Denise E. Pittman (nee Durney), 69, of Folsom died Friday, May 7, 2004.
Born in Hammonton, she was a resident of Folsom since 1998. She was a graduate of Hammonton High School Class of 1952. She liked to read and travel but most of all she loved to be with her family.
Predeceased by: husband, Alfred L. Pittman in 1998. Surviving her are: daughters, Lori Pittman of Folsom, Alison Pittman of Folsom, Kathi Brown and her husband Ken of Hammonton; son, Dennis and his wife Christine of Williamstown; grandchildren, Shane Pittman, Daniel Pittman, Dennis Shannon Pittman, Kati Brown.

Robert C. Christopher III
Robert C. Christopher III, 25, of the Sicklerville section of Winslow Twp. died May 12, 2004 at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Born in Washington Twp., he was a lifelong resident of the Hammonton/Winslow Twp. area. He was a 1997 graduate of Edgewood Regional High School. Mr. Christopher worked as a salesman for Federal Wine & Liquor Company in Mt. Laurel. He had previously worked for U.S.A. Student Travel of California.
Surviving him are: mother, Shirley J. Christopher of Sicklerville; father and step-mother, Robert C. Christopher Jr. and his wife Fran of Hammonton; brother, Michael J. Christopher of Hammonton; maternal grandmother; Frances Kovshuk of Hammonton; maternal grandfather Sam Berenato and his wife Marietta of Wrightstown, paternal grandparents, Robert C. Sr. and Antoinette Christopher of Hammonton; aunts and uncles, Judy and Steve Paterson of New Hampshire, Barbara and Bob Ruberton, Pat and Angela Christopher, Carol and George Chmielwski, Dennis and Cynthia Christopher, Linda and Tom Hupf, all of Hammonton; many cousins and close friends.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday May 18 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Sue Caporale
Sue Caporale, 92, of Hammonton died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Hammonton for 67 years. Mrs. Caporale retired from Bell Sportswear of Hammonton where she worked as a seamstress. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Predeceased by husband, Peter A. Caporale. Surviving her are: sons, Anthony Caporale of Hammonton, Peter Caporale of Waterford; brother, Albert Rinaldi of Philadelphia; sisters, Julia Rinaldi, Edith Rinaldi both of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

George H. Earling
George H. Earling, 81, of Stewartsville, NJ, formerly of Hammonton died Saturday, May 15, 2004 at Virtua Hospital in Berlin.
George was a retired U.S. Postal Service employee for 27 years retiring as Postmaster from Princeton Postal Facility in 1983. He was a member of the Philipsburg Masonic Lodge #52 F. & A.M. and past Master 1976 of the MB Taylor Masonic Lodge #141 in Hammonton. He was an active member of the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church. He served with the U.S. Marine Corp. in World War II. George graduated Hammonton High School in 1941.
Surviving him are: wife, Eleanor; children, Janice C. Ragan and her husband Robert of Audubon Park, David G. Earling and his wife Joyce of Gibbsboro; stepdaughter, Doris Hagerty and her husband Jack of Stewartsville; sister, Flora Smith of Wildwood Crest; niece, Carol Decosta of Wildwood Crest; nephew, William Smith of Wildwood Crest; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, May 20 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home with services at 8 p.m. followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Harry M. Groves Sr.
Harry M. Groves Sr., 64, of Hammonton died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at home after a long illness.
Born in Pleasantville, he lived in Hammonton for 26 years. Mr. Groves served in the U.S. Army. He was a toll supervisor for the Atlantic City Expressway where he retired from after 19 years of service. He was a former Little League Coach in Folsom.
Surviving him are: sons, Harry Groves Jr., Joseph Florentino, Robert Groves all of Hammonton; daughters, Emily Groves, Jeannine Lenhart, Rebecca Villani, all of Hammonton, Jennifer Jenkins of Haddon Heights, Sharon Parker of Palermo; brothers, Roy Groves of Elwood, William Groves of Delaware; nine grandchildren, Victor, Manuel, Javier, Neena, Matthew, Nicholas, Angelica, Kyra, Skylar.

Benjamin B. Alexander
Benjamin B. Alexander, 88, died after a long illness at his home in Clayton.
Mr. Alexander served with the U.S. Navy for 28 years and the U.S. Postal Service in Hammonton for 16 years. He also served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Fleet Reserve Association, and was a life member of the VFW Post 1026 of Hammonton.
Predeceased by stepson, William Oberempt. Surviving him are wife, Eleanor Alexander; daughter, Carol Tarone of Aston, Pa.; sons, Alex Alexander of Lancaster, Thomas Alexander and his wife Debra of Vineland, Paul Alexander; four stepchildren, Robin L. Wilton of Sicklerville, Mark Oberempt and his wife Maryann of Williamstown, John Oberempt and his wife Lori of Collings Lakes; stepdaughter-in-law, Susan Oberempt; brother, O.D. Louis Barrios Jr.
Louis Barrios Jr., 56, of Galloway Twp. and formerly of Hammonton died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in Atlantic City Medical Center Mainland Division.
Born in Manhattan, he lived in this area for many years. Mr. Barrios was a security guard for Bally Park Place Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.
Surviving him are: son, Louis Barrios III of Galloway; brother, Rafael Barrios; sisters, Norma Iris Jimenez, Lydia Baez; grandchildren, Carina Barrios, Louis Barrios IV; stepdaughter, Janet Rios; three stepsons.

Marie A. Roesing, 72, died Friday, May 7, 2004 at the Genesis Rehab and Nursing Center in Voorhees.
Formerly of Atco, Mrs. Roesing worked at the Deer Park Baking Co. in Hammonton for many years and most recently worked as a sales associate for Wal-Mart in Berlin.
Surviving her are: daughter, Linda Domenico of Little Egg Harbor Twp.; mother, Marie Showmaker of Atco; brother, Bob Shoemaker of Atco; grandson, Ron Domenico.

Samuel Frank Perrone
Samuel Frank Perrone, 85, of West Palm Beach, died Friday, May 21, 2004.
Born in Waterford, he was an area resident for many years before moving to Florida. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was a postal carrier for 25 years until his retirement in 2000.
Surviving him are: daughters, Emma Lowen, Lucy Day; son, Ronald Connors, all of Florida; brother, Frank Perrone of Elm; sisters, Jennie Mattiacci of Philadelphia, Lucy Caruso of Hammonton; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Anna C. Facenda
Anna C. Facenda, 86, of Hammonton died Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Lincoln Care Center in Vineland.
Born in Waterford, she was an area resident all her life. She worked for Elm Dress Company and was co-owner of A & A Dress Shop in Berlin until her retirement in 1982. She also made pizzelles and sold them to local markets.
Predeceased by husband, Albert. Surviving her are: son, Albert J. Jr. and his wife Natalie of Hammonton; daughter, Patricia Jordan and her husband James of New York; brother, Anthony Terilla of Voorhees; sisters, Lucy Luciano of Malvern, Rose Kaiser of Hammonton; grandchildren, Albert Facenda III, Loriann Facenda, Nicole Jordan.

Charles A. Domenico
Charles A. (Chubby) Domenico, 77, of Hammonton, went home to the Lord on March 12, 2004 at home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Hammonton, he was a lifelong resident. Before retiring, Mr. Domenico worked as the parts manager at Arena Oldsmobile in Hammonton. He was a member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Hammonton. Mr. Domenico was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served aboard the U.S. Hayter Destroyer Escort No. 212. He was a member of the American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veteran’s, all in Hammonton.
Surviving him are: wife of 55 years, Josephine M. (nee Mento); sons, Charles (Chip) Domenico, John B. Domenico and his wife Jo Ann, Peter Domenico and his wife JoAnna, all of Hammonton, Benedict Domenico of Henderson, Nev.; grandchildren, Christopher, Crystal, Ron, Ryan, Janna, DanaJo Domenico.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on March 17 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton.
Harold W. Paine
Harold W. Paine, 68, of Elmtowne, died on Monday, May 31, 2004 at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Whitman, Mass. he was formerly of Folsom until 1998 when he moved to Elmtowne. He graduated from The Wrentham High School, Wrentham, Mass. Mr. Paine retired in 1995 as a line service operator from the Whitehall Laboratories, Hammonton after 26 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS Snowden.
Surviving him are: wife, Mary (nee Lemons); daughter, Lonnie J. Wilson and her husband Larry of Port Republic; sons, Glenn A. Paine and his wife Susan of Hammonton, Harold C. Paine and his wife Maria of Williamstown; brother, Kenneth Paine and his wife Jo of Lumberton, Miss.; grandchildren, Glenn A. Jr., Stefan J. Paine, Miranda Paine, Larry Wilson III, Travis Cole.

Charles R. Malandra, 81, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia, he was an area resident for 75 years. He was a retired I.D. Clerk for the Atlantic County Sheriff Department, Mays Landing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. Mr. Malandra served on the Hammonton Board of Education from 1975 – 1984 and was a former member of St. Joseph Booster Club, St. Joseph Holy Name Society, and a member of St. Joseph Choir. He was a veteran of the American Legion Post #186 and VFW Post #1026.
Surviving him are: wife, Ellen (nee Martinelli); son, Charles R. Jr. and his wife Wendy of Monroe, Conn.; sisters, Anna Domenico, Antoinette Caporale, both of Hammonton; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Steven, Alex.
