Nathan Bertino
Nathan (Nate) J. Bertino, 70, of Camden, formerly of Hammonton, died on Saturday, January 8, 2000, at his residence.
Bertino lived in Camden for the past nine years. He was born in Hammonton and in his younger years worked on a blueberry farm for his father and mother, the late William and Frances Bertino. His father was known as the Blueberry King in Hammonton. Bertino was then a car salesman in Florida for many years.
Surviving him are: a daughter, Deborah Razo, of Camden; two sons, Billie Bertino, of Albion, and James Bertino, of Georgia; two sisters, Nancy DelRossi, of Hammonton, and Carol LaMonica, of Lakewood, Colorado; a brother, William Bertino Jr., of Hammonton; ten grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
The private funeral was arranged by the Landolfi Funeral Home.
Ella B. Horter (nee Olsen), 90, formerly of Collings Lakes and Haverford, Pa., died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at the Health Center at Galloway.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Club, Daughters of America and the Rob Morris Chapter 219 Order of the Eastern Star in Delaware County. Mrs. Horter served as President of the Women’s Club at the Health Center. She was an active resident who was involved in the many daily activities at the Health Center. Mrs. Horter was a reporter, did the daily announcements twice a day, and delivered the mail.
Surviving her are: daughters, Eileen Jahn of Collingswood, Emeline Baladassarre of Secane, Pa.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Monday, January 10 at the Carnesale Funeral Home followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Henry F. Petters Sr., 93, of Blue Anchor died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Mars, Pa., he was an area resident 87 years. He retired in 1973 as an auto mechanic for Arena Oldsmobile. He was a third degree charter member Knights of Columbus Nativity Council #2976, a member of Hammonton AARP, the Winslow Township and Atco Senior Citizens, and a member of Winslow Township Historical Society.
Surviving him are: wife, Selma (nee Bernhouse); sons, John and his wife Carol of Mays Landing, Robert and his wife Kathleen of West Berlin, Leroy and his wife Enid of Mullica Hill; the late Henry Jr. and his wife Joann; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 8 at St. Lucy Church followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Katherine Fichetola, 73, of Clermont, Fla., died Thursday, December 30, 2004.
She was born and raised in Hammonton before moving to Egg Harbor where she wed Angelo Fichetola. Together they owned and operated Kitty’s Farm Market. For the last ten years she lived in Florida with her daughter Kathy.
Surviving her are: daughter, Kathy Boughton and her husband Kevin of Florida; sons, Ronald Fichetola and his wife Linda, Angelo Michael Fichetola and his wife Angela all of Folsom; grandchildren, Kevin Jr. and Tiffany Boughton, Rocco and Nicole Fichetola, Brandon and Joseph Fichetola, Suzanne Knorr, Ronald McDowell; mother, Katherine Mazza; brother, Angelo Mazza and his wife Dolores.

Carmella Weygand, 83, of Hammonton died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Waterford, she was a resident of Hammonton the past 50 years. Mrs. Weygand was employed at the National Garment Company of Hammonton as a clothing examiner and retired in 1982. She was a member of the International Clothing Workers Union.
Predeceased by: husband, William (Pete) Weygand in 1998.

Rita R. Sadley (nee Ryan), 90, of Hammonton died Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Hammonton.
Born in Haverhill, Mass., she retired in 1978 from the State of New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles after 24 years. She was a member of the St. John’s Altar Rosary Society, the Sweet Adelines, and loved to play bingo.
Predeceased by: husband, Joseph. Surviving her are: son, Winthrop M. Cummings Jr.; daughter, Cathy Cracker and her husband Richard of Hammonton; brother, Robert Ryan of Haverhill, Mass.; grandchildren, Lisa Myler, Stephen Cracker, Kendall Clark, Kristin, Erin, Kelly Cummings; great-grandchildren, Mason, Logan Myler, Alex Giorgianni.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 4 at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Yardville, Pa. followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery in Allentown.

Bernice Sullivan, 70, of Hammonton died Sunday, January 2, 2005.
Born in Newark, she was an area resident for two years.
Surviving her are: daughter, Linda Korski of California; sister, Charlotte Stumfels of Gloucester City.

Robert S. Caucci, 60, of Mays Landing died Monday, January 3, 2005 at home with his family by his side.
Born in Hammonton, he lived in Mays Landing for 51 years. He was owner of Tom’s Garden and Christmas World in Mays Landing where he joyfully worked his entire life alongside his parents, siblings, wife, and children. Everyone who knew Bobby felt blessed just for having known him. He was a simple man with simple joys. He loved animals, plants, sun on his face and the sound of the sea. He exemplified what unconditional love is. He always put others before himself and always saw the best in people. He was small in stature, but had a heart as large as life itself. He was truly the best son, brother, friend, husband and father.
Predeceased by: parents, Tom and Helen Caucci. Surviving him are: wife, Diane Caucci (nee Ashton); son, Robert A.; daughter, Gabrielle, both at home; brothers, Thomas Jr. of Laureldale, Herman and his wife Sandy of Linwood, Charles and his wife Rosemary of Mays Landing; sisters, Rita A. Codario and her husband Ralph of Egg Harbor Twp., Rosemary Fenwick and her husband Gary of Absecon; mother-in-law, Barbara Ashton of Blackwood; sister-in-law, Linda Palma and her husband Rick of Blackwood; many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Annie R. Bennett, 58, of Hammonton died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at home.
Born in Scottsville, N.C., she was a Hammonton resident for 44 years. Mrs. Bennett worked as a home health aide for Bally’s Park Place Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City and for Shore Care in Somers Point.
Surviving her are: daughters, Glenda Adams of Atlantic City, Kimberly Bennett of Magnolia; sons, Anthony G. Bennett and his wife Andzelika Morkute of Seattle, Shady W. Bennett and his wife Carolyn of Edenton, N.C., Shawn Bennett, James Bennett both of Hammonton; father, Calvin Ingram; mother, Ruth Bennett both of Maxton, N.C.; brothers, James, Grady; sisters, Clara, Linda, Susie, Dell; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Rita R. Gazzara (nee Capaldi), 80, of Hammonton died Saturday, January 15, 2005, surrounded by her family at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Gazzara dedicated her life to her family and nothing gave her more joy than spending time with them and doing things for and with them. She will be sadly missed and loved by each of them. Before her retirement, Mrs. Gazzara was a seamstress for Crown Pants in Hammonton. She also worked as a cashier for the Sands Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
Predeceased by: sister, Mildred Forcina. Surviving her are: daughters, Linda Childs and her husband Bill of Laurel Springs, JoAnn Domenico and her husband John, Charlene Continisio and her husband Joe all of Hammonton; son, Chuck Gazzara and his wife Marcia of Hammonton; sisters, Alice Grasso of Elm, Isadore Capaldi of Ocean City; grandchildren, Bill Childs IV, Crystal Domenico, Cara Restuccio, Joseph Continisio III, Chucky Gazzara, Anthony Gazzara; great-grandchildren Brandon Childs, Cameron Childs.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing today at 8:30 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery.

Louis Monzo Jr., 49, of Hammonton died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
A lifelong resident, Lou was a truck driver for various companies throughout the area and was last employed with Coia Brothers in Hammonton.
Predeceased by: father, Louis Monzo Sr. Surviving him are: mother, Josephine Monzo (nee Vaccarella); sons, Louis Monzo III of Ventnor Heights, Tony Monzo of Ventnor Heights, Rocco Monzo of Berlin; sister, Bonnie Sue Monzo of Atlantic City; brother, Joseph Monzo of Hammonton, Anthony Monzo and his wife Denise of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass on Friday, January 21 at St. Martin de Porres Church. Interment will be private.
