Ralph E. Loomis
Ralph E. Loomis, 76, died Thursday, April 10, at Baptist Memorial Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born in Denver, he lived in Hammonton for 33 years. He joined the US Navy during World War II and was recalled by the US Air Force in 1950 for the Korean War. A graduate from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., in 1955, he was a banker for many years and formed Loomis Realty in 1988.
Surviving him are: wife, Caroline; sons, Drew with wife Annette, Mark with wife Ginny, Craig; daughter, Donna Gier with husband Michael; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Genevieve Angus; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, May 24, at 11:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Hammonton.
Donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Hammonton, 326 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Barbara Ann Sacco
Barbara Ann Sacco (nee Buczynski), 61, of Winslow Twp, died Tuesday, April 29, at Cooper Hospital.
Born in Millville, she was an area resident for the last 40 years. A graduate of Millville High School Class of 1960, she was a former executive secretary at First Federal Savings of Hammonton. She was currently employed as a senior clerk transcriptionist at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and was deeply devoted to her family. Surviving her are: husband, Charles L; sons, Charles N. with wife Sheila of W. Deptford, Brian C. with wife Athena of Egg Harbor Twp, Craig L. with wife Deanette of Hammonton; mother, Ruth Emerson; sister, Carol MacLuskie, both of Millville; grandmother of Kayleigh, Andrew, Samantha, Kyle, Nicholas, Sabrina, Darren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 2, at St. Joseph Church followed by Interment at Greenmount Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

Walter Louis Priest
Walter Louis Priest Sr., 91, of Greenbank, died Thursday, May 15, at his residence.
Born in Philadelphia, he worked on the family farm in Auburn, Salem Co., and moved to Greenbank in 1946. He built the Greenbank General Store in 1966 and operated it until 1975. He was the past President of the Greenbank Fire Company from 1963-1965, served on the Greenbank Washington Twp. School Board, and was a member of the Bryant Gun Club. Mr. Priest loved to hunt, fish, and trap. He was known for his famous homemade pasta and homefries.
Predeceased by his wife, Virginia (nee Vessella). Surviving him are: sons, Walt with wife Catherine of Mullica Twp, Raymond with wife Sharon of Knoxville; daughters, Anna Stevenson of Mullica Twp, Louise Imperatore with husband Mickey of Mullica Twp, Jeanie Golini with husband Joseph of Elwood, Dottie Adams of Mays Landing, Julie Carabin with husband Joe of Elm, Joyce Marshall with husband Tom of Greenbank; brother, Anthony of Newfield; 27 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian burial on Monday, May 19, at St. Joseph Church followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Greenbank Vol. Ambulance Company, 2424 Rt. 563, Greenbank, NJ 08215, the Greenbank Volunteer Fire Company, 2426 Rt. 563, Greenbank, NJ 08215, or the Atlantic City Medical Center Hospice, PO Box 1626, Pleasantville, NJ 08232.

Roberta Churchill
Roberta Churchill, 73, of Blackwood and formerly of Hammonton, died Tuesday, May 20, at Cooper Hospital in Camden,
Born in Hammonton, she was an area resident, and a 1947 graduate of Hammonton High School. She was formerly employed by Ideal Clothing in Hammonton and Kemper Insurance in Summitt.
Surviving her are: sisters: Virginia Macri of Hammonton, Jean Bruno of Piscataway.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, May 24, at Greenmount Cemetery.

Sophie M. Valenti
Sophie M. Valenti, 84, of Hammonton died Tuesday, May 20 at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a Hammonton resident for the past 57 years. Before retiring Mrs. Valenti was the Supervisor of Food Service at Hammonton Elementary School. She was a member of the Hammonton Senior Citizens, St. Martin DePorres RC Church, and a longtime volunteer at William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Predeceased by: husband, Louis J. Valenti; son, John V. Valenti; sister, Clara Paglia. Surviving her are: son, Louis J. Valenti with wife Carol; grandsons, Bryan and Derek Valenti all of Hammonton; sister, Jennie Paglia of Bellmawr.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 23, at St. Martin DePorres RC Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Juan Jimenz Rios
Juan Jimenez Rios, 79, of Mullica Twp., died May 19, at Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in San Sebastian, PR, he lived in this area since 1972. He retired in 1988 from the NY District Council of Carpenters where he worked for 28 years. Prior to working as a carpenter, he worked for the Ohio Steel Co.
Surviving him are: wife, Nora Jimenez; children, Lisa Ann Martinez with husband Carlos of Mullica, Millie Cruz, Enis Madonado both of Ohio, Luz Maria Gonzales of Florida, Rose Borice of Penn; brother, Feliz Jimenez of Fla; sister, Carmen Maria Jimenez of NY; 12 grandchildren including granddaughters Adriana Martinez and Gabriela Martinez with whom he shared a special bond.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, May 23, at St. Joseph’s RC Church followed by burial in Greenmount Cemetery.

John A. Celona
John A. Celona Sr., 83, of Hammonton, died May 20, at Kessler Hospital.
Born in Hammonton, he was a life long resident. He started Johnny’s Gulf Station in 1947 and opened Bellevue Tire Distributor in 1961 until 2003. He served in the US Air Force during World War II, and enjoyed deer hunting with his friends and also gardening.
Surviving him are: wife, Beatrice (nee Bailey); sons, John Jr. with wife Gerri of Hammonton, Jeff of Mays Landing; brothers, Domenic, Anthony; sisters, Rosa Mazza, Grace Mazzagatti, Anna Berenato all of Hammonton; grandchildren, Jay, Michael, Justin, Josh.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 24, at St. Joseph’s RC Church followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Rita J. Salvatore, 90, of Hammonton, died Friday, May 23, 2003 at Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Hammonton most of her life. She worked for Bel Sportswear and was a member of the I.L.G.A.
Predeceased by husband, Alfred. Surviving her are: sons, Alfred with wife Lucille of Hammonton, Joseph with wife June of Clayton; daughters, Rita Cupani with husband Anthony of Northfield, Elizabeth Bowers with husband Robert of Elmtowne; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Vettese, Rosetta Caponigro both of Hammonton; cousins, Ruth DiMeo of Hammonton, Rose Saladino of Rahway; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, May 27, at St. Joseph’s RC Church followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Evelyn M. Berenato
Evelyn M. Berenato (nee Ford), 82, of Hammonton, died Sunday, June 1, at William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Egg Harbor City, she was a resident of Hammonton for more than 70 years.
She is predeceased by daughter, Virginia Frassetto. Surviving her are: husband of 58 years, Joseph E. Berenato; son, Anthony J. Berenato of Hammonton; grandchildren, Debra and Joseph Samuelson, Anna Berenato with finance Michael Warburton, Jamie Frassetto, all of Hammonton, Joseph and Stephanie Berenato of Lindenwold; great-grandchildren, Justin Berenato and Leah Cirillo of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, June 5, from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s RC Church. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.

Sally W. Rodi
Sally W. Rodi (nee Williams), 91, of Hammonton died Thursday, May 29, at Bishop McCarthy Residence in Vineland.
Mrs. Rodi was raised in Fredricksburg, Md., but lived in Cherry Hill for over 30 years before moving to Hammonton in 1982. She spent most of her working years with RCA in Camden.
She is predeceased by her husband, Anthony T. Rodi. Surviving her are: stepsons, Dr. Alexander Rodi with wife Alice of Hammonton, Dominic Rodi with wife Kathleen of Ventnor; sisters, Blanche Chard of Woodbury, Louise Ferrins of Salisbury, Md., Kathryn Marner of Laurel, Del; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and viewing will be private at the convenience of the family with burial at Bethel Memorial Park.

Evelyn L. Buzby
Evelyn L. Buzby (nee Crupi), 74, of Hammonton died June 1 at the Heritage Assisted Living.
Born in Reading, Pa., and formerly of Wyomissing, Pa., she lived in Hammonton for the past two years. She was an active member of the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and a Duplicate Bridge enthusiast.
She is predeceased by Robert Weidner in 1963 and Robert Buzby in 2000. Surviving her are: sons, Roy Weidner with wife Elizabeth, Scott Weidner; daughter, LeeAnne Hogan with husband John; stepson, Barry Buzby with wife Kathy; stepdaughter, Sheri Wolfrum with husband Bob; brothers, Leon Crupi and Donald Crupi; sister, Terry Crupi; grandchildren, Laura, Sean, Billy Hogan, Lucas Weidner, Lt. Andrew Wolfrum, Britta Wolfrum, Keith, Jenny Buzby.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation followed by a memorial service this evening from 7 – 9 p.m. at The Heritage Assisted Living, 45 Rt. 206, Hammonton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Caring Hospice, 133 G. Gaithers Dr., Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054.

Alverna Ann Fenton
Alverna Ann (nee Erhart) “Snooky” Fenton, 63, of Wichita, Kan., died Wednesday, May 14, at her residence.
Born in Woodbury, she was a resident of Wichita for the past 16 years. She attended Hammonton High School.
Surviving her are: husband, Richard; sons, Thomas, William, Franklin, Mark Dixon, all of Hammonton; daughters, Jacqueline Lucas of Franklinville, Joann Kock of Wichita; step daughters, Brenda Loghy of Deptford, Kimberly Baitenger of Wenonah, Cheryl Petsch of Williamstown; brothers, William Erhart and Charles Erhart of Vineland, Joseph Erhart of Franklinville; sisters, Janice Levenknight of Millville, Anna Macera of Florida, Eleanor Yardim of Trenton, Jacqueline Lindeman; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on May 27, at Oak Grove Cemetery.
