JAMES ADAMS, 89, of Wayne died Friday.
Before retiring in 1973, he was chief engineer of product and research design for the Raybestos Manhattan Co., Passaic, where he worked for 28 years.
A 1931 graduate of the Stevens Institute of Technology, he was the holder of eight United States and 24 foreign patents.
He was a charter member of the Packanack Lake Community Church, where he served on the board of deacons and church council.
He was a member of the Packanack Lake Country Club, where he served on the board of governors, was co-founder of the United Giver's Plan of Packanack, and was a member of Masonic Lodge 154, and past chairman of Boy Scout Troop 104, all in Wayne.
Arrangements: Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

THEODORE O. ALBRECHT of Hernando, Fla., formerly of Emerson, died Saturday.
Before retiring in 1973, he was in the electronic quality control division of the Bendix Corp., Teterboro, where he worked for 22 years.
He was an Army veteran.

PALMIER E. BERWALD, 86, of North Branch, formerly of Fort Lee, died Saturday.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Fort Lee.

ADELINE BIBBO, 99, of Washington Township died Friday.
She was a member of the Jewish Rehabilitation Center, River Vale.

LOUIS BUXBAUM, 86, of West New York died Saturday.
Before retiring, he was a butcher for the A&P supermarket, West New York.
A navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in West New York, the Moose Lodge, and the Weehawken Elks.

LUCIANA ORLANDO CAPUZZI of Fairview died Friday.
She was born in Italy.
She had been a seamstress.

VICTORIA "DORA" LIBERTI CASTELL, 88, of Hasbrouck Heights, formerly of East Rutherford, died Sunday.
She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi R.C. Church, Hasbrouck Heights.
She was a member of the Woman's Club and the Leisure Club, both in Hasbrouck Heights.
She was a member of the Rutherford Old Guard Ladies' Auxiliary.
She was a volunteer for St. Mary's Hospital, Passaic.
Arrangements: Costa Memorial Home, Hasbrouck Heights.

EDWARD S. CAUGHEY, 80, of Rutherford died Sunday.
Before retiring, he was a lieutenant in the Rutherford Police Department.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Rutherford.

STEVE J. CHEPURKO, 81, of Ridgefield died Saturday.
Before retiring 19 years ago, he worked for the New York Marine Yard, Weehawken.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Elks Club, New Milford.

AUSTIN J. DALY, 87, of Ridgewood and Southold, N.Y., died Sunday.
He had been advertising manager for Lederle Laboratories, Pearl River, N.Y.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He was a 1933 graduate of Georgetown University.
He was a life member of the Ridgewood Art Association and was past president of the Pharmaceutical Advertising Club, New York City.

CHRISTIAN DARE, 94, of Little Ferry died Sunday.
He was a supply supervisor for Renaissance Corp., Little Ferry.
He was a former trustee of the Volunteer Savings and Loan Association, Little Ferry.
He was an exempt member of Little Ferry Fire Department Hook and Ladder Company 1.

ANGELO DEFINA, 74, of Glen Ridge, formerly of North Bergen, died Thursday.
Before retiring in 1990, he was a foreman for Grove Embroidery, West New York.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion post in Glen Ridge.

LORRAINE C. ZANNE DI ARCHANGEL, 62, of Ridgefield Park died Saturday.
She was a member of the Roosevelt School Parent-Teacher Association, Ridgefield Park, where she served on the municipal guidance committee, the juvenile conference committee, and the first drug council.
She was vice president of the Ridgefield Park High School PTA and a member of the Little League Baseball Auxiliary.
She was a member of the Ridgefield Park Board of Education for 12 years, serving as president and vice president.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park.

HARRY "JIM" EDWARDS, 65, of Wayne died Friday.
Before retiring in 1997, he was superintendent of the West Point Mint, Highland Falls, N.Y., where he worked for 30 years.
An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member, second vice commander, and historian of American Legion Post 174, Wayne.
He also was a member of Elks Lodge 2181, Wayne.

ELVIRA MONTEFORTE FERRANTI, 91, of Clifton died Saturday.
