She had been a registered nurse at Englewood Hospital.
She was a graduate of the Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) General School of Nursing.

LAURA J. BRACEY BYRD, 64, of Paterson died Thursday.
She was a food service manager for the Paterson school system.
She was a member of New Christian Missionary Baptist Church, Paterson, and its Inspirational Choir, Deaconess Board, and Food Pantry Committee.
She also served as a prayer and Bible study leader and a church mother.

Before retiring, he was a bus driver for the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority, where he worked for 22 years.

She was a member of Old Paramus Reformed Church, Ridgewood, where she served as a deaconess, was active in the Women's Guild, and volunteered in the church office.

FREDERICK C. GLASSER, 73, of Paramus, formerly of River Edge and Cliffside Park, died Saturday.
Before retiring, he was a supervisor for Thomas J. Lipton Co., Englewood Cliffs.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Before retiring in 1974, she was a teaching principal in Saddle Brook.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Children of the American Revolution, and VASA.

MARY SULLIVAN MERTZGER of Totowa died Sunday.
She was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa, where she was a member and past president of the Rosary Society and served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, CCD teacher, and Girl Scout leader of Troop 495.
She was past president of the Paterson Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and the Paterson Hawthorne Council of Catholic Women.
She was a member of the board of directors for the Leni Lenape Girl Scout Council, where she served as service unit manager and was in charge of the Bishops Award.
She was chairwoman of the Catholic Committee on Girl Scouting for the Diocese of Paterson.
She was a member of the Passaic County Extension Service and the Salesian Cooperators at Don Bosco Tech, Paterson.
