He was past president and trustee of the Boys' and Girls' Club, a lifetime member of the Police Benevolent Association, and former director and temporary chairman of the YMCA, all in Garfield.
He was also a former director of the Passaic Valley United Way.
He was a former member of the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission's affirmative action compliance committee.
He was a former director of the N.J. Savings and Loan Association.
He was a member of the North Jersey Credit and Trade Club.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University and a member of its Alumni Association.
