Emaline Cline, 76, of Waterford died April 6, 2004 at Virtua Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Philadelphia, she was an area resident all her life. She was a hand sewer for Wm. B. Kessler Clothing Company of Hammonton.
Surviving her are: sisters, Ruth Ritcher of Philadelphia, Iona Kappes of Marlton; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services Saturday, April 10, at the Marinella Funeral Home followed by interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Helen Sperandeo
Helen Sperandeo, 92, of Folsom died Friday, April 16, 2004 at the home of her daughter.
Born in Philadelphia, she was an area resident for 59 years. She and her husband formerly owned and operated Tony’s Grocery Store in Folsom. She was a former member of the Folsom Fire Company Auxiliary.
Predeceased by husband, Anthony. Surviving her are: daughter, Louise Lista and her husband William; grandchildren, Karen Lista Isaksen, Kathy Cardile, William Lista Jr., Toni Ellen Lagona, Michael Lista; sister, Viola Moloney of Philadelphia, 10 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on April 20 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by Interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Rose T. Wells
Rose T. Wells, 85, of Rising Sun, Md., and formerly of Hammonton died April 14 at Calvert Manor Nursing Home in Rising Sun.
Born in Philadelphia, she lived in South Jersey for many years before moving to Maryland three years ago. Before retiring, Mrs. Wells worked for Acme Markets in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: son, Lee Wells of Mays Landing; daughters-in-law, Shirley Wells of Hammonton, Kathy Wells of Rising Sun; grandchildren, Stephanie, Tara, Ryan, Vicky, Abby, Jason, Holly, Randall, Robert Jr.; five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 19, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Gaetano Thomas Mazza
Gaetano Thomas Mazza, 86, of Hammonton died Sunday, April 18, 2004 in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Born in Hammonton, he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Mazza was a retired truck driver for the Highway Transportation in Hammonton. He was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. Mr. Mazza was the caretaker at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and helped out with the maintenance at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church. He was a member of the Hammonton Senior Citizens and St. John the Baptist Society where he served as president several times and was currently serving as vice president. He was the vice president of the Holy Name Society; a fourth degree lifetime member of St. Vincent Pallotti Knights of Columbus; the American Legion Post 186 in Hammonton, and a longtime usher at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church.
Predeceased by: wife, Josephine F. Mazza. Surviving him are: daughter, Gloria Quigg and her husband Joe of Tucson; son, Michael Mazza and his wife Ruth of Haddon Heights; brothers, Jack Mazza, Michael Mazza, Vincent Mazza, all of Hammonton; sister, Angie Domenico of Hammonton; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing today at 7 p.m. or April 22 at 9 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated April 22 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Marie J. Mills
Marie J. Mills (nee Giuffre), 76, of Hammonton, died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bargantown, she lived in Melborne, Fla. for 22 years and Franklinville before moving to Hammonton in 1998. She retired from Harris Co. in Melbourne.
Predeceased by husband, Richard; brother, Basil Giuffre, sisters, Carolina Jupin, Anna Codario.
Surviving her are: son, Kenneth Smith and his wife Elaine of Franklinville; sister, Rose Benedetto and her husband Michael of Hammonton; grandchildren, Patricia Smith of Clayton, Ryan and his wife Tina of Gloucester Twp.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday evening, April 29, from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 30, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph R.C. Church followed by burial in Greenmount Cemetery.

Florence M. Pirnie
Florence M. Pirnie, 57, of Williamstown died April 14 at her residence.
Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Folsom for 28 years before moving to Williamstown three years ago. She was a construction clerk secretary for South Jersey Gas Co., Folsom since 1986. She liked to read, travel, go to the beach, and spend time with her family.
Predeceased by: mother, Margaret Mary Haag; sister, Margaret Ems. Surviving her are: father, George Haag of Folsom; lifetime partner, James J. Myers; daughters, Denise Pirnie of Williamstown, Kelly Pirnie of Folsom; sisters, Evelyn Schalki of Philadelphia, Cheryl Occhiolini of Buena Vista Twp.; brother, Raymond Haag of Croydon, Pa., 13 nieces and nephews; many close friends.
Relatives and friends attended a funeral liturgy on Saturday, April 17, at Our Lady Of The Lakes Church, Collings Lakes followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 224523, Dallas, TX 75222.

Alice E. Steinmetz
Alice E. Steinmetz, 91, of Bellmawr, formerly of Buena Vista Twp., died Saturday, April 17, 2004 at the Underwood Hospital in Woodbury.
Born in Townsbury, she lived in Buena Vista Twp. for 34 years until 1977 when she moved to Lake Worth, Fla. until 1983. She also lived in Elmtown and Haddonfield until 1989 when she moved back to Florida until a year ago when she lived in Bellmawr with her daughter, Christine. Mrs. Steinmetz retired in 1964 as an office clerk for the Wm. B. Kessler Clothing Mfg. Co. in Hammonton. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Minotola.
Surviving her are: daughter, Christine Smolka of Bellmawr; son, Robert P. Steinmetz of Goodview, Va.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday, April 24 at 9:30 a.m. at the Landolfi Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Landisville.

Henry Berenato
Henry Berenato, 87, husband of Rose (nee Lucca) Berenato and son of the late Catherine and Guiseppi Berenato died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Henry began farming with his late brother Joseph when their family farm was handed down in 1943 by their parents Catherine and Guiseppi. The farm continues to be run by Joseph, Pepe and Anthony, third and fourth generations. Berenato Farms was awarded the Golden Legacy Award by the Greater Hammonton Chamber of Commerce in 2001. The Atlantic County Board of Freeholders issued a proclamation to Berenato Farms for many years of dedicated service to the agriculture industry. Mr. Berenato received a certificate from Rutgers University for his work with strawberries. He was a charter member and former president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Henry was a member of the Atlantic County Board of Agriculture, president of the Future Farmers of America under the supervision of the late Mr. Strickland and Mr. Kiengle. He was also a member of the Vineland Produce Auction and was an inspector for the Hammonton Fruit Growers Auction Association. Henry excelled as a basketball player, was an avid bowler of the 300 League and he enjoyed hunting.
Mr. Berenato is survived by: wife, Rose J. Berenato; sons, Henry J. Berenato, Joseph A. Berenato and his wife Barbara, John Berenato and his wife Patti, Anthony J. Berenato and his wife Pat, all of Hammonton; daughter, Mary Joan Wyatt of Hammonton; grandchildren, Kelly and Bob Allen, Sherry and Kevin Scott, Pepe and Shelli Berenato, Amy and Frank DiMatteo, Matt Berenato, Jennifer, A.J., Susanna, Daniel, Nick Berenato; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Rebecca, Cassidy, Luca; many nieces and nephews especially Sharon and Jack Berstler.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, May 3 at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church followed by entombment in Greenmount Cemetery

Rafaela Galan, 72, of Mullica Township died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Bishop McCarthy Residence in Vineland.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she was a Mullica Township resident for 35 years. Before retiring, she worked as a silk screener for Wheaton Industries in Vineland.
Predeceased by: husband, Louis Galan; great-grandson, Jovanni A. Boyle. Surviving her are: daughter, Rose Gazzara and her husband Butch of Folsom; sons, Ralph Galan and his wife Ingrid Deegan of Somers Point, John Galan and his wife Madeline of Landisville; stepson, Samy Velez and his wife Sandra of Vineland; grandchildren, Barbara Galan-Nicholson, Angela Galan, Michelle Galan, Michael Galan, Richie Deegan, Holly Deegan, Natasha Galan, Natalie Galan, Sean Mercado, Joseph Galan, Graceline Galan, Seth Velez, Stephanie Velez, Alexis Cartagena, Louis Gazzara, Elizabeth Gazzara; five great-grandchildren.

Cosima Ruggeri
Cosima Ruggeri, 90, of Hammonton, died on May 3 at Greenbriar Nursing Center.
Born in Italy, she lived in Hammonton for more than 40 years. She worked as a seamstress for several local clothing factories in Hammonton.
She was the wife of the late John Ruggeri.
Surviving her are her step-daughter-in-law Anne Ruggeri and her late husband Joseph, step-grandson Joseph Ruggeri, all of Hammonton.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 6 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s RC Church at the corner of Third and French streets.
Donations may be made to the Foundation of W.B. Kessler Memorial Hospital, PO Box 437, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.

Lena Pitale
Lena Pitale, 88, of Hammonton died April 30 at Kessler Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta (nee Merlino) Scibilia.
Mrs. Pitale worked many years for Fairview Manufacturers. She was a longtime member of the St. Joseph Church.
She is predeceased by her husband Frank.
Surviving her are daughter and son-in-law Eleanor and John Mazzeo, her grandchildren Lenore Mazzeo-Amoriello and her husband Mark and John Mazzeo and his wife Jean and her great-grandchildren John W. Mazzeo and Frank Mazzeo.
A private viewing was held on May 3 followed by graveside services and interment at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
Arrangements were made by the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home.

Michael DePalma
Michael DePalma, 74, of Little Egg Harbor Twp. died May 5, 2004 at home.
Born and raised in Waterford, he moved to Ocean Twp. in 1989. He was a retired foreman for the P.S.R.L. for more than 41 years. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post of Barrington and the Loyal Order of Moose #548 of Lindenwold.
Surviving him are: wife, Doris J. (nee Tonyes); stepson, Thomas Flynn and his wife Jeanette of Newnan, Ga.; stepdaughter, Debra Rumbos of Mt. Laurel; brothers, Frank DePalma, John DePalma, Thomas DePalma and his wife Joan, all of Waterford, Paul DePalma of Laurel Springs, Robert DePalma and his wife Ruth of Philadelphia; daughters, Mary DePalma of Waterford, Theresa Siligato of Atco, Josephine Buscemi and her husband Joseph of Berlin, Dorothy DiChristopher and her husband Dom of Barrington, Jeanette Fanelli of Lindenwold; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 8 at St. Anthony Church in Waterford followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin.
Donations may be made in memory of Michael DePalma to Southern Ocean Home Health and Hospice, 80 Nautilus Drive, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.

Victor J. Moretti Jr.
Victor J. Moretti Jr., 46, of Hammonton died Saturday at Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Hammonton for nine years. Mr. Moretti was a pharmacist for CVS in Atlantic City.
Surviving him are: wife, Sandy DiMeo-Moretti; children, Nicholas Moretti, Olivia Moretti both at home; parents, Victor and Mildred Moretti Sr. of Marlboro; brothers, Richard Moretti and his wife Linda of Brick, Joseph Moretti and his wife Amy of Toms River; sister, Maria Guerino and her husband Ricky of Freehold; mother and father-in-law, Marlene and Thomas DiMeo of Philadelphia; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing tonight at 6 p.m. and again on Thursday at the Carnesale Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 13 at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church followed by entombment in Greenmount Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Victor Moretti Memorial Fund, (Commerce Bank NA) c/o Sandy DiMeo-Moretti.
