THOMAS SCORNAVACCA, 86, of Ridgefield Park died Monday. Before retiring, he was an auto body mechanic for National Auto Body Workers, Garfield, where he worked for 21 years.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the 507th Parachute Infantry Association; American Legion Post 118, Secaucus; and Disabled American Veterans 15, Rutherford.
He had been a prisoner of war.
He was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park.

HENRY "HARRY" A. SHIELDS, 63, of Rutherford died Sunday.
He was academic dean of evening and summer sessions and continuing education at St. Peter's College, Jersey City.
Previously, he was a teacher at Henry Snyder High School, Jersey City.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Lyndhurst, a member of the Bergen County Audubon Society, and a board member of the New Jersey Audubon Society and the Rutherford Community Blood Bank.
A graduate of St. Peter's College, he received a master's degree from Seton Hall University.
