Frank A. Speziali Sr.
Frank A. Speziali Sr., 80, of Waterford, died Sunday, February 8, 2004 at J.F. Kennedy Hospital, Washington Twp.
Born in Landisville, he was an area resident all his life. He was a 1942 graduate of Vineland High School. He spent his early years as a coppersmith for New York Shipbuilding Corp., Camden and was a 50 year member of the Carpenters Union Local 393, Gloucester. He retired in 1984. He was a member of the San Sostine Society and Holy Name Society of Waterford.
Predeceased by: wife, Centella (Cindy, nee Bombara). Surviving him are: sons, Frank A. Jr. and his wife Catherine of Glassboro, Nicholas and his wife Carol of Waterford; grandchildren, Frank A. III, Christopher Speziali, Joseph, Michael, Patrick Davis, Doug Adreini; seven great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Speziali Sr. of Minotola; sisters, Feena Zeich, Nancy Raciti and her husband Louis all of Landisville, Rita Ernst and her husband William of Franklin Township; brothers-in-law John Bombara and his wife Marie of Winslow, Salvatore Bombara and his wife Joyce of Waterford; sister-in-law Josephine Hollingshead of Waterford; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on February 12 at St. Anthony Church, Pennington Avenue, Waterford. Interment followed at Berlin Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Health Care Center at Washington, 535 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.

Francisco G. Marquez
Francisco G. Marquez, 53, of Hammonton, died February 12 at Kessler Hospital.
Born in Comero, P.R., he lived in this area for many years. Mr. Marquez formerly worked at Eastern Brewery. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and a member of their Spanish Apostolate.
Surviving him are: children, Erica Marquez, Frances Marquez; brothers, Roman, Eric, San John Marquez; granddaughter, Stephanie Troche.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 16, at St. Joseph R.C. Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Alice P. Johnson
Alice P. Johnson, 87, of Buena Vista Twp., died February 9, 2004 at Kessler Hospital.
Born in Hillsboro, N.C., she lived in this area for many years. Mrs. Johnson worked as a receptionist and nutritional aide at the Martin L. King Senior Center in Buena Vista. She was a faithful member of First Union Baptist Church in Newtonville.
Surviving her are: grandchildren, Brenda Harris, Trudy Pettiford-Hill, Nola Hollis, Clenetta Pettiford, Steffoncio Pettiford, Sharon Pettiford, Ottis Pettiford Jr., Jacquelyn Hutchins, Cheryl Patterson, John Solomon Pettiford, Antonio Pettiford; Darryl Johnson; 37 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services Sunday, February 15, at the Carnesale Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Jennie P. Salvo
Jennie Salvo (nee Arena), 97, passed away December 25, 2003.
Born in Hammonton in 1906, Jennie was the oldest of seven children. Familiar to other Italians at that time was a need for children to help support the family so in spite of receiving the outstanding math student in eighth grade, Jennie went to work full time at age 14. This “giving to others” characteristic described her actions and behavior for the next 80 years. She altered her own abilities and needs so that many others could have a better life.
Predeceased by: parents, Battista and Anna Arena; husband, Stephano; brothers, John, Tom; sister, Jeannette. Surviving her are: sisters, Marie Byrnes of Cranberry, Angelina Dissicini of Elmtowne.
A private viewing at Carnesale Funeral Home and Mass at St. Joseph’s Church was available only to close family members and dear friends. We are grateful and fortunate to have had her as our mother and mentor for so many years. She can never be replaced and will always be remembered.

Cheryl Lynn Perone
Cheryl Lynn Perone, 52, of Hammonton died Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Born in Newark, she was a resident of Hammonton since 1977. Mrs. Perone was a graduate of Mary Lawn of the Oranges Catholic Girl’s High School and Stockton State College. She was a member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Hammonton. Mrs. Perone was employed as an Executive Administrator for the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services – Southern Regional Office in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: husband, Nicholas J. Perone Jr.; son, Nicholas J. Perone III of Hammonton; daughter, Kristin Perone of Hammonton; father and mother, John T. and Dorothy Perrone of Brick; brother, John T. Perrone Jr. and his wife Laura of Wall.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 23 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by entombment at Greenmount Cemetery.

Cosimo Gus Giacoppo
Cosimo Gus Giacoppo, 92, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at Newcomb Hospital in Vineland.
Born in Hammonton, he was a lifelong resident. He was a retired maintenance man for the Atlantic City Race Track.
Predeceased by: wife, Angelina (nee Ruggeri). Surviving him are: son, Anthony Giacoppo; grandson, Anthony Giacoppo both of Hammonton; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 21 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Charles P. Ranere Sr.
Charles P. Ranere Sr., 94, died February 20, 2004 at Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Ranere was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. He was the co-owner of P.T. Ranere, Inc. from 1927 until 1987.
Predeceased by wife: Angela (nee Ruberton). Surviving him are: son, Charles P. Ranere Jr. of Hammonton; daughter, Mary Patricia Currier and her husband Michael of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; brothers, Dominic E. Ranere of Hammonton, Peter T. Ranere Jr. and his wife Rita of Hammonton; sisters, Marie Kern of Hammonton, Louise Phillis of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Michele Carey and her husband Michael, Maureen Wood and her husband Michael, Megan Kaiser and her husband Edward, Marla McDonald all of Michigan.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 24 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Mr. Ranere’s memory be sent to St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 226 French St., Hammonton, NJ 08037 or to William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital, 600 S. White Horse Pike, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Angelina-Rose Kenworthy
Angelina-Rose Kenworthy, infant, died Friday, February 13, 2004.
Surviving her are: mother, Melliss Kenworthy; maternal grandparents, Alberta Olsson and Sandra Brudon; maternal great grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Sam Domenico; aunt, Sandy Jo Brudon; uncles, John Brudon, Sam Brudon all of Hammonton. Mr. & Mrs. Ron Saia of Minotola and a countless number of cousins.
Relatives and friends attended graveside services Thursday, February 19 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

William J. Holloway
William J. Holloway, 98, of Pennsauken, formerly of Folsom died Friday, January 30, 2004 at Cooper Hospital after a brief illness.
After attending Temple University, Mr. Holloway sold real estate in Newark, was a builder in Red Bank, owned Holloway’s Inn on Browning Road Circle in Pennsauken, and after retiring for a brief time in the late 1940s re-entered the restaurant business in Folsom operating Holloway’s Casino on the Black Horse Pike which he ran until the early 1970s. During that time he was very active in the Borough, serving on council for nine years and co-founding the Folsom Republican Club where he served as president for many years. He was very active in all aspects of the community. During WWII, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard where he served as Chief Boatswain’s Mate. As a young boy he enjoyed sailing Barnegat sneak boxes and carboats instilling in him a lifelong love of the sea. During his working years he owned several large powerboats but upon retirement, returned to his roots, owning several sailboats. He also was an accomplished woodworker and could fabricate just about anything. Bill was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Crescent Temple.
Predeceased by parents: William and Bertha; brothers, C. Edward, James. Surviving him are: wife, Pauline; stepdaughter, Jayne Haines and her husband Robert of Edgewater Park; one granddaughter; three great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be private.

Wesley E. Vaughn III
Wesley E. Vaughn III, 66, of Hammonton, died February 19 at his residence.
Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Vaughn was an insurance agent who owned and operated Comsur Insurance. He most recently worked for M.L. Ruberton in Hammonton. Mr. Vaughn was a former member of the Hammonton Rotary Club and the M.B. Taylor Lodge #141 of the Free & Accepted Masons in Hammonton.
He was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline R. Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn is survived by his daughter and son in law: Cindy and Thomas Dauria of Tabernacle; one son: Wesley S. Vaughn of Long Branch; four grandchildren: Emily Dauria, Kayla Dauria, Patrick Dauria and Travis Dauria; one brother in law: G. Scott Thorn; his uncle : John W. Vaughn; three cousins: Debbie Wright, Donna Artz and Charlotte Tarascke; two nieces: Tracy Hepbron and Susan Lavin.
Services were held on February 24 at the Carnesale Funeral Home. Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery.

Robert L. Connelly Sr.
Robert L. Connelly Sr., 75, of the Elmtowne section of Winslow Twp. died Friday, April 2, 2004 at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Camden, he lived in Sea Isle City and Audubon before moving to Elm in 2002. He retired from Conrail in 1990 after 40 years of service.
Surviving him are: wife, Gloria (nee Tomes); children, Robert L. Jr. and his wife Incarnita of Columbia, S.C., Steven J. and his wife Lori of Audubon, Vincent J. Borrelli and his wife Julann of Winslow, Verna E. Yakuschenko and her husband Sergei of Atco; Bonnie J. Smith and her husband Bill of Berlin, Venicia Price and her husband Larry of Clementon, Donna M. Fitzpatrick and her husband Al of Tomball, Texas; brother, Daniel E. of Bellmawr, John W. of Lake Land, Fla., James J. III of Glassboro, Joseph P. of Runnemede; sister, Joan E. Bonaventure of Deptford; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services Tuesday, April 6 at the Marinella Funeral Home followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Angelo Berenato
Angelo Berenato, 86, of Hammonton died Friday, April 2, 2004 at his home.
Born in Hammonton, he was a life long resident. A retired Postal Clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Hammonton, he retired in 1983 after 24 years. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, he enlisted in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945. He attained the rank of Tech. Sgt. and served with the 144th Signal Co. of Patton’s 4th Armored Division. He received many combat ribbons and medals when he was at Normandy Beach, France and fought in six major battles including the Battle of the Bulge. His unit also liberated one of the more notorious concentration camps in Poland. Angelo was a member of the VFW Passalaqua Post 1086 in Hammonton and a member of the Shur-Line Beagle Club in Hammonton.
Predeceased by: sister, Marie Perna. Surviving him are: wife, Elsie (nee Schiller); daughter, Denise Sanagata of Richland; son, Bruce A. of Landsdale; brother, Peter A. of Hammonton; sisters, Lena Tribuiani, Anna Turco both of Philadelphia; four grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Perna of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 5 at St. Martin de Porres Church followed by burial with Military Honors at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Martin de Porres Church, S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
