Before retiring in 1980, he was a partner at Bigham, Englar, Jones & Houston, New York City, where he worked for 38 years.

He was admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the District Courts for Southern and Eastern New York, and New York State courts.
He had also been an assistant attorney general for New York State.
He was a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association, the Catholic Speakers Assembly, the Knights of Columbus, and the Telistians.
He was a parishioner of Madonna R.C. Church, Fort Lee.
