Ryan and Christopher.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 10, at St. Joseph Church, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Marinella Funeral Home of Hammonton.

Jessie Slabinski
Jessie Slabinski, 89, of Hammonton and formerly of Plains, Pa., wife of the late Frank, died on Sunday, May 5 [2002], at Kessler Hospital in Hammonton. She is survived by her daughter Lorraine Cappuccio of Hammonton.
She was a retired Seamstress for several clothing companies. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church Altar Rosary Society, Home School Association and the Polish Women’s Alliance of America. She was also a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union of America.
She is predeceased by her daughter Geraldine Kozischeck.
Surviving her are: brother, Bernard Luckenbach of Plains, Pa.; grandchildren, Karen Kijak, Susanne and Kenneth Kozischeck; great grandchildren, Taylor and Sicharie.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on May 10 at St. Peter and Paul Church Plains, Pa. followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Harry R. Peles
Harry R. Peles, 76, of Hammonton and formerly of Indiana County area of Pennsylvania, died on Tuesday, April 16 [2002], at Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
The oldest of 11 children, he was a member of the American Legion. He served his country for two years during the Korean War, as a truck driver instructor in the Army. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Waynesburg College, Waynesburg, Pa., where he later worked as a professor. He worked for over 30 years as a chemical engineer at various firms in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and New Jersey.
Surviving him are: wife, Virginia; children, Virginia of West Deptford, N.J., Harry of Hammonton, Mary Gollub of Sicklerville and Marsha of Somerset; six brothers and sisters, John, Daniel and Gerald, all of Glen Cambell, Pa., Elizabeth “Betty” Tenerowitz of Northern Cambria, Pa., Lawrence of Comodore, Pa., D and Theresa “Terry” of Cherry Tree, Pa.
Burial is at the convenience of the family. A memorial Mass will be held on Sunday, April 28 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Jude’s Mission Parish in Southhampton, N.J.

Joseph J. Ammirato
Joseph J. Ammirato, 80, of Hammonton died Wednesday [April 17, 2002] at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills, N.J. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong area resident. Ammirato was an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II., where he was a pilot of B24 Bombers. Before retiring Mr. Ammirato worked as a school bus driver for Hammonton Board of Education and he also worked as a garage door installer for Perrone Door Company. He was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Surviving him are: wife, Jocelyne Ammirato (nee Fontaine) of San Diego; two sisters, Delores Baveria of Pa., and Addie Caruso of Hammonton and two grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Memorial Service at Carnesale Funeral Home on Sunday, April 22, followed by entombment at Greenmount Mausoleum.

Mary C. Pietrofitta
Mary C. Pietrofitta (nee Andronico), 88, wife of the late Tony, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, April 17 [2002], at Kessler Hospital.
Born in Elm, N.J. she was a life long area resident. She worked for National Garment in Hammonton as a seamstress. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union, a member of St. Joseph Church Altar Rosary Society and the Hammonton Senior Citizens.
Surviving her are: children, Sam and his wife Rose of Cherry Hill, N.J. and Anthony and his wife Sally of Egg Harbor Twp., N.J. Loving Grandmother of five and Great Grandmother of six.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 22 at St. Joseph Church followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Mary C. Bancheri
Mary C. Bancheri, 91, wife of the late Charles, of Ocean City, N.J., died on Wednesday, April 17 [2002], at her home.
She was a long time resident of Hammonton and Ocean City. The eldest of six children, she moved from Philadelphia to Hammonton in 1925, and was a member of the Hammonton High School class of 1929. Prior to her illness she was an active member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a Gray Lady in Atlantic City during WWII and served as the chairperson of the Hammonton Area Mental Health Association during the 1950s and 1960s. She was also active in the Women’s Auxiliary of Kessler Memorial Hospital, of which she was a past president.
Surviving her are: brother, Ralph Continisio of Elwood; sister, Jennie Continisio Schenk of Hammonton; daughters Charlotte Bancheri Milligan of Ocean City & Salt Lake City, Utah, and Christine Bancheri Krampf of Beef Island, British Virgin Islands, formerly of Philadelphia; son in law, Bernard T. Milligan and John E. Krampf; and seven grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Monday, April 22 at the Presbyterian Church of Hammonton followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Stella Kwiatkowski
Stella Kwiatkowski, 90, of Hammonton, wife of the late Charles F. Kwiatkowski, died on Tuesday April 9 [2002], at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
She was born in Philadelphia and resided there most of her life.
She is also predeceased by her daughter Henrietta Berenato.
Surviving her are: son-in-law, Joseph Berenato of Brentwood, TN; four loving grandchildren, Annette LaManna of Cape Coral, Fla., Joseph Berenato of Roanoke, VA, Charles Berenato of Bedford, VA, Regina Tell of Hammonton and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended private services at the family’s convenience.
Dan Junior Lewis
Dan Junior Lewis, 44, died May 30 [2002], at Cooper University Medical Center of Camden.
Born in Wrightsville, Ga., he attended the Mullica Twp., public schools and the Oakcrest High School. He worked with his father many years ago as a Lumberjack and he was lastly employed as a Construction Worker for Universal Concrete Co. of Folsom, N.J. He was affiliated with the Greater Love Chapel Church of God in Christ of Elwood, N.J.
His mother Bernice Lewis and a brother, Willie, both preceded him in death.
Surviving him are: wife, Levon E. Lewis of Mays Landing, N.J.; father, L.M. Lewis of Elwood; brothers and sisters, Wade Lewis, Maxine Brown and her husband, Minister Swenney Brown, and Newman Lewis, all of Philadelphia, Pa., Cynthia Wood and her husband, Mario, and Linwood Lewis of Sicklerville, N.J., Dessie Lewis of Woodlyn, N.J., Beverly Clybourn and her husband, Elder Dennis Clybourn of Hammonton, and Varey Lewis and his wife, Eugena of Elwood; four aunts, two uncles, 23 nieces, 28 nephews and a host of cousins, in-laws and many friends.

Margaret Z. Capoferri
Margaret Z. Capoferri, 75, of Elm, N.J., died on Sunday, June 2 [2002], at her residence.
Born in Hammonton, she was a life long resident. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hammonton Senior Citizens.
Surviving her are: husband, Taluccio “Tally;” two sons, Bruce and his wife Barbara of Atco and Brian and his wife Carmel of Elm; four sisters, Virginia Lynn of Bethlehem, Pa., Beatrice Hand of Berlin, Verna Lenig of Philadelphia, Eva Piraino of Hammonton; grandchildren, Brian and Carmen.
