CHARLES S. "NICK" NICOL, 76, of Hawthorne died Friday.
He owned GMC Bowling Lanes, Hawthorne, for 27 years.
Previously, he was parts manager for Hawthorne Chevrolet and a painter for Charles Smith Painting Contractors, Ridgewood.
A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 907, Candor, N.Y.
He was the founder and first head coach of the Hawthorne Cubs Football Association and was named the Hawthorne Boys Club Man of the Year in 1982.

WILLIAM H. PAULISON, 54, of Ringwood died Friday.
He had been sales manager for Burns Hardware Store, Oakland, where he worked for 34 years.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

She was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Wallington.

LOUIS SHIVITZ, 73, of Fort Lee died Friday.
He was executive vice president of Robert Olnick Inc., New York City, where he was employed for 30 years.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Jewish War Veterans, both in Fort Lee.
He also was treasurer of the World War II Veterans Monument Fund, Fort Lee.

NORMAN STEIN, 73, of Paramus died Friday.
Before retiring, he was director of manufacturing for Revlon Corp., Edison.

ROSE VARTOUHI KAZANJIAN TASHJIAN, 88, of River Edge, formerly of North Bergen, died Saturday.
Born in Armenia, she came to the United States in 1929.
Before retiring 25 years ago, she was co-owner of Leon's Furs, North Bergen, for 40 years.
She was a member of St. Thomas Armenian Church of Bergen County Apostolic, Tenafly, and a member of its AVAK Senior Citizen Society.
She also was a member of St. Leon Armenian Church, Fair Lawn, and Holy Cross Armenian Church, Union City, and the Senior Citizens, River Edge.

MICHAEL D. THOMPSON, 54, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Waldwick and Hackensack, died Friday.
He had been an entertainment public relations director and an off-Broadway theatrical producer in New York City.
More recently, he was an artistic director at the Gruber Theater in West Palm Beach, Fla.
He co-founded the Hackensack University Medical Center AIDS Outreach Program and the Outreach Angels.

ANTHONY THOMAS VAZZONA, 66, of Lyndhurst, formerly of Weehawken, died Friday.
Before retiring in 1996, he worked for Commercial Carriers Inc. at Port Newark.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Lyndhurst, and was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus Council 1387, Union City.

EMMA WASYLYK of the Leisure Village West section of Lakehurst, formerly of Rochelle Park and Saddle Brook, died Sept 13.
She was a seamstress at Josephine Dress Shop, Lodi, and was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union.
