Born in Clay, W.Va., she was a resident of Hammonton for 30 years. Mrs. Schulze graduated cum laude from Glenville State College in 1950. She worked as a childcare specialist in Hammonton.
Predeceased by: husband, Theodore Schulze; sister, Virginia Reedy. Surviving her are: daughter, Martha C. Schulze of White Plains, N.Y.; sons, Joseph Theodore Schulze of West Islip, N.Y., Stephen M. Schulze and his wife Bronwyn of Tabernacle; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Stephanie Schulze both of Tabernacle; sisters, Charlotte Styers of Mobile, Ala., Esther Crim of Charleston, W.Va.

Elisabeth Kruger (nee Mytzka), 92, of Hammonton died Friday, July 9, 2004 at Pennsylvania Hospital.
Born in Berlin, Germany she lived in Hammonton for 40 years. Elisabeth was a retired seamstress from W.B. Kessler Company in Hammonton.
Mother of Ursula Pratt and her husband Homer of Blue Anchor and the late Dieter Kruger and his wife Barbara of Hammonton; grandchildren, John Pratt, Michele Scaffidi, Sharon Kruger; great-grandchildren, John D., Zachary, Christina, Jacob.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services Tuesday, July 13 at the Marinella Funeral Home followed by burial in Bates Mill Cemetery.

Charles “Chuck” D. Murphy, 77, of Elm formerly of Pomona, died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at his residence.
Born in Littleton, Ala., he lived in Pomona for 44 years before moving to Elmtowne in 1989. A retired carpenter since 1985, he was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 623, Atlantic City. Mr. Murphy was a member of St. Lucy R.C. Church in Blue Anchor and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a former member of the rescue squad and a Special Officer in Galloway Township for 15 years and also a member of the Hiriam T. Dewey Lodge #226 F&A.M., Egg Harbor City.
Predeceased by his wife, Marian. Surviving him are: sons, Joseph and his wife Carol, James, both of Elm, Charles and his wife Helen of Little Egg Harbor; brother, Doland of Pinson, Ala.; sister, Ethel of Ala.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation and condolences to the family on Friday, August 13 at 9 a.m. at St. Lucy R.C. Church followed by a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. A Military Honors burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Atlantic City Medical Center Hospice, P.O. Box 1626, Pleasantville, NJ 08232.

Mary Santora (nee Monaco), 91, of Hammonton died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Hammonton all of her life. She worked for Kessler Clothing Co. as a buttonhole maker for 10 years. She was a member of the Ladies Aux. of Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital and a former Den Mother for the Boy Scouts.
Predeceased by husband, Sebastian “Benny”. Surviving her are: sons, John, Joseph, Martin all of Hammonton; sister, Lucy Fredrick of Delaware; grandchildren, John Jr., Mark, Joseph Jr., Stacey, Lisa, Jason, Robert Jr.; great-grandchildren, Erin, John III, Rita.
Relatives and friends attended her viewing on August 4. A funeral Mass was held on August 5 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Michael R. Carrafiello, 61, of Hammonton died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at home.
Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Sweetwater before moving to Hammonton 23 years ago. He was a retired real estate appraiser for Margaretten Mortgage Corporation of Cherry Hill. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a member of the Artisan Order of Mutual Protection, Past Commodore of the Greater Wildwood Yacht Club and a former member of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers.
Surviving him are: wife, Rosemarie (nee Cappuccio); daughters, Marissa, Michele; brother, Honorable Matthew Carrafiello and his wife Linda of Philadelphia; sister, Rose Marie DiJulia and her husband Steve of Aldan, Pa., niece, Alessandra Carrafiello; nephew, Matthew Carrafiello; faithful dog, Molly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing tonight from 7 – 9 p.m. and Thursday, August 19 after 8:30 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the Hammonton First Assembly of God Church. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Mary Petruzzi (nee DeRago), 92, of Waterford died August 11, 2004 at her residence.
Born in Camden, she lived in Waterford for more than 70 years. She retired in 1973 as a cook for the Waterford Township school system. She was a member of St. Anthony Church for more than 70 years and the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society.
Predeceased by: husband, Joseph A. Sr., son, Joseph A. Jr., three brothers, one sister.
Surviving her are: son, Nicholas F. Petruzzi Sr. and his wife Carol; daughters, Rose Marie DePalma and her husband Raymond, Terry Schleinkofer and her husband Raymond, all of Waterford; caretaker, Anna; sisters-in-law, Josephine Vespe, Alice Graziano, Jean Tamburino; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Petruzzi; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a funeral Mass on Saturday, August 14 at St. Anthony Church followed by burial at Waterford Memorial Park.

Stephen Calascione, 72, of Elm, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at home.
Born in Brooklyn, he lived in the Hammonton area for 67 years. Mr. Calascione was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a Superintendent for Jersey Construction Inc. of Atco, and he also worked as a custodian at the Hammonton Middle School. He was a former member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 1658.
Surviving him are: wife, Anna Marie Calascione; daughters, Debra Camorata of Hammonton, Stephanie Ness and her husband David of Hammonton, Lori Nilson and her husband Bruce of Sicklerville; sons, Albert Calascione and his wife Linda of Blue Anchor, Stephen C. Calascione and his wife Kimberly of Hammonton, Christopher Calascione and his wife Dawn of Hammonton; step-children, Michael Pajic and his wife Linda of Hammonton, Luann McCarty and her husband Terry of Hamilton Square, Johnna Tomasello and her husband Kevin of Hammonton; brother, Dominic Calascione of Blue Anchor; grandchildren, Lauren & Jeremy Thompson, Stacey & John Gerst, Joseph Thompson, Albert, Charlotte, Chuckie Calascione, Stephen & Jenna Calascione, Mark & Matthew Nilson, Mary Jane Calascione, Michael, Joannie, Christopher & Justin Pajic, Lindsay & Danny McCarty, Louis & Alaina Tomasello; great-grandchildren, Victoria & Michael Pajic.

Thomas P. Perna, 76, of Rosedale died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at home.
Born in Rosedale, he was a lifelong resident there. Before retiring Mr. Perna was a self-employed owner and operator of a dump truck.
Surviving him are: wife, Kathryn L. “Kitty” Perna (nee DeMarco); son, Paul J. Perna and his wife Shelly of Rosedale; brothers, Clarence “Babe” Perna, Michael Perna, both of Hammonton, Gus Perna of Florida, sister, Margaret Rendina of Florida.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Saturday, August 14 at the Carnesale Funeral Home.

Joe D. Kelley Sr., 71, of Hammonton died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Deborah Hospital, Browns Mills.
Born in Bowling Green, Ky., he was an area resident for 43 years. He retired after 35 years of service as a Production Supervisor for Whitehall Lab. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the American Legion Post #186, and a member of the Hammonton Presbyterian Church.
Pre-deceased by: parents, Leslie and Blanche Kelley. Surviving him are: wife, Jessie (Robb); son, Joe Jr. and his wife Jody of Slidell, La.; daughters, Janice Guld and her husband Joseph of Leeds Point, Julie Aviles and her husband Paul of Hammonton; brother, George of Tennessee; sisters, Dora Moore of Venice, Fla., Nana Lee Johnson of Gainesville, Fla., Sue Baer of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Kaley Kelley, Joe Kelley III, Jenna Aviles, Savannah Aviles, Matthew Guld, Lauren Guld.
Relatives and friends attended funeral service son July 28 at the Hammonton Presbyterian Church. Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery.

Robert V. Salvo, 59, of Hammonton died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at home after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
A lifelong resident of Hammonton, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 28 years. He began as a sales representative with Dorsey Pharmaceuticals in 1976, which later became Sandoz and eventually Novartis. His most recent assignment was regional scientific associate director. He worked with the region’s leading medical institutions and researchers establishing clinical trials for new medicines for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. The recipient of numerous professional accolades, he most recently was presented with The Spirit Award from Novartis Oncology in recognition for his high level of dedication and the inspiration he provided to others. He was active in the community.
As a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, he served on the parish council and was instrumental in creating the church’s annual clambake. He was a longtime Little League coach and served in the New Jersey National Guard for six years. A 1963 graduate of Hammonton High School, he graduated from Atlantic Community College in Mays Landing in 1972 with an associate’s science degree. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration at Rutgers University in Camden going to school in the evening while employed by day as a letter carrier for the Hammonton Post Office. He served for two consecutive terms on the Hammonton Board of Education from 1993 to 1996 and from 1996 to 1999 where he was known as a fearless advocate for the people. After he left the school board he continued to be a watchdog, courageously questioning the board’s actions before it was fashionable to do so and speaking against board practices that were later proven to be in violation of the law.
Predeceased by his parents, Joseph Salvo and Susie Salvo (nee Pullia). Surviving him are: wife of 39 years and high school sweetheart, Delores (nee Smidillo); daughter, Karen FitzPatrick and her husband James; son, Robert Jr. and his wife Donna; brother, Joseph and his wife Josephine; grandchildren, Emily FitzPatrick, Caroline FitzPatrick, Austin Salvo all of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 24 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Donations may be made to St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 226 French Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Attn: Development Office, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111-2497, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Geraldine “Gerry” Gullo (nee Tomasino), 65, of Hammonton died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the Atlantic City Medical Center in Pomona.
Born in Winslow, she was a lifelong area resident. Gerry worked as a school bus aide for the Hammonton Board of Education. She graduated from Hammonton High School Class of 1957. She was a financial committee member of St. Anthony Church, past president of the American Business Women’s Association, Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital Ladies Aux., and the Hammonton Republican Club.
Surviving her are: daughter, Nicola Tasoff and her husband Aaron of Egg Harbor Township; grandson, Anthony Gullo.
Relatives and friends attended funeral Mass on Friday, August 20 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Nicholas A. Formichelli Sr., 49, of Hammonton died August 18, 2004 at home.
Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Hammonton for many years. Nick was a member of DiDonato’s Mixed Bowling League, a former Hammonton Little League Girl’s softball coach and a former coach with the Hammonton Youth Soccer Association. He was an active member of the Hammonton Volunteer Fire Co. #1. Nick was a self-employed contractor.
Surviving him are: wife, Barbara A. (nee Bintliff) Formichelli; children, Honesty Lemeshuk of Clayton, Stacey Julia of Winslow, Misty Lee of Chicago, Denise Morgan, Michael Morgan, Jessie Morgan, Nicholas A. Formichelli Jr., Taryn Cregon, all of Hammonton, Nicole Formichelli of Williamstown; grandchildren, Timmy, Nicky Lemeshuk, Salina, Jen, Camryn, Katherine Julia, Zoe Mandrell, Aaron, Kayla Lee, Erika, Amanda, Nico Mazzeo, Jada, Juliana Green, Mark, Faith Adamucci; mother-in-law, Sue Bintliff; aunt, Mary DiNicola; cousins; special friends, Winnie, Jack, Mary, Tony, and his nieces.

Edgar “Ed” T. Shepard Sr., 61, of Seaside Heights died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.
Born in Georgia, he resided there before moving to New Jersey. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Shepard was a retired self-employed building contractor.
Surviving him are: wife, Marie; sons, Eddie and his wife Becky of Garden City, Ga., Chris and his wife Linda of Rincon, Ga.; daughters, Gina Caruso and her husband Joe, Lori LoDuca and her husband Dave, Dana LoDuca and her husband Paul all of Hammonton, Kim Barile of Seaside Heights; sisters, Peggy Cain, Laura Williams, Linda Burkett, Sarah Parker all of Georgia; 19 grandchildren.
