W. LEONARD "LEN" NIX, 74, of Hackensack, formerly of Boonton, died Thursday. Before retiring, he worked for the Department of Public Works, Hackensack. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 55, Hackensack. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack, and a member of its Usher Society. EDWARD M. PIELA SR., 79, of Wallington, formerly of Garfield, died Thursday. Before retiring in 1986, he owned Piela Provisions Inc., Wallington, for 40 years. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2640, Wallington. He was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. LOUIS B. ROBBINS, 86, of Fort Lee died Thursday. He was born in Ukraine. Before retiring, he was a music librarian for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, New York City. Previously, he owned Music Copying Service Inc., New York City, and was a musicologist for the Columbia Broadcasting System. He was a member of the Jewish Community Center of Bergen County and the American Federation of Musicians. Arrangements: Orland's Ewing Memorial Chapel, Trenton.
MELVIN JACK ROMAN, 54, of New Milford died Wednesday. He was a baker and cake decorator for Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Englewood. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Club, and he was the East Coast coordinator of AMSAT. Arrangements: Wein & Wein, Englewood.
MAX ROSENBERG, 77, of Parsippany, formerly of Passaic, died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1980, he was a mechanical engineer for Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, where he worked for 34 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn.

JESSAMINE E. CONOVER VAN KAMPEN, 90, of Wyckoff died Monday. Before retiring, she worked for the Wyckoff school system for 34 years. She was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church, and the Seniors, both in Wyckoff; a volunteer at The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, and the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Audubon Society of New Jersey, and the Fyke Nature Society of New Jersey. She was a graduate of Montclair State Teaching College. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 203, Clifton, and a former member of Third Presbyterian Church, Paterson. He was a 1936 graduate of Penn State University.
