ANGELO SCAVONE, 82, of Totowa died Thursday.
Before retiring 14 years ago, he owned Tryon Oil Co., Tryon Auto Sales, and the Tryon gas station, all in Totowa.
He was a co-founder of the PAL, a sponsor of the PAL Little League, a member of the Happy Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Chamber of Commerce, all in Totowa.
He was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa.

DOROTHY A. MacDONALD SCHMIDT, 52, of West Milford died Wednesday.
She was a manager of The Keeping Room, Ringwood.

ETHEL STEELE, 82, of Dumont, formerly of Demarest, died Thursday.
She was an insurance clerk for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., New York City.

JUNIUS G. TINSLEY JR., 75, of Hawley, Pa., formerly of Englewood, died Thursday.
He had been a supervisor for Public Service Electric and Gas Co., where he worked for 31 years.
He was a an Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of American Legion, Englewood.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Teaneck.

FRED WOETZEL, 76, of Midland Park died Wednesday.
Before retiring, he was a financial consultant.
He was a volunteer at the Hackensack Health Care Practice and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, a commander of American Legion Post 130, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7086, both in Midland Park.
He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Midland Park, where he served on the vestry and was an usher.
He was scout master of Troop 134, Midland Park.
