He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 142, Maywood.
He had been a member of the First Aid Squad and Fire Police, both in Maywood.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Cliffside Park, where she served as trustee board president, missionary treasurer, planning committee leader, and president of the board of managers of the Baptist Home in Newark.
She had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Englewood.
